Who would’ve thought that in the little town of cool there is a gourmet restaurant that is very very good. Unfortunately for us we came during the week where they have a very nice but limited menu with burgers and tri tip and pizza etc. we had excellent Fish and chips and the skipper had a pulled pork plate that was just right with very good cole slaw next time we come we will definitely come on the weekends when the owner expands the menu to include such wonders as crab and shrimp stuffed manicotti. excellent service and a very good beer menu makes the trip from Auburn well worthwhile

We enjoyed the service, atmosphere, price & food! My husband and I just dined here this weekend, as recommended by a local B&B(Enchanted April Inn). I liked the color scheme and the art on the walls; the atmosphere was welcoming but also romantic. All 3 of the servers were helpful to our table throughout the night. My husband ordered the Pulled Pork which he enjoyed and was full from, and I ordered the Chicken Pesto Wrap. The house salad wasn’t anything special that I added, but the wrap was delicious with the aioli! My husband also ordered 2 craft beers which were only about $ 4 each. Overall, we would really recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting nearby!

Found this gem on a work trip. Some co-workers and I all ordered different items and shared. I was amazed that from seafood to pasta, to burgers to pizza I could not tell you which one I liked better. Everything tasted great.

Ordered BLT. Supposed to be «Piled high with Applewood smoked bacon» and«heirloom tomato». 3 strips is not«piled high» and beef steak is not what I think when I read«heirloom»… I was expecting something different and special. Didn’t expect the criss cut fries, though(usually only come with the burgers), so that was nice, but they were underdone, so not THAT nice. Also, bite of coleslaw(they call it a «garnish») was pretty good… why only a garnish? It’s literally only 1 bite, served in those little condiment containers, like a jello shooter. Bread could have been a little more toasted… not really crisp, more like stale texture. Too bad. Basically underwhelming. For $ 10 I’d rather have had something from American River Pizza, The Divide or Terry’s, but the whole office agreed on this spot. This is 3rd such experience… not sure I’ll go for a 4th.

I spent over 30 minutes trying to call in a takeout pizza order. Then drove down and went in the front door to the cash register and told the blond that I had been trying to call in my order and the line was busy for 30 minutes? She looks at the phone and then goes, «Oh, it was never turned off. Then the owner comes over and she brings it to his attention, he then proceeds to tell me to go to the back door and order my pizza. Never made me do that before… bad move, because then I see once in the back door the kitchen is full of Sysco cans of pizza sauce, pork & beans, canned tomatoes, green beans and more. Wow, that is farm to fork, per their menu, not in my world. Then I had to wait 45 minutes for my pizza and when it was brought to the counter in the back room, I asked about my onion rings and the young man goes, oh, yeah. Back went the pizza and another 10 minute wait for the onion rings. I love supporting our local businesses, but did not feel like I was supported tonight as a local customer and really lied to about farm to fork, so will be questioning if I support the business anymore.

This little gem is AMAZING!!! We stopped in here after kayaking all day! The owner Dennis is honestly the best owner of any restaurant I’ve ever been to and believe me I eat a lot and travel for a living so that’s a big statement. He made sure all four people at our table were serviced the entire meal. There was not one moment we needed to ask for anything. The food was absolutely unreal. Two people had the filet mignon, one had a Texas burger and the other a supreme pizza. Wish I took pictures of our food, but it was too good to waste time taking a photo. We were able to sample the BBQ pork after our meal and let me tell you I wish I ordered the ribs or pork! I will be back before I have to fly home to make sure I grab this dish! Thank you Dennis and your staff for making our dinner absolutely amazing! I wouldn’t change a thing! Not too many owners are like you!!! Every person that came through he hugged. Thank you for an amazing and unforgettable experience!

Exceptional. Four meals: salmon, steak, linguini, and manicotti, all wonderful. First steak correctly cooked in a long while. Staff was great. Nice wine list. Small and intimate. Price was reasonable. Will definitely return.

Excellent food! Husband had a full rack of slow smoked Memphis ribs by the Pit Master Dennis and my Sous-vide filet mignon was as good as Ruth’s Chris and a lot less pricey. Perfectly paired with a nice bottle of Lodi Barbera.

This place is amazing! Stopped here on the way back home from getting our Christmas tree. We ordered fried pickles, which were very tasty and had some of the best lobster bisque I’ve had in years! My burger was very good and had a wonderful flavor, but we will be coming back for the BBQ! We are from the Deep South and moved to CA recently & had yet to find any decent BBQ out here, but when we started chatting with the owner, it turns out he’s a pit master from Memphis, TN! This man knows how to do it right and his homemade slaw is fantastic! We are just so happy to have somewhere to go when we get those BBQ cravings. It’s about an hour drive for us, but we will make it again, soon!

Nothing is cooler than hanging out in a town dubbed Cool, California. While driving to Sutter Creek for our Labor Day Weekend getaway we happened to stumble upon this place. Cute and cozy with a very friendly guy running the place on a Saturday afternoon. He knew his stuff when it came to their wine selection and helped me pick out a glass. We didn’t eat so I can’t comment on the food but by the reviews here on Unilocal, this place is top notch and I will definitely be back to eat. Their bar is small but inviting. The restaurant area is clean and their back patio area is awesome. I can’t wait to come back here and try the food.

New to the area … didn’t feel like cooking… stopped by to check it out. Very impressed with the food and the wine that Dennis served us. We will be regulars from now on… Thanks for the hospitality Dennis!

Visited on a Thursday evening with the family. A bit out of our way, but well worth the drive to Cool. This might sound funny but my favorite part of my dining experience had to be our waitress! She was tots beyond adorable. She was friendly, sweet, engaging and really went above and beyond… honestly it might be some of the best service I have ever received in a restaurant, because it genuinely felt like she really cared about our experience and eating happiness. Food was pretty good too

Drove from Auburn to Cool to check out Cork and Fork on the strength of the Unilocal reviews. There have been times when Unilocal was pretty far off, but in this case, I would have to agree that Cork and Fork is a five star experience! The waitress was super friendly and there wasn’t a crowd, so we seated and ordered our onion rings right away. The onion rings are made from frozen, but they were super delicious, seasoned perfectly, with a lot of onion flavor, so who cares where they come from! My Sweetie ordered the tri-tip«neat» sandwich, and professed it to be the best tri-tip he’s tasted; tender, juicy, and perfectly smoked. The house BBQ sauce is really good, too(I tried some on a fry). Since I don’t eat mammal, and it wasn’t time for pizza or calzones yet(4pm is when they fire up the pizza oven), I had the pesto chicken wrap, and it was super good, with fresh veggies, perfectly grilled onions, tasty chicken(mine was just grilled, not blackened, per my request) and a lovely pesto that was not overbearing. Ordered a side of fries(you can add sides to the meal for a pretty low price) that we split. The wrap and the sandwich were both big enough that, with rings and fries, we only ate half, and took the rest home for later! Excellent selection of beers(my Sweetie ordered a Moose Drool, great Montana brewery) and a good wine list. Waitress was attentive, warm, and helpful, and we got everything we could possibly want, expediently. The restaurant is about 3 years old, but you can tell they put a lot of effort into upkeep and cleaning and it shows. The décor is understated and modern, and quite classy for a BBQ place. The Executive Chef is a renowned Pit Master, and you can tell from the quality of the meats and BBQ. We had an excellent experience, and will definitely go back. They’re opening a fine dining restaurant next door to the Cork and Fork, and so am excited to try that, too. Bonus– there was a shaved ice truck parked across the street, so got to enjoy that favorite treat for dessert!

Probably the BEST experience I have ever had at any restaurant. Hands down. 5 stars without a doubt. I’m still sitting in the restaurant and i can’t help but to already write my review. We came in with a party of 11 for my sisters birthday and the owner made us feel like we are having dinner at home telling stories, made us very comfortable. Now the food. I got a half rack of ribs and ordered another half for tomorrow they were so good. Catfish, super good and crispy. Fried zucchini, delicious. I only have one con after all these pros, they aren’t down the street from my house. I’d be here at LEAST once a week. I will absolutely be back here. One of my new favorite places and I look forward to trying other items on the menu. Good job Cork & Fork crew!!!

We stopped in on our travels through the canyon and had a lovely time. The owners were very gracious. We arrived close to closing and they happily served us and spoke with us at length. The food was awesome. We had the ribs and pulled pork. The potato salad was great. The out door seating is quaint. We will be back and highly recommend stopping the next time you want to take a short drive to get some great food.

Not impressed, got a chicken parm that was close to $ 15 and the patty was maybe ¼ inch thick with what im guessing was prego sauce. The waitress didnt seem to care when i mentioned this so i didnt really care to tip, if by chance you do go and try this place, put $ 20 in ones on the table and remove a dollar each time they screw up and you will see what im talking about. This place sucks but because everyone in town knows them they tend to suck up or just simply do not know what good food is

I cannot wait to come back again. Before I elaborate on my experience, let me tell you why you should eat here: — only 6 min from auburn — great beer selection –AMAZINGBBQ– the chef has won many bbq competitions. — the bbq sauce is finger licking good(or eat it off you fingers after scooping it off your plate… like we did) — the onion rings are perfect. Perfectly crispy and not soggy — the take home leftovers are packed with new coleslaw and side because they want you to have a meal experience when you get home. We finished hiking and went to try cork and fork. When we arrived we were greeted with amazing hospitality. Michelle was our first waitress that gave great recommendations and service. After came out Denis who is the chef and owner. He saw that the sun was in our eyes so he lowered the shade for us. Talked to us about his experience and also offered grade A Hospitality. I say hospitality because you feel like family and genuinely feel like they want you to have a great experience. Michelle had to go home so lisa became our waitress. We had: the ribs which just fall off the bone and done in Memphis style. The pulled pork dinner with baked beans. The tri tip sandwich and burger(there was 4 of us). Since it was my birthday the owner brought out the apple tart a la mode and cake pops. so delicious. We devoured it all. Not only was the food absolutely the best I’ve had in a long time but the people are just genuine. I’m in love with this place. If you don’t go here, you’re really missing out.

Came back again and it’s still great! Friendly staff, great wine, FANTASTIC food! We got there and the weather was lovely, so we asked to sit outside. Staff quickly set up to help with that request. Onion rings for starters, were great. I had pulled pork, beans, French fries, and Mac and cheese. All of it was great. I had a salted caramel cake ball and it was amazing!
