We were looking for a reliable breakfast place to get us rolling in the morning. No surprises, no nonsense, the kind of place that has worn their breakfast into a familiar groove. And we were mostly unsurprised with the breakfasts we ordered… except that their sausage patties had a weird aftertaste that didn’t suggest locally-made sausage as it suggested Tennessee Pride a day or so past its«use by» date. Luckily we had no ensuing gastric distress; we just decided that this place wasn’t going on our«gotta come back» list any time soon.

Good breakfast and hostess was very friendly, feel like home. It is a perfect stop along the Allegheny Passage bike trail.

Great Allegheny Passage Cyclist friendly. I’ve been here twice while riding the GAP and love it. If you are southbound(Pittsburgh behind you, Ohiopyle ahead) turn right onto Meason, just after going under the 4 lane highway bridge. Northbound, turn left before the bridge. Cross 7th Street and go into the small strip mall. Valley Dairy is located just past the Dollar General. You can lean your bikes against the wall and get a booth inside next to them. Great breakfast and lunch. Good service.

This is the Pvt. Joe Bauers of diners; completely average in every way. Coffee? Average. Portions? Average. Cost? Average. You get the point. For a small town diner it is completely adequate.

Pretty decent greasy spoon a stone’s throw from anywhere. Its not the best place for breakfast in the area(that would be the Hometown Diner), but its a no-nonsense sort of place that will keep your coffee cup full and the hash slingin’(slung?).

Super friendly service and standard Denny’s or Eat-n-Park style food. When they ask if you want gusto on your fries, go for the gusto. We biked here from Pittsburgh on our way to Confluence and needed to refuel. The portions were big big and we were plenty sated. The waitress pointed out her cute pink bike next to ours in the rack and wished us a good journey.
