Dad’s second time here, first time for Mom and I. Dad got the Señor Grande and Mom and I shared the Chimi Grande. The Chimi Grande is HUGE. The menu says you won’t leave hungry and that’s the truth. It is amazing! You can buy their spicy sauce by the pint and if you bring your jar back you get $ 1 off! Gotta keep it refrigerated! We are coming back before I leave town, for sure! Oh! And ask to sit in Mandi’s section! She’s awesome! :)

Good hometown feel, priced a little high. Biscuits and gravy are hands down the best around.

Love, love, love this place… It’s been here since the 1940’s-that alone says something great about this place. Service is great, prices are crazy good & the food is to die for(kidding). Everything I’ve ever eaten here has been awesome. Somehow I keep going back for the biscuits & gravy. But, everything is great.

Finally cool enough to take the bike out! Decided to head out to Coolidge for what I hoped would be a great breakfast… so happy to say we were not disappointed! Went out this past Sunday, we arrived about 11:30, there were four of us and we all had breakfast. Each of us had something different and we all VERYMUCH enjoyed our meals. It took a little longer for the food to come out, but when it did, it was hot & fresh, and worth the wait! Our server was friendly and made sure we always had drink re-fills. As it has been said, this is not a fancy restaurant, but a down home café with ‘feel-good’ comfort food. I, for one, am looking forward to a return visit!

If you’re looking for fancy, this isn’t the place for you. But if you’re looking for a classic small town diner, with plain décor and down home atmosphere, then this might be your place. I would have sprung for the whole 5 stars, except I feel the staff has not always been as friendly as I like, but they are my go-to breakfast stop in the area. I like small town diners, because they’re real, and they don’t try to be something they’re not. Well, this place is as genuine as they come, and I recommend you give them a try.

Tag’s is a small town diner. They carry all the classics(omelettes, sandwiches, burgers) as well as simple takes on regional items(read: mexican food). The service is friendly and the serving ware is always clean. I have a hard time asking for much more than that when this is the best club sandwich for 30 miles.

Tag’s Café on Arizona Boulevard in Coolidge, AZ is the happening place for American food. They also service Mexican food but I always choose from the American side because I am very particular about Mexican food. Tag’s has been run efficiently by Richard and Janice since 2005 and the wait staff are always friendly. There’s a moderate wait time for meals because the place is not only busy during peak hours but the food is prepared fresh to order. The clientele enjoy the easy-going atmosphere of Tag’s because customers may stay as long as they wish. With a renovated back room, there’s always plenty of seating. Tag’s is a favorite eating place for locals, tourists, and motorcycle touring groups. Biscuits and gravy are a favorite as are the sandwiches, hamburgers, and New York cut steak. And, for an All-American breakfast, Tag’s Café is the best place in town.

The best homestyle cooking in town! #2 Breakfast, Country Fried Steak, is the best! Very chill, old country western environment. Love it!

This place is awesome. Yes it is older. Yes it is a no frills ambiance and the interior is fairly basic. Unless that is what you are coming for… if you want EXCELLENT food at a fair price… this is the place. I sometimes have issues with eating out because of the quality of products used that don’t agree with me because I am a gastric bypass subject. I have NEVER had anything ordered from here bother me. We have come for anything from breakfast to dinner and every single time it has been fantastic. If you are driving by, don’t let the appearance of numerous motorcycles out front«scare» you off. They are there because it is a frequent stop for those taking scenic rides thru the area. They are not the«big bad scary illegal biker gang» types. This is definitely a family type place. This is a very small town so there are many of the customers that are there like clockwork even to just sit around drink coffee and catch up on the past week’s events and happenings. They have abundant seating plus counter seating and even on what seems their busiest times, we have never had to wait for a table. Love Love Love

Great little place in town! After a long scary hike on Picacho peak and a tour of the U of A Biosphere 2 this was the perfect place to finally get a delicious warm meal that hit the spot! I got chicken fried steak with gravy hashbrowns, 2 eggs, and rye buttered toast! Way better than Denny’s any day and their portions were so generous! Delicious meals for a great price! My husband got the Tag’s mexican dish special: green chili enchiladas and shredded beef tacos! We left full and satisfied on our way home to Tempe! Perfect place if your passing through the town and are hungry for some delicious food! I love that they have a breakfast menu all day! Highly recommended and my food was cooked perfectly!

We always try to stop here when we’re driving between the Phoenix airport and north Tucson. Very good diner food, great prices, nice employees! You can’t go wrong with any item that includes green chiles and cheese. This is a local diner, so you’re going to see a lot of locals, wait staff that banters, the cowboy running the register. Menu items include everything from breakfast all day to hamburgers to full dinners. A good alternative to any fast food joint.

Pretty darn good. It’s a busy place for an obvious reason! Very good prices and fills you up just the right amount. I really enjoyed the chicken fried steak. And the french fries. I will def be coming back here!

Where small-town mom-and-pop diner meets small town mom-and-pop diner. They did a great job with quick service. Food is what is to be expected from a diner with breakfast served all day. They also offer Mexican food options. I had a breakfast meal this go around and it was enjoyable though not mind-blowing. Definitely needed salt and pepper… maybe hot sauce. Good, quick food with a small hometown flare. Definitely recommended.

The place looked closed but we looked and people were eating inside. Came in and sat down and we’re ignored for over 10 minutes. We got up to leave and all the sudden they wanted to help us. Sort of. I had to beg for a tea refill and when we got the food it was decent but VERY greasy and tough even after my grandmother explained her dietary restrictions. We won’t be back and and her tip will probably be as doubtful as her service. I know waitresses work hard for their income but this lady either wasn’t cut out for it or decided we were uneducated country bumpkins.

[Solid 3.5 stars but not quite enough to round up to 4… at least 4 stars by Coolidge standards for sure.] Ask a local where to go for lunch and this is one of 2 places that they mention. This a total classic local diner. The place where the locals have come for years and with good reason, the staff know them by name and the place has good food, classic American and Mexican favorites. While my travel mates went for the burgers and fries(which they thoroughly enjoyed), I went for the Daily Special. On this day the special was Meatloaf. mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and Texas toast. The portions are generous. The mashed potatoes and gravy quality. The meatloaf was much better than expected. My favorite thing on the plate though was the buttered Texas toast. So good that I now that I think of it my mouth waters. Toasted to perfection and buttery as all heck. If I go back I am getting their grilled cheese on Texas toast. While you are in town make some time to stop and see Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. The largest know 2 story Native American structure.

I have passed by Tag’s Café on my motorcycle many times while riding through Coolidge on my way to anywhere out of the relentless desert heat(like lovely Bisbee). Many riders told me it is a great place to eat at, so when one of my riding groups decided to go there, I just had to try it. First and most important, they are a very motorcycle friendly place to eat with plenty of great parking. Second, they have great food! I love their hash browns — I am pretty sure they were really homemade and not out of a freezer bag because they tasted so good. Try them with Tags homemade salsa — mmmm. You will love this place! Service is excellent. Prices are very reasonable. I will definitely return soon.
