We like coming here for breakfast the food and the prices are good, only reason I don’t give a five is the atmosphere could use some sprucing up.

Lil Tex has really good breakfast! My kids love eating the mickey mouse pancakes and the servers always do cute designs with the whipped cream:). Love the atmosphere so cute small town feel. Serves is always on point!

Good food. Reminds you of good home cooking with nothing you would get from a chain store. Won’t be fast but well priced and good friendly secure with made from scratch food.

Food was average but felt good to be in a environment surrounded by friendly locals. I have been here several times, always left full and pleased. The first time, I had the catfish. The catfish was fantastic. With that experience, the only down fall, I had a fork that had some previous crusted food on it. I have been there for some breakfasts, and it’s always been delicious. My favorite here is the gravy and biscuits with a side of sunny side up eggs, so good here. However, one experience in the morning I found a long hair in my gravy. The food and service is very good here, it just needs more maintenance on the upkeep of cleaning and being sanitary.

Coffee rating for today is one star. I don’t understand how the coffee can be so inconsistent between visits. The grounds come pre packed in filter. You drop in the basket, push the red button, and off it goes…

Good food for a good price the service is great and the waitstaff are fun. Sometimes the catfish can be the best I have ever had sometimes not.

Very friendly service. Nice local spot. The food takes a while to get to you but the food is always hardy and generously portioned. I like the chicken fried steak the best here. I come here when I need a good home cooked meal.

It’s not the nicest restaurant in town but they offer a wide variety of food and it’s always home-cooked. They offer large portions for a small price. I will be coming back.

This place feels like it should be on Kitchen Nightmares. Old, stale and, worst of all, the food is abysmal. We lack an IHOP or Denny’s here and seem to have no end of geriatric people who prefer their food bland and greasy, so this place continues to exist. I’ve gone for dinner and breakfast, of my own accord, other times I’ve felt obligated to go due to a friend’s invitation and I’m always disappointed. The coffee mugs are a mixed up lot, many from local businesses, which would be charming if they weren’t chipped and coffee stained. The plates? Similarly roughed up. Silverware has come to the table absolutely disgusting. I fear what the kitchen looks like. The bacon… facon? I don’t really know what it is, but it looks more like dog treats than any bacon I’ve made or eaten anywhere else. No restaurant should survive that can screw up something as fundamental to breakfast as bacon is and then serve it on a chipped plate.

Really enjoyed our first visit here for dinner one night so we can back for breakfast today. Big mistake. I ordered a basic breakfast with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. Everything was cold and the eggs are powdered. Yuck! If you’re serving breakfast, at least use real eggs!!!

I have been back to the lil Tex multiple times. I have to admit it is very predictable and what you see is what you get. The food is out of the box cafeteria food I would equate to an 80’s high school menu or a retirement home. The best thing this place has going for it, is location and nothing better competing in the genre on the menu in cove. It definitely isn’t the food.

First of all I eat and when I say I eat… I EAT… As long has a place has some walls and a few chairs and something to eat on I could care what it looks like but that’s just me… Visiting family in Killeen and I can not for the Life of me eat at another McDonalds so I went to my Trusty old Unilocal App to find some Comfort food… The Menu was to my liking and I hopes on in my bucket and hauled it… Got in and was Greeted with nothing but smiles… okay enough of all that… Damn this food was tasty… but places that look like this always are… I Loved it and I’m glad I went… I’ll be back before I head back to Louisiana… #HappyEatingYall

It was alright, nothing to brag about a little costly for being a dinner & not so nice dinning facility. I wouldn’t recommend it. Similar to a hospital atmosphere.

Preferrably no stars. Really weird, old smell. Nothing tastes homemade and with love. Well, maybe love for aluminum cans and tons of grease. You’re better off buying a can of Chef Boyardee or Hormel chili, and it’d taste like 5 stars compared to what’s served at this restaurant. Not good at all.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. Our server was rude, never checked on our table, and didn’t even bring us silverware. It took over a half hour for them to make our food. We ordered pancakes and an omelette. It should not take that long to make simple breakfast foods. The table across from us were obviously waiting a long time too because they ended up walking out before the food arrived. When we got the food it was below average. I Hop produces better food than they ever will. My biscuit was so dry, I couldn’t even attempt to eat it. It lacked flavor and the omelette was so flat and bland. Highly disappointed in the food here considering how many people were eating there. Save yourself patience, time, and your pallet and go somewhere else.

I was very surprised! I had a full rack of ribs and it lasted 3 meals even sharing with hubby. We went in on a Friday and for our family of 4 it totalled $ 32. I about cried. When’s the last time that’s all you spent on dinner? The food we had was great!

Nice place, fast service, and relatively cheap. Always feels nice to be able to sum up the positives succinctly in a review. This place has a very homey feel to it, and I’ve been searching for a real standard breakfast place to be my «regular» stop. This place had promise, and overall it wasn’t a bad experience. Unfortunately, the food is just… plain. Not bad meals, just very plain tasting without nothing to really note. It almost felt like I was just eating at an IHOP or Denny’s. So, while it was a decent meal, and a good price for it, the place didn’t really stand out for me.

My husband and I love this place for breakfast! Cute little country café. A little dated inside but I think it only adds to the charm. The service is always friendly and the prices are extremely affordable. We are not from this area, just here because of the military, but lol tex has become one of our favorites.

True CANC0OKING. Doubt if they can cook from scratch. OLD smell. Old sinking booths. Not worth the trip. School lunch like, overcooked canned food.
