A Western Pennsylvania tradition. Sheetz is a gas station that also specializes in Made To Order(MTO) food and beverages. Customers order by touch screen. The stations have extensive menu’s and options for maximum order customization. I usually get a pretzel melt and a gourmet coffee. Their custom coffee is pretty good. Not the best in the world but pretty good none the less. Their prices are also relatively cheap on most special orders but extra items due tend to add up. Sheetz also has the standard beverage coolers and selection of gas station snacks too. When I lived in Western PA I signed up for the sheetz card which gives you discounts on items in the store and 3 cents off your gas purchase. They would also send me special coupons in my e-mail letting me know about in store specials. My main complaint is the smell of the store. It usually always smells bad due to burning grease or bad food exhausting. But they are in the process of remodeling and making the store better as well as adding more fuel pumps. So hopefully most of the issues will be fixed.

We stopped here for an iced-tea /bio break about noon on a Sunday. 1) Not enough help. The store was totally jammed at the register. 2) Restrooms are one of the big signs out front. «RESTROOMS!!» 3) Once inside, the restrooms are co-ed… I guess… One side urinal and one side toilet. No separation, so why both? 4) Filthy, awfulness. And not only the kind that came from a busy morning. Walked across the crazy busy street to Wendy’s.

If you can, pick a different Sheetz. Or a different gas station if gas is what you need. I don’t know why, but this Sheetz usually has the most expensive gas in town, and their prices are the first to rise. The Sheetz at the 982 junction a few miles down on 119 is bigger, cleaner, has cheaper gas, is better stocked, nicer staff, more selection, and the MTO is faster and more accurate.(At this one, they ALWAYS forget the mayo on my breakfast sandwich.) I mean it’s still Sheetz, which is the coolest gas station chain ever, so it still gets 3 stars. But it’s a very sub-par Sheetz, and I really think it’s time for a remodel. It’s tiny. I hate ordering food there because it’s so cramped that there’s nowhere to stand to the side and wait for your food, and people keep asking if you’re in line. It’s smack dab in the center of town, gets tons of traffic everyday, and there’s only one, filthy dirty, unisex bathroom? Come on. If it gets a remodel someday then this review will be null and void, because that’s all this place needs to be awesome.
