Surprised at all the super negative reviews. Well, not really, because this is Unilocal and people can’t wait to whine about something. So I want to provide some balance and perspective here. I’ve eaten at probably close to a dozen different Thai places in my life, and I would put this one close to the top, a slight notch below the best. Yes, I am giving it 5 stars(probably deserves 4) to counteract some of the 1-star fools who love to crush places. Curmudgeonly little wankers. BTW, I just happened to check out Unilocal as we were being seated and was seriously scared by the two-star rating. If I had looked at Unilocal 20 minutes earlier, we probably would’ve gone to one of the other Thai places in town. But I’m glad we didn’t. This just goes to show you how deceptive Unilocal can be sometimes. TripAdvisor has 4+ stars for this same place. Caveat Emptor, people. Unilocalers love to bitch and moan. On to my review… I thought their Tom Yum soup was very, very good. Four other people in my group got the Wonton soup, and they all slurped it up. Bangkok Chicken was good. I tried some of the Orange Chicken and I thought that was the best thing I ate there. Chicken dumplings were very good. One person in my group got the Pad Thai and loved it. Our waitress was very attentive and courteous. The food came out very quickly. Granted, we did go at 4:30 on a Wednesday, and there were only a few other people in the restaurant. I still appreciated the service. She did a great job. All in all, it was a very nice dining experience. We plan on going back the next time we’re in North Conway. Also the 10% off discount(N. Comway VIP Card) made it a good deal.

Me and my husband were visiting from boston and looking forward to trying this thai restaurant, but we r both very disappointed. Let alone that they included 20% tips with the bill, they managed to ruin the pad see aw and the Bangkok chicken, the thai ice tea was so sweet that we thought we were drinking syrup. The only thing that tastes ok was the bowl of white rice.

Yesterday, 28th May, we, a group of 10, had the misfortune of going there for dinner on someone’s recommenfation. When some of our vegetarian friends wanted to know whether certain dishes were vegetarian they were told by the waitress«can’t you read english». When they asked for the manager it turned out she was the manager herself and said I have to attend to other customers also so I can’t answer all your questions. Also, she said that it will take about an hour to get your dishes to the table after you have decided what you want. At that point she grabbed the menus from our hands and walked away saying if you want to eat vegetarian go to an Indian or Chinese restaurant. So we left. Needless to say we all felt very insulted and humiliated. So much for a friendly staff of the restaurant. The one star rating is because there is no negative rating is available

I love the food and the service has always been good. We have been going to A Taste of Thai since before they changed locations. It’s one of my favorite places to go when we go to North Conway. Chicken Pad Thai is awesome. I appreciate the fact that they offer gluten free options since that is an issue for me.

We(my spouse and kid) Visiting North Conway, were inspired to visit the restaurant after seeing so many stars in Unilocal.Usually Unilocal star restaurants are worth to visit, but this one is extremely exceptional– bad customer service, misbehave to the guest(at least with us). May be too much stars made them think they are above all attitude«People have to come to us for food». We have ordered Thai tom yum soup, dumpling and fried rice — mean to order curry fried rice. We got first surprise when the order taker showed up(who later said himself THE manager of the restaurant). He seems rude with fake smiley face, not humble or polite, he is over confident with attitude and behaving rude with us from first sight. When we got the food(served by the other team member) we noticed the rice is not curried so we requested him if he possibly can altered the dish as curried rice, the humble guy agreed to do that with no question asked and rushed to the kitchen. While we were waiting for our desired curried fried rice, THE manager appeared again and kind of questioning why we will not take the fried rice served on first place, He repeatedly mentioned we ordered fried one and he has proof of CC tv footage to show– which kinda make us insulted. We were shocked on his attitude and asking him to be humble with the customer, not pushing and arguing, in reply he remind us he is in business for 15 years– he knows what he is doing AND finally said(Big Surprise) «I don’t want you to see in my restaurant again»…So we have left the place right away paying the bill for the food with gratitude added on it(he forced us). Never face such situation in any restaurant in my life. Don’t know whom to complain this if the Manager behavior is like that in a restaurant, if owner has any control on that or any regulatory body in New Hampshire to look after the complain. I never experience such in any state I have traveled so many years. customer service is really the worst and I mention the manager’s behavior is beyond expectation.

If you want the worst Thai food dine at Taste of Thai! The crab rangoon were barely stuff with filling and served cold. The chicken drunken noodle meal had no flavor and was ordered with a medium heat, it had no heat at all. The spicy chicken curry meal had zero curry and no flavor and if a meal mentions chicken, it should have more than three pieces. The plates that the meals were served on were freezing cold leaving the meal not even warm. Also, don’t expect them to ask you how your meal is, they don’t care, no one came to our table until the end of our dining experience. What made the visit even more eventful was the food delivery truck that arrived to deliver boxes of food to the restaurant which they do right through the front door, walking by dining customers with dollies. I guess it wouldn’t be so bad during the warm months but we dined here on the coldest day in North Conway, a record breaking –17 with the wind chill. When the waiter finally returned to our table we questioned the meals and he had an arrogant response for every question we asked. Needless to say, we will not be returning there and would highly recommend anyone considering Taste of Thai, 1857 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, New Hampshire to go elsewhere, even one star is too good of a rating!

I really like this place. I’m a local and have followed this restaurant to three different locations. I think it’s the best Thai food in the Valley, and I’ve always had pleasant experiences with the food and service. Awesome Pad See Ew!

Very disappointing! 1. Service was terrible 2. They managed to ruin a Pad Thai(!!) 3. We had to wait more than an hour for the food 4. When the food finally arrived, we got the wrong dish for my girls. and so, they had to wait 25(!!) additional minutes for the right dish And worse of all — they did not apologize or compensate us for any of their mistakes. It was not all bad, the Red Curry dish was really good. But it was hardly enough to compensate for the terrible service, the long wait, the attitude, and other disappointing dishes served Bottom line — I strongly recommend to stay away from this restaurant.
