I think this is my favorite pizza place I have been to so far within the Cooperstown and Oneonta area. The crust is nice and thin, but has good structure, great outer crunch, is not burnt, and is not greasy. They do not skimp on the toppings. They also have a great lunch deal of two slices and a drink for $ 5. I think it’s a good deal because the slices are the nice big slices, and I have been to other places in the country where $ 5 gets you one meager slice and maybe a drink. The other thing I like about New York Pizzeria is their Chicken Parmesan, for a pizza joint it was pretty good, and they also have delicious meaty subs. The Chicken Parmesan also retained that nice fried crunch, instead of getting overly soggy like at other places once the sauce and cheese are put on top. The portion is also very good and can easily feed two people. Their straight up pasta, like spaghetti, is not so great. Mainly due to the sub par sauce. This may just be a taste preference. My overall experience so far has been satisfying and the servers are nice and helpful.

Stopped in as we were driving through the area. Loved the layout of this casual, family restaurant. We ordered the mozzerella sticks, bbq pig wings, a chicken cutlet parm hero and a small cheese pie. The mozz sticks are battered not breaded but the batter is light and crisp, not heavy at all. The pig wings are delicious little chunks of pork tossed in bbq sauce and still on the bone – a little chewy but still delicious. The chicken parm hero really could have been much better. Strips and chunks of dry chicken cutlet instead of a nice whole cutlet. sauce was a little too sweet and the bread didnt have that delicious chewy bite. More like a crumbly mess. The pizza had great flavor, i just wish it had that true New York thin crispy crust – this is a little more doughy but still has great flavors. You have to bus your own tables – no big deal there. We also got cannoli and raspberry cake for dessert but i havent tried those yet. Bottom line, come for the pizza and mozz sticks, skip the rest. **update** When my husband and i went back to our hotel room, we ate our desserts. My husband’s cannoli did not have that crunchy cannoli shell but rather the soft, mushy shell that you get when u pre-fill cannoli and leave them sitting in the fridge. My raspberry cake was definitely pre-made didnt really have any fresh flavors –wasnt bad, wasnt great, but the worst part was the mold i found on it after i had eaten quite a but! I originally gave 3 stars but the mold makes me drop it down to 1. Sorry New York Pizza! Bottom line, skip it altogether!!!

Well… the rumors are true… New York pizza, is indeed the best pizza there is… Yes, even all the way upstate. Doesn’t matter what kind of pizza you order here, you will not be disappointed. There’s never much of a wait, even around lunch time. One of my favorite spots in Cooperstown!

I remember when this spot was a deli, then the Baseball Jalapeño, then Tino’s. I miss Tino’s, my sister might be the reason they started seeing pizza with cold cheese(yum!), but Art has done a masterful job of making NYP a locals favorite while still catering to the seasonal folks too. Pizza here is delicious, reasonably priced, and the kitchen is spotless. Art runs a right ship, food is ready on time, locals get greeted by name at the door. NYP is excellent to the community, providing good for events, sponsoring sports teams, and they are always ready to pitch in for fundraisers. They do serve beer and wine, but the focus is the food and the family atmosphere. Pizza is the best in town, hands down. Calzones and wings are excellent, as are subs and sandwiches. They’ve recently renovated, and now have tons of seating upstairs and down, parking is a little tight but you’ll find a spot easily enough.

Definitely recommend this place. Pizza was delicious, staff was really friendly and the place is very clean. Worth the walk or drive from main st. We ordered 2 large pies 1 pepperoni, 1 plain, plus 5 drinks, bill came to $ 40. Little more money than I like to spend on pizza but the place was so nice I wasn’t to upset.

I came here about 10 years ago when this place opened as Tony’s NY pizzeria. I never really was a fan. Until now. I’m not sure if they are under new ownership or what, but they are doing something right. Pizza was delicious and hit the spot! I don’t mind their sweet sauce because it sets it apart a from other pizzas. And their slices are super cheesy made with quality cheese it seems like. The place itself is quaint, clean, and a definite hangout spot for anyone. Sorry I haven’t come here sooner!

The pizza was good and the place was clean. The service was amazing and they are very hospitable. My only problem was the pizza was missing something. I thought it was the cheese, buy I could taste the good quality of mozzarella. I believe it was the sauce that was too sweet. The crust was baked perfectly and topping were fresh. The portions are generous for a group of four. Three stars for the pizza and an extra star for the amazing quality of services. I recommend coming here if having a little sweetness in your pizza sauce is not a big deal.

I don’t care if it’s not Manhattan or wherever you’re supposed to get true NY pizza. This is the part of the state I was driving through, and this pizza was freaking incredible. I’m no authority on NY-style pizza, but this is exactly what I was expecting. A quick, big slice that I could bend in half and shovel into my face. Two slices and a drink for $ 5. Cheapest lunch my wife and I had on our entire 10-day trip. Loved every bit of it, and when I’m back in Cooperstown someday, this is probably where I’m eating again.

Stopped by here this past weekend, during one of our twice a year visits to Cooperstown. Delicious food. We ordered the baked ziti & eggplant parm; certainly was enough for two. Great, friendly, warm, courteous service. Would recommend & will return.

We found this place on Unilocal because my wife was craving pizza during our stay in Cooperstown. We were a little hesitant because we wanted table service(this is an «order and we bring it to you place») but we tried it anyways. Everything was good! Pepperoni pizza was warm and tasty. Chicken parmigiana was yummy! Too bad we are only down in one night here!

First pizza I had since moving from Brooklyn to Cooperstown and actually was surprised with taste and quality. No it’s not amazing pizza from NYC but I think it is definitely better than Sal’s(The other pizza place in town) except the garlic knots.

I’ve never had real NYC pizza from the actual city(that’s on the list for later in the week). We were kind of beat after a day doing the cooperstown thing and wanted to just have something quick and cheap. Pizza was tasty. Crust wasn’t cracker thin, but pretty thin and had a nice yeasty chewiness. Toppings were good, but really greasy. Reminded me, in a good way, of mall pizza from when I was a kid. Definitely different than Buffalo style pizza. Wings were just ok, kind of a soggy mess. Being from Buffalo, it’s hard to understand how no one can get wings right. Just fry them and shake them in Frank’s hot sauce — done. These were passably ok. Service was kind of weird. You get a table, then go up to the counter and order, then they bring it out to your table. The waitress /bus girl was really friendly and was busting her ass serving and clearing tables. Pizza was a nice size and the leftover pizza made a good lunch the next day! Edit — a few days later I did make it into NYC and had a couple of slices at Joe’s Pizza. According to a few blogs, that’s the one place to try if you are only going to try one place. The stuff here was pretty close to Joe’s. This was a slightly thicker crust and chewier crust compared to Joe’s thinner and crispier. But, I did pass a few other shops that had pizza that looked similar to here. The overall flavor was pretty similar, so I think you could call this«authentic»!

Great little pizza shop on a corner on the way into Cooperstown. We ate here last night and were back again the following day for lunch. Good New York style pizza, good wings and a good cheese steak. The pasta was slightly overcooked but lots of kids like it that way. Good sweet pizza sauce, good marinara. This is a great place to stop when you are in Cooperstown and you need some quality pizza.

This is a great place for families – we went here after Cooperstown Dreams Park and found a «private» section of the restaurant that fit three different families. There’s something for everyone on the menu(much more than just pizza) and the prices are excellent. I had a good and generous size chicken parm dinner for only $ 8.50. The eggplant parm was delicious too. This is your classic American«red sauce» Italian kind of place.

I don’t live in Cooperstown, but I make sure to come to New York Pizzeria whenever I’m in town. Being a vegan, it’s sometimes difficult to find pizza places with adequate choices. That being said, Art and his team at NYPC are some of the most accommodating and friendly people I’ve ever come across! The crust is a perfect consistency, and they’ll of course add any toppings that you like. They’re even willing make a pie with vegan cheese that I purchase around the corner at the natural foods store. All in all, the pizza is incredible, and the diversity in their menu is great for pleasing large groups or families with the pickiest of eaters. I never leave NYPC hungry; they’ve got the best slices in all of upstate New York.
