I have worked south Texas and all over Texas and had a lot of Mexican. This is as good as any I have had. Very tasty and good service.

Cookeville has an adundance of Mexican restaurants; Pueblo Viejo may be the most under appreciated. Why? In my opinion it is a combination of market saturation(again, Cookeville has a lot of Mexican restaurants) and location(Algood isn’t exactly seen as a dining hotspot in Putnam County). The thing is, the food here is consistently good, particularly the tacos(in all combinations) and the Fajitas Mexicano. In addition there is never — never — a wait for a table, the waiters are always friendly, and the price is reasonable — what’s not to like? This is my favorite spot when I’ve got to get a table right away and have a quality meal. It’s worth checking out.

This is an okay Mexican restaurant. It is not my favorite. But definitely not bad. I have co-workers that really like it. It is in the middle of Algood, so it’s conveniently located if you need a hot meal, quick, and handy.

It’s Mexican. It’s the only game in town. No alcohol or beer sold. Service is not attentive. Lunch portion adequate. Lunch chicken fajitas were $ 7.99. PROS Accepts Smart Cards Local Clean CONS service quality You’re much better off going 10 minutes away to El Tapatio on Jefferson Avenue.
