They are open again. I dont know the whole story but it looks like it was closed for a short time and was redesigned. They might have new owners as I didnt recognize the workers there. No more pizza display on the right counter, its for salads! Hand written menu on the wall. I have not eaten here after they reopened so this review is based on pre-reopen. Ive been here many times since I go to a chiropractor in the same strip mall. The smell of pizza is hard to pass up. We normally got the special which was 2 slices and a fountain drink for $ 5.00. Good deal! The slices were massive. 2 slices together was served to you on 2 – 3 paper plates like a big cardboard platter. They do a great job of reheating premade pizza lol. Thats what the specials are made of but dont get me wrong, it is good! it comes out hot and crispy on the bottom. If you order a whole pie, they will make it fresh of course. Other offerings they had were buffalo wings, pastas and more. Ill have to try this place again to see the difference and update this review.

#1 in my Top 3 Best Miami Pizzas. There is absolutely, positively, no doubt this is one of the best of the best in Miami. I don’t care who you are; this place might not be your #1 but it is up there. What I feel is probably the best representation of a NY pizza here in Miami. The only other place I’ve been able to taste a pizza like this is in New York City. Slices are big and a medium pizza here is bigger than what you get as a «large» in national franchised pizzerias(i.e. Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Etc.) Absolutely great… My first 5 star review and I’m saving these 5 stars for the best.

This place saved my life after Hurricane Katrina and Wilma hit Miami in 2005. Here’s the story: I pass Riviera Pizza every day on my way to work — it’s easy to overlook, it’s on a busy road, in an ordinary strip mall on US-1. When Katrina hit Miami, it went from a dinky tropical storm into a Category 1 hurricane that ripped power lines, trees, and threw Miami back into the Medieval Ages. We had NOTHING. No A/C, no electricity, and little running water. By some miracle, Riviera Pizza was THEONLYPLACE in town that had electricity(by some miracle of its position on the electrical grid). Even despite the mandatory city night curfew, a coupla people flocked to this place for a hot slice of normality, it was only a day after the storm blew over. The cops didn’t mind, heck, they were found grabbing a slice of New York pizza, drippy cheese and all. All of humankind found solidarity in that brief moment. Life looks awfully grim when you’re looking at weeks of subsisting off dinner crackers and tinned meat cans by candle light. Riviera Pizza was truly a beacon of light in the dark. Thanks to Katrina(and 3 wks later, Wilma), I got introduced to another favorite pizza joint and my life felt a little more normal despite the hurricanes. The End.
