This review will strictly be on customer service, and not the Body Shop products. So yesterday, I came in with my family to purchase my favorite face wash and we were not greeted at all. We walked pass the sales associate, and she didn’t say a word to us. We stood in front of the register for awhile, and that sales associate just kept looking back at us without doing anything. Another sales associate came out from their back room, and she did greet us but she just proceeded to the front. A couple minutes later, a woman comes in the store is warmly greeted by both associates. Finally after a few more minutes of waiting, the first sales associate comes to us to help check out and she still didn’t seem very kind to us. I know there are some retail stores that will not greet you just because you look like you are not going to buy something. I hope that was not the reason for the VERYPOOR customer service. I have also observed that the other customer who came in later on was white, just like both associates. As oppose to my family and I are Asian-American. I also hope that this bad visit was not a RACIST thing. Regardless the reasoning of the sales associates, I will not be returning to this store. After being a customer of the Body Shop for a few years now, I will start going to Lush for my skin care needs instead.

Worst shopping experience ever! My friend purchased the Mothers Day gift bag in addition to ten other items. I was very excited to receive the present as he carefully chose the selections but I did not like all the scents. I went to the store today to not REFUND but EXCHANGE the candles and oils for a scent that I prefer. He specifically left me the gift receipts so I could exchange anything I didn’t like. I was told that if I exchanged the three candles for three new scents I would have to pay an additional $ 20 because the promotion is over. It was the same situation on all the other gifts. My friend wasted his money because I am now stuck with candles and oils that I wont burn because the smells make me nauseous. The Sun Valley Mall store in Concord CA said corporate changed the policy 2 months ago and many customer are leaving angry. I wont be shopping at the body shop again and I’ll be donating the worthless candles to Goodwill! I have never had a store not allow me to exchange or refund something with a receipt. Just called and spoke to worthless customer service and they said there is nothing I can do but try to send an email. Horrible customer service! Good luck on retaining customers! I will go to every social meeting outlet possible and complain about your new policy. People need to be warned not to buy anything from the Body Shop!

Wow, great customer service Rachel! I ask you a question about facial creams and you point at the wall and tell me that there is a lot. Maybe take a second and show me a product that might work for what I’m looking to achieve, maybe give me some direction instead of being rude and not trying to help. I think it was very unprofessional of you to go to the back room and clearly laugh about my frustration with another employee. I work in customer service and I can tell you right now, Rachel and the body shop«sun valley mall» sucks! Management, you should look into it, I would have bought something but instead walked out very unhappy. Thanks for nothing

I went by The Body Shop to pick up a last minute gift. I was in and out within 5mins. I asked if they had any gift boxes to put my gift in and the cashier handed me a gift bag inside my purchase. My mistake for not watching her ring up the bag for $ 3 until I saw it on my receipt at home. Its not expensive, it just wouldn;t be my choice to purchase with a huge logo that says The body Shop on it. I thought they were free, cause I’ve never had paid for gift boxes in the past with purchase at any retail stores if they had them available. Urggh, just annoyed.

Well, not quite sure if my spider senses were tingling, I was drawn in by the smell of orange incense, what a wonderful smell!!! I lingered around the shop some, did I buy anything? No, why? Because I’m cheap!!! I always will be cheap, I’m sure they have some great products, I just wouldn’t know cause I haven’t tried any.

I absolutely love The Body Shop’s products, so when I was shopping in the mall the other day, I had to stop by to see what they had. We were greeted immediately after entering the store and were willing to help us pick out the perfect, CHEAP gift our coworkers(because let’s be honest, ain’t nobody trying to spend hella money on co-workers). The store itself is neat, well organized, and well stocked. I’m glad that they had the skin care products I needed, since I usually like to stock up on some of my favorite items. Overall, I’m so far pleased with this store location and appreciate the fact that it’s fairly close to home.

I love shopping at this place. This year, I’ve shopped at the body shop three times and I plan to go two more times this year. Never had a problem and I was given a good amount of time to shop around and carefully pick exactly what I wanted to buy without being rushed or bothered. The Body Shop products are pricey if you buy them at regular price, but I’ve shopped at this place with my Groupon deal and had absolutely no problem. That Groupon deal introduced me to the body shop and I keep coming back for more products when they are on sale. The location is easy to find, the employees are friendly and nice to me, great selection of all the body butters I like and travel size items I like to try out before buying full-size items, and good sales/deals every now and then.

As I was shopping for oils for my oil lamp yesterday evening around 6:30pm or so. I was sadden that I didn’t purchase any on that day a very nerved that the cashier didn’t acknowledge me at all. She asked all the four people that was near me if they needed assistance, even my friend who came in with me. I will never return to this store again… Hope your service will be better than what I Received.

You can tell what kind of relationship a man has with a woman by the gifts he buys her. 1. Diamonds — they are very committed, if not married 2. Jewelry — committed, but depends on the jewelry how much 3. Perfume — they’ve been together awhile and he knows what she likes 3. Lingerie — they are newly intimate or trying to revive it 4. Flowers — newly dating. or apologizing 5. Soap — they are just friends, like her girlfriends 6. Drinks — he is looking for a one night stand 7. Illicit Drugs — Why wait the night? Soap is usually something her girlfriends buy her anyway. But it makes a great gift for friends. Some say men can’t have friendships with women, it always leads to more, or nothing at all. But this is not true. I have a lot of female friends and relatives, and soap is a sure winner! You can find just about all of these gifts in your typical mall. The Body Shop was founded by Anita Roddick back in the 70’s, in the U.K., after she saw a similar store with the same name in Berkeley. She bought the rights and expanded onto the London Stock exchange into an empire of 2,400 stores in 60 countries. It was based on no-animal tested products and natural ingredients. But she sold out to Loreal Corporation before she passed away, and now it is part of that empire. This not to be confused with the Bath and Body Works, which you will probably find in the same mall. This was started in the 1990’s, and became part of the Limited group’s brands. It has 1,200 stores in North America, and is Limited’s biggest revenue brand behind only Victoria’s Secret, which coincidentally, originally started in San Francisco in the 70’s. So back in the 70’s there was beautiful lingerie from Victoria’s Secret(much more refined than the massed marketed stuff now) and great natural soaps from The Body Shop, both Bay Area small businesses. SInce The Body Shop went corporate mainstream with L’Oreal, it seems to have lost a lot of it’s natural roots, in my opinion. And so, the rise of Lush, which was founded in the UK in the 90’s, which sells soaps and cosmetics that are not animal tested. And women love the smells and concepts, although 1 bath bomb can cost you $ 5 — $ 8! I know someone with a $ 50/month habit! In some malls, you can find almost all of these places for gifts in one place. The Body Shop still has some great soaps, and they usually have special prices for combination purchase, like buy this and that, and get 50% off the other. Now that soap is out of the way, it’s time to move on to those other gift categories!

The Sales Staff will not let you shop in peace. They are constantly in your ear. Like the stores products, and will purchase them when able to think about what to buy with out sales staff constantly talking to me.

I’d have to say that this is not Bath & Body Works but it comes damn close. There is one image that will forever be burned in my brain and that is when they first opened this store. Being that they originated from England, it makes sense that on opening day they’d have a English gent welcome everyone into the store with exaggeration. By that I mean he said«Welllllcome to the Bodddddddy Shop!». Seriously, I was expecting there to be an orchestra behind that welcome! Now they have teenie boppers and twenty-somethings running the store who are not giving an exaggerated welcome. You may get a «Hi, welcome to the Body Shop» or just«Hi» which is fine with me actually. I’d have to say the biggest welcome you get is the competing scents wafting throughout the store. Overall they have some fairly nice products with unique scents. Hubby seems to gravitate to a certain body spray called Energize so for that we come back. We joined their loyal shopper club which scores us 10% off every product in the store plus we’re somehow tied to their ‘Stop Sex Trafficking” campaign. I mean it’s a good thing that they’re advocates to stop this egregious behavior but the tote we scored by signing their petition makes me uneasy. Don’t get me wrong but I don’t want people to misunderstand and think I am totally into the sex trafficking. Maybe I am just paranoid, but at least I’ll smell good while doing so.

This Body Shop isn’t too different from any other one you’ll see around. The employees are incredibly friendly! However, I took away 2 stars due to their… lack of knowledge of their products? One particular girl was helping me and she was very nice and I could tell she was trying to be helpful. But it got to the point where I started to randomly point at anything and she would say«oh yeah, I have that at home, it’s wonderful blah blah blah». She must own every single oil burner in the store! It all seems a bit far fetched to me. I appreciate her friendliness, but I only want her following me around the store if she’s going to add to my shopping experience.

This is the place I was thinking of while reviewing Bath and Body Works. This place is awesome. I love how their things have a very spa feeling to them and they have massage rollers and gift sets that far rival BBW. For your birthday you get a percentage off of a purchase. It’s not very much and you probably won’t use it, but it’s there. I’ve bought my friends and fam gifts here, and they all raved about them. I’ll probably be here for xmas, treating them to the spa one lotion at a time.
