I’m always up to try somewhere new in Conshy so I met a friend here for drinks on a Tuesday and then came back with my fiancée that following Friday for dinner! The restaurant itself is really cool– exposed brick and rafters and very spacious. The bar area is nice but it’s also great how they have a separate dining area. When I met my friend for drinks, we both had a salad– I wasn’t too impressed by the goat cheese salad but she enjoyed the buffalo chicken salad. When I came back with my fiancée, we started with the«dirty balls” — fried dough with parmesan stuffed with cheese– so good! And then he had the mussels special which they made spicy for him at his request and I had fish & chips. We had Moscow mules to drink and we both really enjoyed our meals! It’s always good to find a new good spot– we’ll definitely be back!

My girlfriend and I decided to meet some friends here for drinks this past week. When she mentioned the name to me I was a bit surprised. To me The Lucky Dog had always been this kind of divey looking place off of Germantown Pike. Apparently they had taken over the location in Conshe that had previously been Spampz. I thought the ambiance of this place was fine. The lighting was warm, everything looked relatively new, the ornate ceiling tiles gave the place a nice look. I didn’t really love the stained glass windows with the dogs. It struck me as being kind of tacky and it made the place look a little dated. Food and Drink I ordered a dogarita, it was very sweet and tasted overwhelmingly like pineapple. I tasted very little if any tequila. I like to taste the tequila in a margarita, so I don’t know if they went light on the liquor or too heavy with the sugary components. I also got a jack n coke. Drink was crazy weak, I could barely taste the whiskey. This lead me to believe that maybe all the cocktails were going to be weak. Next I got a Guinness. The guinness was properly poured and I was quite pleased with it. So we ordered food. I got the hot wings and my girlfriend got the eggplant flatbread. I will start by saying that I personally do not like breaded hot wings. The only other place that I can think of that serves them like this is Hooters. Either way they weren’t really for me. They had also not been tossed in the hot sauce, the wings sat on top of the hot sauce and I guess you were suppose to roll them in it or something. They were fine, just not really my taste. I had a piece or two of the eggplant flat bread and this pizza was bland as hell. Very little seasoning of any kind, just straight up freezer pizza looking crust, red sauce, grated mozzarella, and slices of eggplant plopped on top. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was a cheap freezer pizza they just thrown in the oven. I just thought it was kind of lazy and I really didn’t care for it. Overall the experience was fine for a bar I guess. I probably wouldn’t choose to eat here again if I had the choice. If you do go there I would stay with beer or shots.

I just started a new job in Conshohocken this week, and my new colleagues brought me here for lunch on my first day. They chose it because it is a quick walk from our building and seems to be a local favorite. It has a pretty casual atmosphere which works for an informal business lunch. «Saloon» is in the name and there is a pretty spacious bar, so I would imagine it’s a lively spot in the evening as well. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and was happy with it. The chicken in the wrap is almost like popcorn chicken – smaller breaded pieces as opposed to grilled chicken strips. Clearly this isn’t the healthiest wrap you could choose, but then again when you’re ordering buffalo chicken anything, health isn’t the prime concern! It probably could have been a little spicier(I almost always say this, though) but was overall good. Service was pretty quick as well, another plus for a workday lunch spot. I’m sure I will be back since I’ll be spending a lot of time just down the street!

Went there for drinks and appetizers on a Friday. The mac n cheese app was amazing and they had a nice selection of trendy craft beer available. The waitress was knowledgable about the different types of beer and was able to make a few recommendations which were very tasty. We sat at a table near the bar and the waitress was very attentive and quick with the refills. I haven’t tried a full meal there yet, but plan on going back for that. Overall great atmosphere and very clean.

Been here twice since they moved to conshy from lafayette hill. The building they’re in used to be Spamps. They didn’t really do anything different to the inside. I’ve never had any of their food here yet but the beer selection is pretty good. A nice spot to hang with friends and have some drinks.

The overall décor and bar area were done beautifully. The exposed brick and wood floors make the initial atmosphere of the restaurant great! The food was just average bar food, wouldn’t recommend if looking for a nice night out with quality food. There are plenty of other quality restaurants in the area with top notch food. For a nice bar and bar food this is your place. Would recommend having dinner elsewhere like blackfish or bar lucca and grabbing a drink here afterwards

I used to love going to LDs old location-the food was always great. I’ve visited the new location a few times now and I’m not sure I’ll be going back. The place gets way too crowded-I used to love the more intimate atmosphere in Lafayette hill. And it’s so noisy! I really hate shouting my dinner order. If they were still serving the same quality food, I could deal with that, but my meal last night was sooo bland! I ordered the soup of the day and it tasted like something I could buy in a can. The truffle burger had NO seasoning and the aioli that comes in it had no flavor. I would have told my waitress, but she was nowhere to be found during our entire meal, so I gave up. When she finally arrived, her response to my feedback was «Oh, sorry». And btw, I’d much rather drink my $ 7 beer in a cold pint glass than a plastic cup. The highlight of the meal was the«dirty balls»… Sorry Lucky Dog, you used to be one of my favorites. The new location seems to have affected your quality. I guess in the end, you are«Lucky» because of your prime location and the abundance of beer drinking sports fans in the area. I’m sure you’ll be just fine.

Went here on a Friday evening to grab some appetizers, a few drinks and watch the NCAA basketball games. Was able to get seats at the bar. They have a ton of TVs and a great set up but did not know how to manage the TVs, especially when people are specifically there for for the basketball games. Good beer selection, although they didn’t serve my beers in a cold pint glass once. Ordered the eggplant flatbread, not awful but not that good. I didn’t get to finish it unfortunately because the bartender sprayed cleaner on my food and got into my beer. As a former server you would think that the bartenders would know to not spray any type of cleaner when people are sitting in that area! I didn’t even want to order more food and beer after that happened. Overall it was not the best time probably won’t be back any time soon!

My go to spot for business lunches, date night dinners and casually hanging out. I started going to the lucky dog when they were in Lafayette Hill and I could walk from my house to their pub. Sad day for us when they moved as they did deliver in Lafayette hill which every Friday night was lucky dog night. The bucket of balls is outstanding. Great burgers, onion rings and Mac n cheese. My wife LOvEs the Lucky dog salad I HIGHLY recommend the dog :-)

We decided to step out for an impromptu date night, and I’m so glad we did. Awesome food, great atmosphere, kind service. The burgers were killer, and the Moscow mule was a great finish They even put my hub’s burger on a bed of lettuce as he is not eating grains. I got burger grease and cheese all over my LBD. Am I sorry? Not one bit. Am I stuffed and satisfied? Absolutely. Thanks Lucky Dog — you gained a couple of regulars.

Pretty cool local restaurant/bar. There are framed portraits of dressed up royal looking dogs and cats and which is neat. It has a great family vibe in one area, as well as bar in the middle for the non-families. I loved my salmon arugula salad, tons of flavor, sweet and savory. We also tried the eggplant flat bread which was OK, i wish it was a bit more crispy on the bottom. Overall, great place to stop by for quick meal. The menu is on the fancier side with most items $ 10+, and the seafood entrees are around $ 20.

If I had the option, I’d give this place a solid 3.5 stars. That happens to be the current star average, so I’ll just ok ahead and say I agree with Unilocal’s cumulative assessment. This place opened awhile ago, but I hadn’t made it here till this weekend — there’s so many great options on Fayette Street, but on Saturday we were craving some bar food. This place is big — so big, that we couldn’t quite figure out which door was the front, but luckily all led in towards to hostess’ stand. I really love the décor in this place — there’s lots of exposed brick, some twinkle lights, and quirky paintings of dogs in royal getups. It’s also huge, with a great big bar area, though we were seated in the main dining room, which has a grand piano and a fireplace. What seems to be a fan favorite on the menu is the«Bucket of Balls» served«dirty.» It’s basically pizza dough filled with cheese, cooked up and rolled in parmesan and seasoning. They were excellent, and you get a decent amount for $ 10. We also ordered the bang bang shrimp, which were good, though not quite worth the price. We also had parm-truffle cheese fries, which were very crispy but didn’t necessarily taste much like truffle. I was pleasantly surprised by the draft selection — lots of different IPAs, although quite a few had just kicked and were no longer available. The service wasn’t fabulous — our waitress seemed annoyed at something, and only checked in once or twice. The rest of the experience was solid, though, so I’d probably come back and just sit at the bar.

We’ve been here quite a few times since moving to the area. The food is VERY good but the menu could use a re-vamp every now and then. As far as the drinks go… the beer selection is great! There are always new drafts rotating in and out. The food is just as good, although the prices are a bit aggressive for local bar food. Sometimes they have specials that make it worth it but often times I find myself paying more than I would like for a beer and an appetizer. The last thing I would like to discuss about this place it the service. The waitstaff and the bartenders are always friendly and welcoming and know their craft well.

It was a snowy day when I walked in the door wet and cold. I was greeted by the most friendly staff I have run into for a while. I sat down at the bar that is warm and inviting and was able to watch three or four TV’s from almost any angle. I ordered one of the twenty one beers they have on tap. At the same time, I ordered on of their amazing home made flat breads(not pre made crust from some unknown source). After a couple of beers I ordered the«Bucket of Balls»(I know, what a name). Get them dirty. Amazing. I left very satisfied and warm inside again with too much starch in my belly

I had a great time at Lucky Dog, and will definitely come back whenever I’m getting my drink on in conshohocken. The bar itself is very pretty, all shiny and wooden. It’s spacious as well. There is a huge bar and ample table space, which makes Lucky Dog a perfect place to gather and party. The craft beer selection is fabulous! There were about 20 craft beers on tap, of all different varieties. They have a food menu that looks pretty interesting as well. My friend and I opted for the«bucket of balls,» which was totally worth the awkwardness of ordering said balls. They are basically little compact pizza bites, and certainly make for good bar food. Highly recommended! What I think I liked best about Lucky Dog was that it isn’t as douchey and college-y as other bars in conshy. I’m getting too old for that scene, so Lucky Dog works for me!

This was my go to place for a burger when they were in Lafayette Hill and I was disappointed with my first experience last night at the new location. It’s much larger and all of the TVs and environment are great. The place was definitely packed. I’m not sure if because the food service likely increased five fold with the new location and they are still settling in with the larger crowds, but my burger was over cooked, toppings were barely there and the side salad wilted. Food was really good in the past so I’ll try again but right now I’m on the fence and not sure it’s worth the longer drive to get there.

I had the meatballs and rigatoni last night(a Friday) and it was delicious. There was also a strong beer menu(especially for the holiday season) which was also wonderful. I would definitely give that dish five stars, but the atmosphere was a bit iffy. It was very crowded at the bar, so the classy restaurant vibe was somewhat diminished by the noise up front. I’ll definitely try this place on another night to see if there’s a different vibe.

As I write this review I am torn between three stars or four. The Good –Burger –Atmosphere The Bad — The transition menu — A bit overpriced — Appetizers Let’s start off with the bad. We arrived at 3pm with a party of five, the place was really dead for a beautiful Saturday. We were originally handed dinner menus and we asked for lunch menus, about 10 minutes later, the server apologized and handed us another menu. It turns out they have a transitional menu from 3 – 5, which was a bit of a bummer. Two people in our party wanted something off of the lunch menu. We ordered 2 appetizers to share, the bucket of balls and the shrimp egg rolls. The balls were very good but there were only 6 in an order for $ 9.99, seems a bit pricey. Same for the shrimp rolls, two came in an order but they were very very thin. Turns out they were spring rolls, not egg rolls as described by server. French onion soup was ok but again not worth the $ 7.99. Three out of our party ordered burgers, including me. I have to say the burger was spot on! My burger was cooked perfectly, one was not cooked as ordered. The buns were great, sad to see they weren’t toasted. For the most part this was a good place. I think it could use some improvement, but the main bummer is the price. I’ll pay $ 13.00 for a burger if it’s good, which it was! But all the items seem a bit overpriced. If I’m in Conshy I may go back, but I will no

We went here Saturday afternoon as a party of 5. The salad and meatball sandwich were«okay» and the sauce made the sandwich. The mozzarella sticks were the best we’ve ever had, the mac and cheese was really good, and the french onion soup was«okay.» Typical bar food and bar environment. Simultaneously agreed as great marinara sauce. Great service. Pretty good craft beer selection as well. Pricey but overall pretty good.

Since my company moved to Conshy, this has been kind of the go to for happy hour. We can walk to it, and it has a professional crowd. They do a $ 2 off craft beer HH that’s popular with the crew. I used to go here when it was Spamps, and I gotta say it’s a big improvement. Everything feels more open. It’s less of a college vibe. I’ve only had standard bar apps, but the menu looks good and reasonably priced. I hear that they got a well regarded chef, and there always seems to be some kind of group event there. Everything has been well kept when I’ve gone. The bartenders are fine; not particularly talkative but attentive and can handle a crowd. Keep it in mind when you don’t want to be packed in a corner bar.

This place is awesome food is great service is a static. I will be definitely going to hear a lot more now that I’m living in Conshohocken. I went to the One in Plymouth Whitemarsh years ago remember they used to serve roast beef right at the bar underneath They’ve came along way. I’ll definitely be going there a lot especially for all the TVs at they have for sports.

Felt obligated to review this restaurant since we had such a positive experience. The service was excellent. The food is very comparable in price and taste to the other Conshy restaurants. Boom Boom Shrimp app was really good. Along with the special, which was muscles in red sauce. My wife and I both had chicken sandwiches which were very good. The Moscow Mule drink is really tasty! A very good addition to Conshocken restaurants. We will definitely be back!

We hosted a baby shower for my sister in the beautifully renovated upstairs room and wow. From start to finish the shower was perfect! Colleen and Matt really went above and beyond to make this day special for my sister and our family and friends. I used to frequent the Lafayette Hill location. Right off the bat, ample parking at this spot is a plus. The menu is the same, but everything always tastes better dining outdoors, especially on a gorgeous summer evening. As a total aside– a group of older ladies were walking up the stairs, looking around at the neighborhood and remarked that it was like San Francisco. Conshohocken– the other San Fran. Sure that’s never been uttered before. Anyway, we ate light(wings and a flatbread)…both were really tasty. Our drinks… meh. Hubs beers were $ 7 each… a little steep. My margarita was too strong and I needed to water it down. Our server was lovely and very genuine.

Wife and I met friends here for some lunch recently. I had no expectations but was hungry Very expensive right off the bat. Food prices don’t compare favorably with neighboring restaurants There was a pretty big Early dinner crowd there tho Had a drink at the bar(good beer selection) before being seated in the huge dining area(this place has a ton o space) I ordered the cheesesteak pierogie(very good) even though you only get three :(. But still very tasty My buddy had the buffalo wings. They were ok and my wife and her friend had buffalo chicken salad. They were ehh My main course was the chicken Marsala. No good at all. Dry and tasteless with soft noodles. I was heartbroken. Our waitress was very good, friendly and knowledgable and served us well. She also mentioned the menu may be changing so that could be some sort of silver lining. I guess I won’t be back anytime soon

Like others have said, the atmosphere is pretty nice. It’s actually not much like a saloon. It has a bar, but it’s fancier than a saloon(as I would image one). The service was good. I got just the right amount of attention, and the food came out quick. The waiter wasn’t necessarily happy, but he was cordial and pleasant enough. My meal came out quick, too. My hamburger tasted very good. I especially liked the toppings. Instead of fries, I got the«side salad.» It’s more like a side of lettuce with good dressing, though. It was tasty, but it wasn’t much more than I described. I also found the $ 20 minimum for a credit card weird and, frankly, a bit lame. I can understand small stores requiring a $ 5 or $ 8 minimum. A bar, though? $ 20?

I’m lucky enough to live so close and visit this place often. We’ve been there to drink, eat dinner and the new brunch. The service and food has been nothing but superb! For dinner, I highly recommend trying their bucket o balls as a starter. We also shared a Sansom burger– one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Great list of beer– we thought it was a bit pricey and are looking for more specials/HH to keep up with the other restaurants in town. On to brunch. Went 2 weeks ago and there was no wait. Come hungry and eat the breakfast burrito! I also tried the homemade crêpe. Wow! Overall, a great addition to Conshy with better food than your average bar options.
