A painfully pretentious place. Two of us One drink a piece [a very ungenerous serving of wine] one bowl of soup for her and one«special of the night pizza» [extremely small not very good] for me and the bill was close to 50 bucks. We were there reasonably early [about 7:30] and yet it took forever to get the order in and out as well as getting the bill. As someone noted in another posting the good reviews must be from friends. I cannot imagine this place lasting too long nor should it. As an addendum my original drink order was for a beer. No beer I was told problems with the tap. So when I tried ordering bottled… I was told no bottled beer either. Huh? Yesterday I walked by where it once was… apparently it is now closed. GOOD.

I met a group of friends(8 of us) for dinner, drinks and kareoke. We did not have reservations and this is a tiny place. At first, they looked at me as if I had a 3rd eye ball for not having reservations. My hubby and I decided to sit at the bar and have a drink while the rest of the group arrived. The drinks were good! After a short while they came over to us and said they would have a table ready in 20 minutes. 6 of us ordered food which was all delicious. The service was very good and the kareoke was hilarious! They are environmentally conscious on all levels. The iPad not only have the menu but also how the restaurant was designed, the layout, etc. Looking forward to going back.

Came in to try out Dome for the first time last weekend. I was executed to try a new up and coming spot on miracle mile. I got there around 7pm, early enough when there wasn’t much of a crowd. I received great service and drinks, however, as 9 rolled around all of a sudden my business was not sufficient to management. Although I spent $ 65 for 4 drinks, they had the audacity to bring me my check and tell me that they had«reservations» they had to satisfy. In other words if you want to be treated like your business isn’t worthy enough, then Dome is the right place to be.

The décor and food *would* be lovely for a date night or a small family night out at a progressive organic restaurant. Cool concept, HOWEVER, I did not enjoy it so much because there was very LOUD annoying disco music playing the whole time. This sort of prevents/deters the ability to converse and enjoy each other’s company. Food was good, service was excellent but extremely aggressive(as if the servers are hammered about getting customers in) and all in all I just wish they would treat it like the nice restaurant that it is, relax a little, and treat it less like studio 54. Peace and love bra!

(This review is based on a event and not a sit down dining experience) So yes. Art Basel came and went and there were many parties to be had blah blah blah. Citibank hosted a quaint little event here for its clients and to showcase the chef and a pretty cool artist. The chef is Peruvian so he already had my vote and the staff and owner were so friendly and attentive i totally didn’t care that the place was a little crammed for an event. THere was a nice array of food being served that you can find on their menu such as the sea bass croquetas topped with caviar and a delicious octupus ceviche. Judging alone from this little snippit of food and drink i would like to go back and give this place a full taste :) They hooked me with the ceviche and vodka so i shall turn my little experience into a full meal next time.

Great ambiance, cozy and sexy but the food and service were very bad. We really, really wanted to love this place but as much as we tried it seemed like the wait staff and cook couldn’t get it together. We were ignored and the food took forever :(it really is a shame as this place is right down the street for us and wanted to make it one of our everyday spots. Great music, drinks and sliders! Visit them and judge for yourself! Great happy hour, not so great dinner. It’s a bar/lounge, not so much a restaurant.

Went today for my birthday lunch with a party of 12. I have to say the food was excellent. Of the 12 of us, only one had something that she didn’t enjoy. The rest of us were raving. I had the braised short rib, others had churassco, sliders, fish, and beet salad which were all delicious. Not huge portions but most of us were satisfied with the exception of our notorious big eaters. Best, the quality was outstanding. We ended the lunch with the flan which was the best I had ever experienced and some espresso. Everything was delightful. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the kitchen was on the slow side. We were a bigger party but also the only diners for this lunch. Still it was a great experience full of wonderful food, good atmosphere, good service, and good friends. Nice job Dome. I will return.

Meh! I wanted to love this place. When we went in on a Friday night for their reverse happy hour I thought we would. The décor is great, it’s in a great location, and being handed iPads as menus was pretty cool. That was the end of the positives. We did not order food, we came to have some drinks with friends, so I can’t comment on their food. I can however comment on the service. Our waiter was a very nice guy but clearly overwhelmed. They had one waiter for every single table. We had to wait long periods of time with empty glasses before he got back to us for another round. After having to get up to go get his attention after a long wait, we started ordering two and three drinks at a time to make up for the long gaps in service. As far as the reverse happy hour, they advertise special prices on draft beer. Guess what, they didn’t have any. Think they offered to let me have a bottled beer at the sale price, nope. We had a good time because we made the best of it, but we definitely will not be back.

The Dome is one of my Favorite Venues. Very few Reasturants pay attention to details as the Dome Does, The Seating is very cool is ths Emerald Green Venue. Presentation was Amazing. My date and I had seafood, which was presented on a beautiful glass plate on a Salt Bed. Very freash and tasty. We shared Proscecco and the Chef sent us over a wonderful cocktail. I can’t wait to go back again. And if you have more than 4 going, definately ask for the Window Seat, it is very fun and intimate. I only give this Venue 4 stars for Parking on Miracle Mile, but hey, it is what it is. Definately a Great Date Spot.

What a fortuitous find! I had heard about this place when it first opened, and hadn’t managed to check it out quite yet. However, after a waterlogged excursion around Miracle Mile, we stumbled in late one Friday night looking for a place to dry off and to grab a bite to eat. The interior was warm, welcoming, and super chic, Basically an upscale oasis with comfortable seating offering champagne and caviar. Perusing the glowing iPad menus we amused ourselves listening to the horrible crooners attempting karaōke, while trying to figure out what we wanted from the long list of martinis, entrees, and tapas-style plates. The decision was made for us, since they have a late night happy hour, with free champagne for the ladies and deals on small dishes(Calamari at the time). Excellent service, interesting food, lots of great deals, and karaōke? The next time I come by certainly won’t be an accident. Already planning my next outing to this wonderful spot.

I finally made it to The Dome a couple of weekends ago and boy was it worth the wait. Our party was able to sit at the window booth which was fun. There was a DJ spinning tunes by the bar and the crowd was quite pleasant. We tried the portabello sliders which were to die for and finished the late nite treat with the ceviche which was equally as delicious. Accompanied by a Chardonnay and danced for dessert… Will definately be back…

I LOVED this little spot and I really hope it does well, because I would like to frequent it. The ambience and décor are beautiful — it’s like a little gem on Miracle Mile. I ordered several small plates and the short rib entrée and shared it with 2 friends. The crab cakes, yuca croquettes with caviar and crème fraîche, the short rib ravioli, the ceviche quattro, the scallops and the short rib entrée were all equally amazing! I wasn’t a fan of the dessert we ordered but honestly, didn’t care because everything else was soooo good! Very cool concept with everything being green — ipad menus, re-purposed furniture, farm to table veggies, etc. Can’t wait to go back for Happy Hour!

I ABSOLUTELY love this place for several reasons. I can’t say enough about this place. Concept Overall concept is about sustainability. One of the few venues I know of that is LEED-certififed. I love the idea they use ipads as their menus. Website Very dope! Location Located conveniently on Miracle Way, the heart of the Gables. Staff LOVELOVELOVE the owners Rachel and Andres. They are very personable and very attentive. The bar staff is equally as friendly. Value Very reasonable. They have two happy hours that includes a reverse happy hour from 12-midnight(FREECHAMPAGNE for women) Food Very exotic tasting food. Especially, the chips and salsa that are both home-made. Overall One of my best lounges in South Florida.

Two Words–«Food Poisoning» I don’t understand why this place touts itself as «green», as if i-pads and the rare earth minerals used to strip mine from the earth to power them not to mention the plastics inside the i-pad menus are less environmentally damaging then recycled paper and inks. This is just endemic of this pretentious wallet sucking nightmare of a dining experience that I had at Dome. After being raped in the wallet for over $ 200 on a mediocre and expensive dinner for two and two rounds of weak crappy drinks(avoid the ‘Raquelita’ like syphillis and their mojito was watery and cheap on the mint for its crazy price tag), treated like second class citizens by a rude and inept stinkfaced waiter named Avian flu or something like it, and waiting nearly 30 minutes to order, my dining companion and I spent a quality twelve hours remembering our dining experience at the dome while hunched over the dome of our toilet. I wonder if we got eccoli from the wedge salad which was on the wilty side. They boast a signature line of caviar– we ordered the oyster and caviar appetizer. My stomach is twitching with disgust just thinking about it. Honestly I’ve had better quality caviar at the neighborhood take out sushi-thai place recently featured on «dangerous dining». It could have been what made us violently ill. But then again, my churning stomach might blame the house ceviche with its strong fishy scent. My dining companion, currently doubled over the toilet remembering the meal as I type this thinks the culprit may be the undercooked filet mingon skewers he ordered. I ordered the masa frita which is like some grease laden salt soaked tiny pork chunks with onions. I’m not a religious person, but from this meal, I can see why pork is forbidden in the bible. Maybe God saw in his wisdom what the ‘chefs’ at Dome would do to pig flesh. Had only I trusted His omniscience and dined elsewhere. Short of having to eat loved ones to survive, I cannot state strongly enough how much you should avoid dining at Dome. If you will excuse me now, I need to recycle more of this«green dining experience».

We were a group of about 10 people with reservations for a birthday. They were nice enough to seat us even though our entire party had not yet arrived. The ambiance and décor were nice and I enjoyed reading the information they provided on the interactive menus that they pass around on iPads. It is one of the very few Green restaurants in Miami and the menu explains how the restaurant is energy efficient and how all the materials used in building out the space were environmentally friendly. The dome serves Latin American fusion style food and also specializes in caviar. I settled in with a few cocktails from that bar and I must say that all of them were very good. I was impressed with the diversity of their drink menu and I truly enjoyed what they had to offer. As for the food, I would strongly suggest that you stick to the small plates. The Cuban slider was tasty but not excellent and the presentation was not great. The burger sliders were pretty good, but at the end of the day, it a hamburger… nothing too exciting there. The crab cakes were pretty good. The entrees were lacking in flavor and left a bit to be desired. We tried the Arroz con pollo which was totally flavorless and beef short ribs were fatty and also quite bland. The cod fillet sounded good on the menu but again lacked flavor. If I were to ever go back I would enjoy a drink at the bar and that’s about it.

It’s Saturday night… the hubby and I decided to bar hop Miracle Mile style. After going to a couple of the nearby bars we were looking for a place to «end the night.» The Dome was on the way. It looked cool so we thought«why not?» Décor– Cool, stylish… Very New York«Sex and the City.» We sat at the bar and the menu was given to us on an IPad. Call me a nerd but I thought it was pretty cool. Drinks-The drinks were yummy. I had a strawberry mojito that was just right. Not too sweet, strong but not too strong and delish! Although, I enjoyed my mojito I decided to also try the Chambord with Champagne. What a fancy drink! It’s now my new«SATC» girls night drink. Food-We tried the fish sliders. I was impressed. They hubby was happy. Music & Vibe-The DJ was great! I am an 80’s child so my idea of great is not the pop music that is played on the radio now. But in fairness to him he played music from different genres. Overall The Dome was AWESOME! 5+ star rating!

Small(and I mean small), comfy, and sexy looking place. Great service and happy/funny bartenders which recommended me great new beers. St. Patricks Day. I couldn’t find a parking nor a bar around miracle mile until a parking spot in front of «The Dome» appeared. Walked right in since the vibe seemed great and indeed we had a blast. Shots of Jameson, Bananabread Beer, and another beer I can’t remember. Sat down at the bar and later on a table when it cleared out. Really cool place, really good time. Nothing wrong about this place. I would call this place«The hidden gem of Miracle Mile.»

Oh my Mother of Pearl, Mother of Pearl spoon that is and that is the weapon of choice when devouring these fish eggs! Once the bugs are worked out and there not many. The Dome has potential to hit it out of the park. The caviar bar only has three dishes that contain caviar, but as you peruse the interactive menu they have a separate caviar menu which the caviar ranges from $ 30.00 to $ 150.00 an ounce. Sounds like High school numbers, when you scored out in the students parking lot, on your magic bag of buds but that’s another story altogether. And, damn it your in your late forties now, and you know that caviar will please your palate a whole lot better. I imagined the Dome to be larger, as I used to hang out in at the Dome in Bankok Thailand(no relation) which is the greatest Martini Bar in the world and it serves as great a memory. But, i found that great memories are developed by great times. The Dome in Coral Gables also has the ability to transend those times. It is elegantly designed with bright art work and black tables. Even the owner Rachel Dominguez was stunning in her poise and grace, a Jaquiline Kennedy Onassis reincarnation. She has a interseting story, and apparently a drive for succsess. Everything showed off well. You’ll feel very sophisticated sitting at the bar. Ivan the bartender was a good pourer and recommend everything that I ordered. From the Hellguard Caviar to the Pork Frito(Fried Pork Bellies) I know it sounds like a bad match, but I really reminis about caviar and I love pork belly; however, Ivan said he’d space it out enough thatI could enjoy both. The caviar was a work of art on a plate. My only gripe is my caviar was served lid on. I could have spilled my precious delicacy while opening it. But, if that’s my biggest concern then why stress. There is something actually metaphysical about eating caviar, and this was not the #150.00 an ounce caviar, but the $ 40.00 an ounce brand, not to be worried my Unilocal ilk, it was wonderful, so much so I became the subject of conversation. Think about it, you’ll never get some dolt saying«hey look at that guy eat a chili cheese dog» while at Arebetters, no, but while sitting at the Dome, you will get conversation, by People named«Simon» or «Ariel» at Arebetters you’ll get conversation, only it’s about moving your care, and the word that goes by the initials A H are attached. So I enjoyed my conversation with my bar neighbors about it, as they have never tried caviar. I shared my fish egg morsels and my bar mate had the same reaction, DAMNGOOD! It was damn good, but that is the reason why we eat, not only that positive communal reaction, but the satisfaction of your pleasure receptors, and my pleasure receptors were working overtime. The Dome and it’s delightful caviar took me back to my younger«cool» years of champagne, caviar and the beautiful people I hung out with. The owner Rachel Dominguez, a vivacious bubbly individual with a Donald Trump spirit and sight did good, very good. She brings romance and entrigue to the Gables. My idyllic wish of a larger venue, with outside seating will have to wait, I like Ms. Dominguez concept, she brought sophistication to the Gables, which already prides it’s self on sophistication, but they need Rachel as they need this caviar bar!
