Really nice service but food is absolutely terrible. The sushi rice was very mushy. It’s too bad because the servers and manager were polite.

WOW!!! BAD SERVICE. Food OK, nothing to write anyone about. Service was so bad that maybe the food would have been better but when you watch your waiter (Jace) screwing off and not bringing your food or even checking on you. Just had water to drink and he could not refill that. This our second and last try for this poorly run place. Sorry for all.

I love the service at Shoguns. Our chef was the best! Every time we eat there, we leave feeling very satisfied.

I am confused about the poor reviews. My wife has been here a few times for lunch with her coworkers, and gave a good review. We decided to go here the other night for dinner. We had fried mushrooms, soup, salad, and split the calamari bento box. It was fantastic! Hot and delicious. We also had the espresso cake (ice cream cake) for dessert which was killer. Our server was William and he was super nice and attentive. Give them a shot! You won’t be dissapointed.

I’m a bit confused by all these 1 star reviews. I’ve never had any of the issues mentioned in the other reviews. I’ve never been disappointed with the service or anything I’ve ordered. In fact, I always thought the service was spectacular. There’s never any other customers when I’m there so the waiter’s sole focus is on my table. I always receive refills before I even need them and get frequent check-​ins during the meal.
I always get the chicken katsu bento box and it’s a generous amount of food compared to the bentos at other places. I usually take some leftovers home. My girlfriend always gets sashimi and she has never said anything negative about her orders either.
Maybe it depends on what waiter you get. I always have an older Asian man and he’s very attentive. The only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is because I’ve never gotten sushi from here, so I don’t believe I have the authority to say its perfect without trying the sushi.

Had a new waitress who was so unsure of everything. Didn’t get the soup or salad with the meal until we had to ask for it. Husband’s sushi came within minutes of ordering. Yet we had to wait over 30 minutes for mine and my daughters meal. The management was so nonchalant when we complained, didn’t even care that it took so long and didn’t try to rectify anything. The food itself was good, but not for the price.

My girlfriend and I came to this establishment for dinner on a day that lacked every definition of busy and we ended up requesting our checks for our ordered wine and left.
We ordered 3 sushi plates and we waited 30 minutes till actually becoming irritated. Not only did our waiter not care to refill our water or check up on us, we had to waive down a different waiter to order the wine (which was not fresh, at all).
Last straw was when another couple came in and got food before we did AND (apparently) one of the waiters friends came in and was served immediately.
At this point it was bout 45 minutes. Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever experienced.

Waited 15 minutes for the server to come get our drink order. She did not know what types of drinks they had or if they even had sweetener for their tea. She was rude and a smart aleck towards us. We got up to leave and we complained to the manager. He said and did nothing, and our waitress stood right next to him and waived at us and said «Have a great night!»
Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

We have been coming to this shogun since the day the opened 9 years ago. My son would only eat there when we went out and he was going through a picky stage :)
The same waiter/​manager always remembers us and is nice enough to ask how we have been.
They are very friendly and we stop by every time we can. My son takes me there for mother’s day, too :)
All the kids love the fun and their fire tricks and they talk about it for days afterwards.

Worst sushi I’ve had. It’s very disappointing when you’re trying to get a significant other to try new food and it’s a terrible representation of the cuisine. The sushi from your local grocery store will taste much better.
The chefs at the grills were entertaining, there’s their one star.
Service is not expedient and there appeared to be communication problems with the waitress, will need patience. Over two and a half hours for a table of 9 to get their food.

I ordered no mushrooms. Chicken came out full of mushrooms. I was told that I ordered no mushrooms on my vegetables not my chicken. I have eaten here for at least 5 years. I have never had mushrooms in my chicken before. Waitress should have snapped. No mushrooms in vegetables might mean no mushrooms in chicken also. She told me she didn’t cook. Never had to say that before. Would not eat here again. They charged me full price for my meal. I’m on my way to chik fila…

I would never come back here. This place shouldn’t even be called Japanese Grill & Sushi!
I went in here around 7 PM during dinner rush and was seated promptly, which was a good thing. However, it took our waitress about 15 minutes to greet us and get our drink order. I understood that they were busy so I let it go.
I order the miso seabass and had a few rolls (I was very hungry). The miso seabass was overcooked. Under the fish, it was burnt. I was not able to finish it. I tried eating it but it was just so dry, burnt, and lack any flavor. The sushi was not good. It did not taste fresh and the rice tasted funny. For the food… the price was a bit expensive. I did not want to pay that much for a burnt fish.
If you are a sushi lover, this is not the place for you.

Very disappointing. Went there for lunch and ordered a Chicken Teriyaki bento box. The chicken was dry and tough, the soup had an old flavor and several crispy hard pieces of something unidentifiable. This was my first and last visit.

After reading the reviews of this place, the willingness to try was a bit shaky. I must say, the green lantern is no where to be found. We asked specifically for this mysterious green lantern racist waiter. Instead we were delivered Nichole. pretty knowledgeable, with a handful of I don’t knows, (she needs product knowledge training). The food was ok, about 3 stars worth. We tried the spicy calamari. I must say this was slightly suspect for authenticity, just seemed too consistent to be real. Great spicy sauce with it. Texas Roll, well, sushi is what it is. No complaints. The Scallop Bento Box, was a large amount of food, with typical Hibachi flavor, again, nothing that really stood out and for the price of the food, I would expect my left overs to be boxed for us. Instead the styrofoam box was tossed in the middle I the table, check placed and Nichole asked for the soy sauce for refill — her post shift duties. Then the next waiter needed the sugar. We meet the manager, very nice man, handled things quickly. Nice place and people, they just need to lower the price to meet their food. I will be looking for a coupon before my return.

The absolute best spicy calamari EVER! Like the calamari steak strips not the onion ring style and oh so tender. Have not tried the hibachi, no opinion for this, but the sushi is always fresh (very important to me) and I like the selections they have.

My family and I have been here a few times but will not be returning after our last experience. Our waiter who seemed to think he was the green lantern was inappropriate and racist. Our night started with him presenting the check from his last table which included a phone number and a empty package of birth control pills, which he seemed confused why we didn’t find this nearly as amusing as he did. Upon receiving our drinks my sister was treated to a mouthful of dead fruit flies from her glass of wine which caused her to be sick in the restroom. Our waiter half heatedly apologized after stating «man that’s gross». We made him bring a new bottle of wine and uncork it at the table to ensure it was fresh. The manager never came over to apologize for the bad experience or to see how it was handled. When we asked the waiter how this happened his only response was «you know these f$&@ing Chinese you never know» which wasn’t his only genius statement of the night. One of our party asked if he was our chef for the evening his reply to her «no, do my eyes look slanted?». To top it off we had a family guest with us who happens to be Asian. I wanted to find the manager at the time especially after we were charged for the bug infested wine however my mother did not want any trouble so we left. I can say for sure we will never be back.

The food and service was awesome, but it’s a little pricey.

Bad service. If you want great food great service and the best sushi This is not the place. We were treated rudely two years ago and we haven’t been back since. I ordered a spicy tuna hand roll. What I got was a horrible «cone» filled with CHUNKS of tuna. It was disgusting.

Shogun is my families first choice in Japanese Hibachi! The service, quality, cleanliness and atmosphere make an excellent choice. Shogun is an ideal choice for a family or group outing, and the Hibachi Chefs are entertaining.
