Waaaaaaay overpriced and they know they have you by the short hairs when you need a repair. I hate crap like that. $ 199.00 to «re-balance» a door. Seriously, well balance on this!!!

Interested in the hard sell? Interested in having your afternoon sucked away by a sketchy sales guy blocking your alley? Interested in price gouging? Then by all means… call these guys. Sales guy showed up. Eventually gave me a price after annoying sales shtick. When I said I’d be getting a second bid, price magically dropped by $ 450 bucks, but only if I purchased that evening. This was after a number of trips to his alley clogging van. I cannot over state how annoying this interaction was. At one point I just left my backyard and went in the house. I wished I had just told this guy to leave and released my German Shepherd into my backyard. I have small children. I have a life. I don’t like being screwed with and I hate having my time wasted. Even if their price(after the magical drop) was relatively competitive, I’d rather swim in a pool of razor blades than give my business to a company with these sorts of practices. We went with a different company with a similar price, less douchey sales practices and efficient estimating.

Bryan came out and looked at my garage doors. I knew I needed some maintenance on one door and a new opener on another. He gave me options and a fair bundled price. Same day service and reasonable pricing. Plus Brin and his fellow installer were friendly, quick, and professional. I had no issues and would use them again.

I don’t necessarily enjoy writing negative reviews about a business, however, in the interest of protecting fellow consumers I think we all have an obligation to raise public awareness when a company uses less than honest tactics. I found Reliable Garage Door at a home improvement show in Maple Grove. I explained to them that I had a fairly new garage door that was out of kilter and needed adjusting. They said they could look at it the next business day. Two men showed up the next day and instantly determined that the door wasn’t worth repairing and offered a new door at a cost of $ 1, 400.00. I was a bit disturbed given the existing door was not that old. I asked about correcting the existing door. They quoted me $ 1, 000.00. I told them that was much higher than I anticipated. They offered to «take payments.» After they left, I found someone on Craigslist. He has been in the business for 35 years. He quoted $ 80 over the phone. I was skeptical but I agreed. An hour later he arrived. An hour and fifteen minutes later the door worked beautifully. Total charge-$ 80.00. I won’t give the name of this gentleman as it would appear that I’m promoting his business. Take the time to get bids… you’ll be amazed.

Okay so I actually called a place where a solicitor had placed a coupon on my door. The operator at Reliable door was wonderful, set up an appointment when it was covenient for me. I called ahead to explain the make and model and what I thought the garage opener needed in parts. They told me they would call ahead 15 minutes. I booked between 5 – 7. At 4:45 I got a call for a 5 p.m. arrival time. Joe Kill came exactly at 5 p.m. He was wonderful, listened to me and did what I wanted even though we both knew the opener should be replaced. I just wanted the parts and no more. He had them available and in a timely manner. I totally recommend them!

Had a spring break on my 8′ x 16′ insulated garage door. I called a few places that threw a price at me. Sight unseen. Some of them charged $ 29 just to come out for an estimate. I did get a ballpark figure for what I needed. When I called Reliable, they gave me an honest reply to my question for a quote. All doors are different, but the would come out for free and give me an estimate. They arrived on time and they did give me an estimate for the best springs and other repairs that would be best for me. He was truthful about the repairs needed and about the service life for the different options. He made me aware of other future issues with my garage door. He showed me and I agreed that these other items needed attention. I did not feel pressured, I expressed my need for an economical repair and he explained what kind of service life I could expect from this option. These guys knew what they were doing. Perfectly balanced garage door tension. Great advice on services needed. Sorry to all the people that search for Spring Break and get this … LOL

Horrible up sellers!, we only had one broken cable, and a bent track and it cost $ 1,133. I am so upset that we trusted them. I am sick that we didn’t get a second estimate PRIOR. Come to find out the repairs should have been less than $ 500. I will be filing complaint with BB. They recommended and completed repairs that we’re completely unnecessary.

Thankfully, I had the sense to get a second quote. These guys come out and put the full-court press on you with the upwell. It’s possible they do wonderful repairs. I don’t know because I will never have them come to my house again. From the moment the guy looked at my door and I told him we just needed the spring replaced, he started up-selling HARD, eventually getting the bill to $ 1275. He said he was ‘required’ to tell me about all these issues, which may be true, but the hard press was clearly on making sure I spent the maximum amount. No thank you.

Our door had begun reversing itself when trying to shut. Happens in afternoons in hot sun. Even though there was no urgency the technician came quickly, and assessed the situation as a weakness of design in our old Genie system: sunlight on the motion detectors was causing the door to reverse. I was pleased that he came up with such a simple solution which did not require any immediate action. I opted to have the very worn rollers replaced after receiving a cost estimate. Yes, the technician did suggest a cost deal if I should decide to replace the old operator mechanism, along with new springs and cables, but did not push it. At some point the work will have to be done but I chose not to do it now. I think these kinds of suggestions are common practice in this business. In summary, they got here fast, provided a simple solution, and made a non-pushy suggestion for eventual replacement before something breaks. A couple of weeks later I had Reliable come back to replace the old operator mechanism I had decided to keep trying. Its performance kept getting worse. Excellent installation of new LiftMaster system which works smoothly and reliably now. Installer(Josh) respected my request to avoid replacing wires and brackets where not needed, and all works well. Excellent company.

I had these guys out to repair my commercial garage door. One of my guys was backing in his truck and ran into the rails. It knocked one side of the door partial of and it was in danger of falling. They came out ridiculously fast and got the door secure and shut for the night. They came out the next day to finish the repair. They gave me pricing before they did any work and their guys were awesome. I believe I found my commercial door vendor!

Torsion spring was broken and they came out to replace that. No estimates are given over the phone. The technician recommended changing the rollers and adding struts in addition to replacing the broken spring. Total cost nearly $ 700. I was shocked. $ 200 for springs, $ 188 rollers and $ 129×2=$ 258 for struts. I asked to replace just the spring and the technician literally indicated he won’t do that. I don’t want to inconvenience my tenant, so I just get the job done. They did a good job but are really pricey. Later I find online pricing for these things, I could have easily saved $ 200-$ 300. I think these companies need to be more honest with homeowners about costing. Reasonable pricing and less pushy sales can get you more business and recommendation. Sorry, will not hire them again.
