We were traveling home to Illinois and this is one of the best donut shops we have ever ran into! Loved it! Great service, awesome donuts, friendly people! Would recommend to anyone

Best doughnuts ever, wish they were open on Sunday that’s my need a fresh doughnut day…

Their apple fritters have no equal, nor do their twists. I brought my family there around 9pm and the place was rockin’. Such a charming and original place, and they keep plenty of cold milk on hand to go with the donuts. Every time my daughter comes home from college we make sure she brings a dozen donuts plus a couple apple fritters.

The boyfriend and I were craving a late night sweet treat while in town visiting his family and I remembered driving by this place, so I suggested it. I’m from Texas so I was curious to see how the donuts would compare. So we walk in… first impression, «wow this place looks incredible and there are so many choices!» Unfortunately, thats all Ralph’s has going for it. We walked up to the counter and the girl helping us couldn’t be more disinterested in helping us… sure she said hello and asked what she could get us, but not without that typical inconvenienced tone you get with most college town help. When I mentioned I had never been there before, she recommended the butter twist, but it was as she was already walking away from us acting as though we had bothered her. When she came back to ask what we wanted I proceeded to ask what they had, to which I received a condescending «what do you want to know?» Let me also add that there are ZERO signs telling you what the donuts offered are so it wasn’t stupid by any means for me to ask what the options were. By this point I was annoyed with her attitude and couldn’t help but be rude back «I would like to know what types of donuts you have since there aren’t any signs.» Finally, although reluctantly, she started naming off what each thing was. I settled on lemon and he got a bear claw. When we left, my boyfriend mentioned that he always preferred Big O’s to Ralph’s so we decided to make a stop there too for a comparison. Here are the results… Big O’s annihilated Ralph’s in everything but selection. While Ralph’s has a huge amount of donuts to choose from, the service and the donuts were both awful. The lemon had a soapy/​chemical aftertaste to it. While the bear claw wasn’t as bad as the lemon, it tasted like gas station quality baked goods.

I am a donut enthusiast and I can honestly say that Ralph’s Donut is one of the best donut places that I’ve been to! I’ve had my fair share of donuts from big cities, but some are not even comparable to the ones at Ralph’s. Not only is Ralph’s cheap and delicious, they also have awesome staffs! The worker was super friendly and waited patiently as my friends and I were being super indecisive as to what we wanted to get. We ended up getting a dozen, because why not. Out of the dozen, I would have to say that my favorite is the blueberry! It’s super light, fluffy and fresh! MHHMMMMMM yums. Be sure to stop by Ralph’s, rated one of America’s best donuts, the next time you’re in Cookeville! And don’t forget to get a cold bottle of milk to go along with those delicious donuts!

Keep in mind that Ralph’s won Tennessee’s Best Donuts of 2015 and that tells you everything you need to know… Ralph’s has been in business long before I was even born and other donut shops cannot compare… Made fresh all throughout the day…

Best Doughnut shop. On the TN Historic Register. Like a soda shop but with doughnuts. Ok, must try it. Maple Bacon Butter twist. It will change your life… or at least that moment of your life. And it’s located in the best little shopping and quaint downtown area in Cookeville. Go to the Depot and History Museum. Shop antiques and cute clothes shopping. Walk off the butter twist… then go back for a dozen to take home.

I have traveled coast to coast several times and have never had donuts that tastes so amazing. The best donuts I have ever had. Their signature twist donut is my go to donut. But every donut and the chest squares are amazing. All the staff are friendly and it’s a great atmosphere. Love. Will travel 10 hours and want donuts every time I get to cookeville.

The only thing better than the donuts is the service! Don’t skip the butter twists.

Was up visiting family and had my kids with me and I said for dessert how about donuts? This is still and will forever be the best donut in all of North America. When I eat any other donuts after 30 minutes I start to burp up a greasy after taste. I had 2 of the glazed and they were so good going down and was pleasantly surprised that no heartburn was to be felt that evening. My kids were so happy that Ralph’s donut shop had all their favorites and their newest one BuTTEr TWIST! Amen to keeping it all real at Ralph’s!

Okay so if you didnt already know, your first time going to ralph’s you get a free donut. My friend and i heard about this when touring Tennessee Tech which is about 5 minutes aways from Ralph’s, so we decided to stop by while on our way out of town. We went through the drive thru and asked the lady about the free donut & she told us we had to come in to get it. We went inside only to hear the employees talking loudly to each other about how annoying we were and how they hated when people came in and asked for free donuts in the back room. We were originally planning on buying something to drink and getting more donuts than just the free one they gave us, but then the lady from the drive thru window came out handed us our donuts and then immediately went back to the back room before we even got a chance to order. I was furious. I will not be going back. Big O’s had better donuts anyways.

Amazing donuts, friendly staff! The donuts were awesome; fresh, soft, and flavorful. We literally had one of every kind! The apple fritter was great!

There is not a donut in the place that isn’t delicious!!! Best I’ve ever had !!! My favorite is the Apple Fritters Ralphs is so good that people in Brentwood know and Love Ralphs donuts too

Best doughnuts in Cookeville… maybe in the mid-​South. Be sure to get the Butter Twists or the Red Velvet doughnuts. AWESOME!!! These are always a hit at a meeting. Stop by and pick up early in the a.m. or even go thru the drive-​thru.
This is a must have if you are in Cookeville.

Quality independent shop! I loved the fact that they gave me a free butter twist because it was my first time in their shop. Large selection of fairly standard donuts. However, while the selection may be status quo the taste is not… these donuts are delicious. I was very impressed with the quality of the donuts considering that I stopped in at 7:30 pm. Will definitely go back.

Ran across Ralphs browsing the Web and this is my hometown favorite. I’ve been everywhere and no one makes donuts like Ralphs. Yum :)

Best donut I’ve ever had. They will even custom make one for you if you don’t see what you want. Delicious. And I’m glad I don’t live too close to this place! Great old fashioned atmosphere… grab a stool and a glass of milk and enjoy the goodness!

Fantastic doughnuts! While I grew up in cookeville I never got over to Ralph’s. This time when visiting family we decided that we had to go. The butter twists and apple fritters were delicious. The butter twists pretty much melt in your mouth. I highly recommend visiting, the customer service and doughnuts are worth it.

How have I not reviewed Ralph’s yet? Ralph’s continuously makes nationwide lists for best donuts and it does not disappoint!
i am a donut head. ralph’s is comparable to any of those big city donuts. we have our fair share of specialty donuts… red velvet, PB&J, pumpkin cream cheese something or another, chocolate covered muffins, glazed of all sorts, twists, and shouts, etc. but my fav: the red velvet. Its comparable to my fav red velvet donut from Gibson’s in Memphis.
If you’re making a pit stop here in Cookeville, DO STOP AT RALPHs. its a cutesy joint in old downtown Cookeville with a great environment and accommodating and patient staff!
