The nearest grocery store is Safeway, down the street about a mile or so. I recommend getting breakfast items because the $ 10.95 breakfast is lacking. There was no coffee, no oatmeal and no milk. They were out of eggs. I’ve never walked out of anyplace without paying but I did so this morning. The receptionist was friendly. The room was relatively clean. I slept well otherwise… just a bit hungry presently.

It’s definitely one of the bigger hotels in Coos Bay. There are quite a few rooms. The parking lot is huge. Lot of big buses and cars with trailers seem to come here for the large parking lot. They have a restaurant with food but haven’t tried it yet. It sits right across from the ocean water. As such the rooms all have a slightly damp smell to them. Some are worse than others. The first room(158) was so bad I had to ask to move rooms after the first night. Couldn’t get accustomed to the smell. Not sure if it was from the workout or something in the air but my chest felt tight all night. Like I couldn’t breathe right. The second room was much better, but still had that same damp smell and feel. I got used to it as it was very mild and I felt like I could breathe normally. The first room the AC/heater was controlled from the unit. It didn’t seem to work. It just stayed on all night. The second room the control was on the wall and it actually worked on «auto» mode. It would turn on and off automatically. The rooms are on the spacious side. They all have a microwave and mini-fridge. The showers have really good water pressure. The beds were actually pretty comfortable with the usual pillows of varying softness. They have free wifi. Speeds range drastically. It was going 3mbs download and 2.5mbs upload when I first got there. When I tried using it in the evening during peak hours it was completely unusable. It wouldn’t even ping it was so slow. The gym(if you call it that) is a converted room with 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 bike, 1 bench, and some free weights. They do have water and towels. Each machine has a TV on it but you need your own headphones to get audio. The TV in the corner was not working. They have an outdoor pool and hottub. Didn’t try it yet. All in all it is serviceable and probably the best hotel you will find in Coos bay.

Best hotel in North Bend/Coos Bay. I recommend it to all my fellow flight crews. They have an airport shuttle, and Excellent customer service! I spoke to 2 very helpful women at the front desk, and the Owner or manager, and all 3 were extremely helpful! The rooms are a little older, but the customer service was so good, this will be my #1 pick hotel in North Bend /Coos Bay. Also, good rates, good strong WIFI, and breakfast included. Thank you to the very helpful staff! Especially Teresa!

Unless you have to stop, just keep going. This is the worst Red Lion. It’s basically a motel at hotel rates with only a slightly better bed. It is «pet friendly,» they allow dogs for a fee, give your dog a treat and send you on your way, but there is no where to take pets to relieve themselves except a few rocky landscaped areas. The rooms smells like dog pee. Rooms are not sound proof, I can hear the neighbors and their dogs. The pool is right alongside the highway. I don’t even know why they bother with a pool.
