What a great little place! Came here with a girlfriend for dinner recently; they were PACKED at 7 on a Thursday, which I guess is to be expected. I wouldn’t have thought to make a reservation, but luckily my friend frequents this Italian bistro enough to know it’s a necessity. They have a fun cocktail list(we enjoyed a Mohito and a Cosmo) and great happy hour specials for wine($ 10 off a bottle! That’s unheard of in the city.). Great gourmet salad selections and an eccentric pizza selection. The Italian Stallion — pepperoni and long hots — was a great selection to split after we both enjoyed salads(one ceasar and one pavoratti with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto and asparagus). NOTE: The Italian Stallion is not for those who can’t take the heat. This thing is SPICY and that’s coming from a self-proclaimed high-tolerance spice-girl. Two things I didn’t love: 1. the check took forever to come, as did ordering. although I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt in saying that it was a busy night 2. the mozzarella in my salad was very runny; probably could have used a little less water on my plate Regardless, I’d recommend this place to anyone out for the night in Conshy. Great energy in here!

Excellent Italian food. It is created in true Italian fashion. I would recommend the food. The wine selection was good, but the beer selection(my hubby’s fav) was so-so. However, this is a great restaurant for a birthday, anniversary, etc. Great service too and the peppers were outstanding.

We have never had a bad meal here… granted, I never stray from the gnocchi, because they are simple and perfect. But my husband’s entrée last night bumps it to 5 stars… it was a special and it was sublime. Boneless pork loin in an orange au jus, with carmelized onions and raisins. I usually don’t care for pork, but this was fantastic. Kudos to the chef on this one… one of the best meals the hubs has had!

Not bad but I don’t think foods were impressive. Very friendly and nice service though. I’m not sure if this is a right expression but it was tasted like foods that offered at a chain restaurant.

10:30pm Saturday night on December 19th. The rudest server we’ve ever experienced in our lives at this place. Pepperoncini will be burned in our memory for that! My GF and I love to try new places and being new to the area we walked here from our apartment to give it a try due to all the great reviews on Unilocal. The server asked us what we wanted to drink. I asked my GF if she wanted a beer, and she told me she couldn’t because she was on antibiotics. Before I could even ask for some water to start, this blonde female server gave us an agitated look on her face as if we annoyed her, turned around and walked away without saying a word. My GF and I looked at each other and couldn’t help but laugh it off because it was just so outrageously rude. I own several businesses including a couple of restaurants and was just completed shocked at such rudeness within 3 seconds of server touching our table. We were planning to order pizza but we got up and left. We walked down a couple of blocks and found Isabella Mediterranean restaurant to eat instead. There we had outstanding service and the food was very delicious. We felt welcomed at Isabella. Not so at Pepperoncini. But we have to say thank you to the rude server, because of her we found a great spot at Isabella! Thank you! :P

This is the best spot in Conshy. Great menu and staff. You can have a nice, sit down dinner or grab a pizza and drinks at the bar. Can’t go wrong with the stuffed long hots for an appetizer. They have a special menu on Sunday’s which offers great entrees at a very reasonable price.

We’ve been living in the hood for almost 2 years and have heard a lot of hype over Pepperoncini. We made reservations for a Saturday night and were seated as soon as we arrived. Make a reservation. It was very very busy with a pretty eclectic group of people, all ages and walks of life, in the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is cute. Nice date location. Our waitress was awesome. I think her name was Shauna. A+ service. They had a decent array of wines and beers. We started out with the stuffed long hots which were 1. delicious and 2. fiery hot. Like make you sweat hot and we eat a lot of hot stuff without thinking twice. I ordered the arugula salad + chicken which was pretty good although there was no sign of the pistachios. My +1 ordered the lasagna which was really delicious and he very much enjoyed. So why not 5 stars? Super expensive for what it was. Would I come back? Absolutely as it’s one of the better dining options in Conshy.

After being promptly seated at Pepperoncini, my boyfriend and I glanced over the menu trying to decide what to order. As our appetizer, we decided to get the calamari. For our entrees we ordered the Manicotti Florentine and Carciofi pizza. The calamari was overcooked. It was very chewy and tough; It was like chewing squid flavored gum. We sent it back. The replacement appetizer was the Shrimp Pepperoncini which were pretty good. I wish there would have been more than four shrimp. :) We went halvies on the entrees. I have to say, the pizza was great. Prosciutto is the new pepperoni. The manicotti was okay. The pasta was a little too doughy and kind of melted into the spinach/ricotta filling and it became a little mess. I’m from the South, so it reminded me of grits. haha. It still tasted good! I just wish it would have held it’s structure. I definitely will come here again and update on my next visit.

I had a salad and meatballs for dinner and only because I am trying to stay away from the carbs. I have had the lasagna several times and to be honest it is probably the best I have ever had. The service is outstanding and the drinks are really strong! I am a fan and I can walk to this yummy place. Keep up the great work.

The wraps are good a little over priced for what you get but decent enough. They’re consistent with their food which is a hard thing to find in any restaurant so you’ll always know what your getting instead of who your getting. All and all not somewhere I’d eat all the time but definitely worth checking out if your in the mood for somewhere different.

Stopped in on Saturday night for some takeout. This was the second time I was in the area and visited this restaurant for takeout. Got 2 appetizers. One was a very good house salad. And one was a very fine fancy eggplant parmesan. The eggplant was extraordinary. I think it had 6 kind of cheese cheeses. I can’t really speak to the dining service as we got to take out but the service we got for takeout was very good. I would definitely go back to either dine in or take out if that’s what I needed. My coworker ordered A sauteed veggie dish as she is a vegetarian and her dish looked awesome. She also got a salad on the side. I feel comfortable recommending this restaurant. Sorry no pictures but I licked myplates clean.

Finding good local restaurants while on the road is sometimes difficult, but Pepperoncini will stay on my short list(or maybe be my entire list) for stays in this neighborhood. Good wine selection, and excellent food. I had one of their signature dishes, Veal Sinatra, prepared with Tomatoes, Artichoke and Crab, and served over linguini. Generous portions and great service made the experience of this small corner bar and restaurant a true pleasure. I will be back…

Pepperoncini is the Italian name for hot chili peppers so that forced me to order the Italian Long Hots stuffed with sweet sausage($ 11.50). OMG am I glad I did. Although not exactly the same, these pop-your-eyes spicy morsels of deliciousness were exactly what I needed for a quick appetizer. The melted sharp provolone really enhanced the dish. I was in Conshy early for a diner engagement and popped in here to get a start on the evening with these wonderful peppers and a class or two or three of the house Chianti. I couldn’t have made a better choice. I sat at the bar and experienced Mike who turned out to be both an excellent bartender and conversationalist. As we swapped stories I observed the traditional dark would bar and very classic dining area. The lovely wife and I are huge fans of the Havertown Pepperoncini and I expect the food here would be both similar and excellent. The long hots were a perfect example . My fellow Unilocalers rate this place four stars and I couldn’t agree more.

The great: great service and a very very friendly staff, extremely delicious pizza. The good: on Thursdays they have $ 10 off on a bottle of wine. The atmosphere is also very good and they seem to have a very loyal customer base. Also have gotten the stuffed hot long peppers and they are pretty good. The bad: nothing really bad about this place to be honest, although it’s kind of a small joint so you’ll need to make reservation, also I wish they had better daily drink/food specials, the other bars in the area seem to do a little better in that area. Overall: it’s a very good local spot and it’s worth trying, especially their pizza.

I have eaten here twice: The first time the food was amazing. We got the mussels as an appetizer and I had the gnocchi — both fantastic! Our waiter was very attentive and fabulous!(Short friendly gentlemen) The second time the food was good but our waitress was terrible!(Long light brown hair) She came over and took our drink order so we also ordered an appetizer to start since it was busy. She was supposed to come back and take out orders and maybe even read us the specials but she never did. Our waiter from our first visit brought out the drinks and a runner brought out our appetizer. When we were almost finished with our appetizer I had to flag a staff member to take our order. Throughout dinner whenever we needed something we had to ask a different staff member bc our waitress never came by. Finally at the end a staff member charged our card for a table of 6’s bill instead of ours. I used to work in restaurant so I can tell you that our waitress didn’t have too many tables she was just a bad waitress. Management should get some more qualified staff members.

I don’t know why, but I’ve still only been to Pepperoncini’s twice despite living less than 5 minutes away. Please note, this is not because I do not like this place! I do, I really do! Perhaps it’s because it’s a step above your neighborhood bar. and most of the time, this jeans and flip flops gal is really just in the mood for a neighborhood bar. I’ve been here once for a bar experience and once for dinner. I went to the bar on a really busy night. It was fun, and the bartender was nice which was a huge feat considering how busy he was. But really, this type of bar/restaurant is best to experience with one other dining partner, a glass or five of wine, and a noise level somewhere in between intimate and busy. But it was a good time. The only thing I might recommend is perhaps a few recommended cocktails. It’s more of a wine and beer bar. But since you have a full bar, maybe have some written down suggestions for someone as indecisive as myself? Next up was my dinner date here. I purposefully made reservations on a Thursday, for their infamous $ 5 glass of wine special. Nowhere on their menu or their website does it specify that the special is at the bar only. This is a totally valid fine print rule, but it should absolutely be made clear somewhere so I don’t plan my date night around it. So, don’t make the same mistake I did! And judging from the huge crowd around the bar, if you do want to partake in this special, you should probably get there at 4:59 to get a seat. Luckily, our dinner was really delicious! We each picked one of the homemade pasta dishes. I picked a zesty crab pasta dish. The pasta was tender, the crab was plentiful, and the sauce was tasty. However, it reminded me a LOT of maryland crab soup; so only order this dish if you like those flavors! My special guy ordered a pasta with braised pork which was SO yummy and just dripping with unctuousness. Very rich but worth it. We also ordered the calamari to start, like many other Unilocalers. This was definitely a must try. Each dipping sauce was really complementary, both the marinara and the pesto cream. And the calamari itself was really tender and plentiful. Food is definitely the highlight of this place, and I’m looking forward to trying other items on the menu. The only downside to dinner was the very slow service. Our server was nice enough, but took absolutely forever to do everything. For the two of us, it wasn’t a huge detriment as we’re generally pretty easy going. But just know that you might not be able to have a quick dinner here. In general, I would definitely recommend this place. The casual yet intimate atmosphere makes it great to catch up with friends, for nice dinner dates, and for happy hour. And given the quality of food, the prices are very reasonable as well. Just make sure to get a reservation for dinner, and to get there early for bar seats!

Loved this place and this is coming from a girl who doesn’t prefer Italian food. We arrived early for our 8:30 reservation. We sat at the bar and order a couple drinks. Friendly bartenders, OK drink prices. I appreciated that they had a house pinot grigio. We were seated promptly at 830. I ordered the Chianti, again great house wine and price was nice. We ordered the mussels in white sauce. The mussels were huge and tasty. My husband and I typically like to share, so we orders the clam pizza with red sauce, and lobster ravioli. Both were delicious. Now, I would be a little disappointed if I was someone with a big appetite ordering the ravioli. It was a bit small, but it was plenty for us. The service was spectacular. The prices overall were very reasonable for the quality. I can’t wait to go back. PS. This place is small and definitely recommended for smaller parties.
