This is one of our favorite spots in the summer with our families 4 little boys(age 6, 5, 4 and 2). Our kids love all the activities and we could spend all day here for several days in a row. We bought the summer season pass for all 4 kids, but really shouldn’t have for the 2yo since he couldn’t/wasn’t interested in most activities. The season pass was about $ 100 but offered many activities like go carts, trampolines, rock climbing, water bumper boats, zip lining, putt putt golf. There was also a playground and large sand box with play houses for free(2yo loved these!). It is never crowded here like the Breck play area can be. They don’t have the alpine slide or coaster like breck but kids have just as much fun and there are NO line waits! Highly recommend checking this out if you have kids!

Nice resort and bit pricey during the winter. The only thing I don’t like is the selection of restaurants.

Honestly, I don’t know what my husband was thinking when he signed me up for snowboard lessons. I think I’m the bigger dummy for saying«yes». But I have to say, I checked the box-and I’ll never do it again. On the other hand, my kids loved it! Signing up for lessons is easy-we actually had some ski lessons for the kids and my husband was told by a friend to try snowboarding. The school was super flexible and even though we had already paid for ski classes they were super accommodating and changed them over with absolutely no hassle. Once you get to the school you check in on their computer system and there was no wait. I would recommend if you have time to get everything ready the night before. We had actually contemplated it but ran out of time. It will save you time and it gets you out on the hills quicker. You’ll have paperwork to sing and you’ll have to get fitted for your board. We had private lessons with an instructor who was super patient and sweet with my boys. The nice thing was we got a ride all the way to the bunny hill so no walking. They do have a magic carpet, but it must have been on another hill? Anyway, I quickly learned that snowboarding was not for me. It was exhausting and I prefer to to ski. The most painful part was wearing the boots-they were so tight and the board was awkward. Like I told my husband, «What do I look like some 20 year old college kid?» Not for me, but if you have tween kids this is the best place to get them lessons for skiing and snowboarding. The slopes here are perfect for beginners. They have a huge area for grabbing some delicious food with lots of choices from hamburgers to pizza to salads. If you go during a busy season its chaotic and they have some outdoor picnic tables to enjoy the gorgeous view of the mountains. Next time we go back you’ll find this Bunny on the bunny hill watching my kids get ski lessons.

My friends and I seem to have a knack for skiing on holidays. So hitting up Copper Mountain on Easter was very appropriate for us. I enjoyed Copper Mountain, here’s why: + The runs! Were all fun. Even my greens felt challenging! Which is awesome! I am new enough to skiing that an intermediate green run is totally my cup of tea. They were also well marked, so you didn’t have to worry about a frightful wrong turn. + The lift lines! We barely had to wait they were so efficient! + The people! All super friendly and courteous. Never thought I was going to get plowed into. + The scenery! Plenty of awesome scenery and spots to take a break with my friends. The only thing I thought was a little strange was that all the runs(at the West Village) seemed to merge into one pretty steep and icy(when we went) run. Even taking the«easy» way down wore out my already tired legs. However, once I knew to expect it I was a-okay! I will totally be back next season!

Came for closing weekend and it was great! Stopped and Flyers Grille off the slope for a beer and it was a beautiful day! The burger wasn’t too great, but hey it was a great stop! There was sitting tables and they had food from chili, waffles, burgers, and hot dogs!

Had a great time at Copper Mountain over Easter Weekend. Had previously snowboarded at Breck and Keystone in January and wanted to try something new. Copper is not as big as the previous two resorts, but I kind of like that about it. Although it was a holiday weekend, we had minimal wait time on the lifts. The cool thing about Copper is that their terrain is divided up really well so you won’t get a ton of beginners mixed in with experienced boarders or skiers. Everyone can be in their own area, and own comfort level. All of the staff were friendly and excited to be on the mountain. Unlike Breckinridge, I thought the food was pretty reasonably priced. We ate lunch in the center village two different days and got out of there without a huge bill. Including drinks. As for Apres and nightlife, I can’t speak much to that since we were so wiped after boarding all day that we didn’t make it out for drinks or anything. But there are a few cool bars and restaurants in center and east village that I would be interested to check out next time. We were able to find a super reasonable Airbnb studio condo right in East Village about 200 yards from Super Bee. Staying at the resort is really what made the trip so great, as we have stayed with friends or in Denver during past trips. If you’re not looking to break the bank, I definitely recommend looking into an Airbnb situation and seeing if you can find something at the resort! It’s so nice to wake up and walk straight onto the lift. I would definitely go back to Copper Mountain!

Really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Copper. We booked directly through them which made everything very easy with rentals, lift tickets, and lodging. Passage Point was more than acceptable but it is about a 200 yard walk back to the condo. The lockers provided in Passage Point very convenient. The town is very nice, clean, and full of different things and places to check out. Staff throughout the resort was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely return!

Before we got to our room, our trip was 5 stars all around. Colorado received lots of new snow, we walked around nearby Breckenridge & were having a great time. Unfortunately, that would all change soon. The past few years we’ve booked condos through VRBO/AirBnB and had very good luck. This year we found a deal through Copper Mtn’s reservation service, so we decided give it a shot. When booking with them, you don’t have any idea what you’re getting. They have«levels» of accommodations but in our case they never told us what we had reserved. Since we’ve had years of good experiences with their rooms, we figured they’d all be good. That assumption would essentially ruin our ski vacation. Our building was«Copper Valley». If they try to book you in this building, refuse, run, call your credit card company, anything but accept the room! Problems encountered during our trip: 1) For some offers, you have to book via the phone. Who does that anymore? We never received a booking confirmation email, assuming they mistyped our easy email address. 2) At checkin, they were at 100% capacity & could only provide a single queen bed, not the king we’d requested at booking. 3) Our room was on the 3rd floor but our building had no elevator, not a huge deal but at 10,000′ elevation, multiple trips carrying bags up is taxing. 4) Our building only has parking spaces for ½ the units. Again, not a huge deal but at 10,000′ elevation the ¼mi walk in the snow to walk back up 3 flights of stairs was tiring. 5) TINY. Maybe that’s why there’s no elevator, you don’t want to carry all your bags up which is good because there’s not enough room. Think large closet with a bed thrown in the corner. 1 random chair in the corner & definitely no desk if you need to setup a computer or heaven forbid, work. 6) The room décor included multiple boogers stuck on the walls, floor, furniture, etc. 7) The walls are paper thin, think of a sheet between beds in a hospital. Not a huge deal if it’s empty and you have no neighbors. In our 1 night there, we became VERY familiar with the people staying next to us(roomates might be a better word). Adding to this fun was that they berated their children for 2 hours to the point we thought about calling CPS(Child Protective Services). Don’t fret though, they settled down and we got to hear them have make popcorn and then loud, regular emphysema style coughing the rest of the night(because, who needs sleep before skiing?). 9) The bed was so uncomfortable that you might as well sleep on the floor(which we noticed was stained, filthy & disgusting during our bed bug check). 10) After getting 2 hrs of sleep & trying to take a warm shower to start the day & enjoy the slopes, we found that not only did you have to keep shampoo /etc on the shower floor because there was no shelves to hold anything but it also had an overwhelming sewer stench coming from the drain. Fun times! After all of that fun, we went to the front desk to see about our options. They said they couldn’t do a refund that but a room change would be possible, however, it wouldn’t be ready for«a bit»(this was at 10:30am). We were still hopeful on salvaging our trip. The front desk said the noisy neighbors were checking out that day, so we decided to try & catch a quick nap so we’d have some sleep before hitting the slopes. Not only were the noisy neighbors there till past 1pm(strange since Copper has a 10am checkout time) but to add to their fun emphysema coughing they were also doing some sort of building maintenance on the roof directly above our room. After an hour listening to that, we decided this trip wasn’t supposed to be, we ate the considerable lift ticket price & started our long drive back to California. When they called at 3:30pm to let us know the room was ready, we were already 2hrs down the road. After returning home, we called to reservations to check on a refund. They said talk to the front desk. The front desk said to talk to reservations. When I finally got someone who could make a decision, they said a refund wasn’t possible because we’d asked for a room change and that they’d upgraded our room to a condo(all news to me since a) they said refunds weren’t an option when we checked 2 days earlier and b) they never mentioned the condo upgrade until days after the fact when I called them). All that for $ 500+ a day for 2 people with lodging /lift tickets & basic level resort food. No thanks, never again.

We have skied Copper Mountain a half dozen times and it continues to be our resort of choice. This review is the experience of staying on the property in Center Village, which for us is worth the cost. I imagine the amenities in East and West Village are comparable. There might be different challenges associated with«commuting» from offsite. 1) Rooms — Unfortunately, you cannot be guaranteed a certain room, you can only book a room in a «village» and are a bit at the mercy of what they have available(this is well advertised when you book). You get the number of beds plus amenities you’re willing to pay for, but it might be a Murphy Bed for instance. Other times, we were upgraded to a full suite with separate bedroom almost the size of a house. This might be one reason I don’t give it five stars, although I understand the challenge of renting out owned units. They do always have in the village you order and what you pay for. Depending on how much you’re willing to spend, you may have a 50 foot walk to the lifts, or a quarter mile, but either way it’s not too far.\ 2) Slopes — We come here for the slopes. As moderate blue skiers, we prefer greens and blues as opposed to blacks. And Center and West Village are full of greens and blues. So many, you don’t get bored(unlike other mountains that have just one or two very crowded greens with beginners). The lift lines at the bottom can get long, but when you stay at the resort, you have access to purchase the«Secret Pass» which gets you a short line to the front. It’s a real time saver on busy weekends, I highly recommend. The slopes themselves are well groomed with a lot of variety(long, short, steep, sweeping, moguls, etc.). They are relatively easy to navigate, although sometimes you might end up on a different run than intended as they have a tendency to crisscross a lot; it helps to have a map. They also have several freestyle terrain areas(pipes, jumps, etc.) for the advanced skier. Lifts are open 9a — 4p most days(open earlier on weekends). It’s also very easy to grab lunch on the slopes with a number of options in the villages and spread throughout the terrain. 3) Village — The village has everything you need in terms of shopping, food, groceries, etc. There’s even an ice skating pond(it looks like bring your own skates, they used to rent them but I didn’t see that option). Of course, food can be pricey, but that is understandable given the challenge of getting the food here. They have a very active Apres/Happy Hour scene with live music in a variety of locations, and drink and food specials(3p — 6p). Because this is a family place, things are not that jumping in the evenings(they had one night club that seemed to be closed last time). It might pick up for spring break. We typically purchase breakfast items from the grocery store(eggs, waffles, juice, sausage) and eat in the room to save time in the morning. There’s also grab and go type breakfast options(Belgian Bean Waffles, Camp Hale Coffee). Dinners are mostly American fare, the nicest place is CB Grille, but Incline and Endo’s have everything you need, including a HUGE local beer selection(dozens) 4) Services — The ski rental center is conveniently located and easy to navigate(at least at Center Village). They have a wide variety of products from Sport, Performance, and Demo packages of both skis and snowboards. Their ski shop is very well stocked with any extras you forgot(like sunscreen or gloves). Everyone in the shops and restaurants and on the slopes is very friendly, asking how your day is going, advising you on the latest slope conditions, etc. As I mentioned, the Secret Pass is a great deal if you can get it for busy weekends. On non-busy times, the lift lines are almost just walk up so it’s not as worth it. We will likely continue to come here, only reason we might not is after all these years the slopes we do, while plentiful, are a bit repetitive.

If you are going to go tubing, DONOTGOTOCOPPER. TERRIBLE. We had a group of 9, spent $ 200 and we got in 3,(YESTHREE) runs. More time standing around waiting than tubing. Plus, they had one run closed, but that did not seem to stop them from selling the same amount of tickets… Stinks to see yet another company more interested in raking in your money than they are trying to keep you happy and a returning customer. Ski resort is not big like a vail or even keystone but that was one of pros for me. You dont need to walk and carrying your ski for long time. Lift was really close from parking compare to keystone. It was right there. I was suprised. And snow condition was good. It is not as known as other resorts around this. So there were not many people. Still this resort has beautiful back bowl and many slopes you cant even try it. Ski school was amazing. Price is almost half from vail and my hudsband’s group only two people. It was like private lesson. My lesson was wonderful too:) I will definitly go back:)

We went the last week of February, and it was probably one of the best ski experiences I’ve ever had without having to pay an arm and a leg(cough Aspen). — Download the Sherpa App; it not only tracks your top speed and average speed, but also which runs you went down, in what order, and how long each run took, by breaking each run down to its own tab and also mapping it all together on a map to include both sides of the mountains. — There is free Snow Cat access, but from what it looks like, they can fit very few people on a ride, and we did see a few people get turned away, so make sure you plan ahead. Heads up, the hike from the drop off is about 45 minutes. — Almost everyone we’ve encountered here during the weekday have been good skiers; almost everyone was in control of themselves and practiced safe skiing. Well, with the exception of one girl who collided with my boyfriend, but that was coming off a lift without a lot of room at the bottom. Let’s just say if I were a kid here, I’d feel safe. — I like to attribute this feeling safe to the fact that the mountain is divided by skill level, with very few intermixing for traverses and such. — Probably one of the best things here are the bowls, which are accessible without hiking, unlike many other resorts, with exception of Tucker Mountain. My advise is check the wind levels the night before and be sure to bring a hankie or a scarf, or you’re going to have less good of a time. — You are able to see a good portion of the bowls and other steeper terrains from the lifts, which allows you to, if needed, strategize which cliffs you want to go off of or which rocks to avoid, ect. — Many of the Green and Blue runs are very wide, which is perfect for accommodating large crowds for the weekends, or let’s you make wide carves if people are sparse. I love, love, love that this place is not as touristy as other resorts. We will definitely be back.

Copper is a great middle-ground resort. With a decent smattering of amenities, less crowds, and intuitive mountain layout, I’ve gotta say I’m a fan. Parking was free on the Sunday we visited, and while waiting on a shuttle can be annoying, it was prompt both on arrival and return, so we had no issue. I can’t say the apres scene was as impressive as some others(cough, A-Basin), but it gets the job done.

Copper mountain is such a lovely low key mountain. It is not as large as breck with only 3 sections(east, west, and center) but that adds to its charm. Since it is just beyond breck and frisco it’s almost an afterthought. There are many more experienced skiers and boarders especially on the east side. The west side has many easier runs and if I were still a novice I could see myself hanging over their for the day. Pro-tips: stop in frisco for groceries and green if staying at copper. WATCH for bus lanes as you exit the resort. There are two lanes and you can get stuck in a bus route trap when there are high snow banks. Definitely try tubing!

Pros: –Free parking and free shuttles to the mountain from the parking lots. –Spacious shuttles –friendly staff — quick process to get lift tickets — half day pricing if you go at noon — many spots to park in the lots — great trails –military deals, buy one get one free deals Cons: — the lifts are not enclosed like they are in vail — the snow is very worn out by noon — the shuttles are very wet and gross by the end of the day when hoards of people are trying to leave.

Copper has been one of my favorite local mountains since moving to Colorado 11 years ago. I love that this is more of a local mountain and doesn’t have as many out of towners and touristy people. And with the military discount on a daily lift ticket you can’t beat it! The staff wherever you go always seems to love their job and provide a smile or helpful advice!

Such a fun resort. Plenty of space, fun runs, and it is well-organized. The resort is basically laid out from hard to easy, with each mountain being nearly 90% one range. Fun, exciting, easy to get to, free parking with a shuttle. What’s not to love?

Copper is my family’s go-to ski mountain for over 15 years! I’ve been carried down in a stretcher after a bad fall here, had heartwarming dates with high school crushes here, made memories with my dad here… All in all, it holds a special place in my heart. Skiing is a passion of mine. My grandpa is a German ex-pro ski racer so you can bet he put all of his children and grandchildren on skis as soon as we all could stand. Of course, one of the best things about living in CO is being able to take day trips to the mountains all season long. With my friends, we often go to Vail or Mary Jane as part of their«Epic Pass,» but Copper will always be my favorite. Lift tickets everywhere are certainly getting expensive, costing $ 120+ daily no matter where you go. For short trips like I usually do, Copper offers a «Four Pack,» four lift tickets at a discount which is usually perfect. When it comes to terrain, Copper offers plenty of variety in runs whether you’re a beginner or expert. For those expert skiers and boarders, it’s easy to stay in advanced terrain without having to cross over to where it might be a little more crowded with tourists and those learning. On powder days, the back bowls are amazing and the glades all the more fun! There are three villages that have plenty of restaurants and places to grab a bite for lunch or dinner. The Copper Station at the bottom of the Super Bee offers lots of lunch specials and is usually our go-to. I got a veggie burger on my last visit and it was quite tasty! If you don’t like skiing, there is a great tubing hill, as well. All in all, I truly love Copper! I think it’s one of the friendliest, perfectly sized ski resorts in the area and definitely a great choice for anyone regardless of level.
