Picked up a sax lyre — they had it ready to go! This will be my go to place for the odd little music related stuff.

Came in recently looking for a nice ukulele. Originally went to the guitar center and didn’t find many options so went down the street to find this place. Overall had a great experience here! There was a very large selection. Robin was extremely helpful in teaching me about each uke and thoroughly going through each one with the sounds and the looks to make sure I picked out the best one for me. Great deal and great service! Definitely will come back for any other musical needs!

Repaired saxophone quickly while I waited. I had rented a sax from them for my daughter, One of the keys wasn’t working and it was not clear why. dropped by to have it repaired and it immediately went into the back. They had it fixed in about 20 minutes and since they could find no evidence of mishandling it was done free of charge! Since I had to drive 45 minutes to get there I was especially happy that they got it fixed right on the spot rather than making me drive back later to pick it up!

I recently bought a keyboard and decided to teach myself piano. I bought my husband a harmonica because he wanted to learn for fun. We were looking for some place else and we found this place by accident while walking around. We decided to look around and found some great deals inside. I found some great tutorial books for piano and my husband found one for Harmonica. I definitely plan to return to find more books once we’ve completed these! They’re so reasonably priced!

We needed to find a place that could try to repair my son’s saxophone. It was not a very good quality sax and we knew it may not be repairable. Sure enough, it wasn’t. However, they managed to get it to work enough for him to use while we ordered a new one. Rockin Robbies is the best place I could have ended up at! The customer service we received was beyond anything I have ever experienced at any store! Robin took the time to explain everything to us and had one of her people meet with us about saxophone options for my son. Let me tell you, we got the BEST price out there for the quality of sax my son ended up getting. I HIGHLY recommend this place. This is a store where they treat you like they’ve known you forever and like a personal friend! Thank you Robin and staff!!!

Nice little store. I went their a few days ago to see if they had a certain guitar pick I saw online that guitar center did not even have. I am making this store my first stop for all my guitar needs.

I went in looking for a double bass to rent for my daughter. This was the only place that seemed to carry them in stock. The instrument was well set up and Robbie was a joy to work with and just chat about music and playing in general. She even talked me out of buying things that I was going to purchase as part of a double bass set up, why? Because she is not out to just sell whatever she can, she tells you what you need and don’t need. That’s a business owner with passion towards her customers and not the bottom line. She also has a great selection of music books for many instruments if your looking to learn an instrument or find something to continue your learning. This is not guitar center with 1 million in inventory on hand or arrogant young musician clerks that are more interested in showing you their mad guitar skills. This is a shop you go to and build a relationship with the staff and enjoy the comraderie of music. I was also excited to see that they will be hosting bluegrass music jams soon, great opportunity to learn and grow with other parking lot pickers…

I came in because I needed help tuning my ukulele which I’m very new at. Anthony was a great help and explained everything to me and even wrote down a few notes in case I ever get stuck. He was very knowledgeable and was able to help me find some other things I needed. Then I got to meet Carol(the ukulele instructor) and she was so nice. Invited me to the Uke class on Saturday and even gave me some things to work on to help me out. Also I just wanted to mention that I didn’t purchase my ukulele here, although I’m sure I’ll be back to purchase anything else I need. And because they have some really cool instruments there, including a banjo ukulele. Coolest thing I’ve ever seen! :D Anyway the point I’m trying to get at is they didn’t mind that I didn’t purchase my instrument from their store. They were super helpful and nice regardless.

Ok — I understand these guys get good reviews/5 stars from folks who come here looking for either beginner-type instruments, or lessons for their kids. If you want a beginner guitar, this shop is probably fine. However, if you want work done on any instrument that costs more than, say, $ 100, DONOTGOHERE. They absolutely screwed up my $ 2000 guitar! I dropped my guitar off for a simple adjustment since it started buzzing a little. They called me up and said«we just need to adjust the nut and put on new strings.» I was 100% ok with that as I have had that type of work done on other guitars. I come, pick up the guitar, go home and realize that they drilled a hole in the neck under the nut to remove it and put what looks like paper underneath to raise it up(see picture). It seriously looks like a kid did the work. I NEVEROK’d them to actually damage my guitar. Any qualified guitar tech knows how to safely and correctly remove a nut w/out damaging the guitar. This place is an absolute JOKE. DONOTGOHERE for repairs.

What a great shop! I haven’t played anything since I was 8 but now after collecting a variety of instruments from my parents closets and attics, I’m creating a music room for my 3-yr-old daughter. I brought her with me to pick up a few things and drop off a repair(free evaluation!) The owner was very cool, chill, and encouraging about my daughter touching all of the instruments. I look forward to going back simply for relaxing atmosphere, great chi and inspiration. This place will definitely be my go-to place for all things musical.

This place truly rocks. Robin set me up with a perfect amp at a great price! No pressure to upsell me, totally made me feel at ease as a relative novice. My son and I will be back! Thanks Robin!

We stumbled upon Rockin’ Robbies while walking back to our car after eating breakfast at a nearby café. The tambourines on sale outside caught my eye, so we entered the shop. Inside we met owner Robin Eig who is engaging, very knowledgeable and delightfully helpful. The shop sells everything from guitars and keyboards, to more exotic world-music instruments like thumb pianos, rain sticks, gourds, etc. There’s also a great array of sheet music. Rockin’ Robbies is a magic place — a real gem of a store and a great asset to downtown Concord. We’re seriously considering buying an electronic piano from Robin. Her prices are very fair, and she stands behind her inventory. We’ll definitely be going back soon, and maybe later, just to say Hi to Robin. Yeah, she rocks!

The flute player’s fairie godmother works here and she works serious miracles on sick sounding flutes. I was desperate, had a gig to play on the same sat evening and the faerie appeared. She was off duty and was leaving but she still came and worked her magic on my flute. Years earlier I had taken the flute to another repairman at another shop and he never was able to address all the wonkie stuff happening with the timing mechanism. While she had my flute in her back room the other woman working in the shop, without my suggestior or request, began looking for a loaner flute on her shelves, «just in case», so I would be able to do my gig that evening. What an awesome, thoughtful person. It was like she actually cared and was ready to go the extra mile for me, a total stranger! Within the hour, my flute was healed and playing better than it has in years. And the charge: I was prepared to shell out the couple hundred I usually pay to the other tech at another shop and all I can say is that her charges were minimal. Musicians, relative and friends of musicians, if you live in this area, visit this area, or are otherwise passing through, give these women your business and support their shop. They are outstanding people who run a musician friendly business.

THE best selection of drums(lots of imported exotics), ukes and sheet music(blank sheets, too) that I’ve seen in the area. Fantastic guitar selection, too!

fanFIPPIN-tastic!!! What a treasure! We came in to have my daughter’s clarinet serviced(BESTPRICEANDSERVICE) but found a gem of a store. We bought sheet music and browsed the available reeds, etc… Including a world-cultural cornucopia of musical instruments. Will definitely be back and will spread the word on our school Google group! LOVE that Robin– she ROCKS!

My son has taken drum and guitar lessons at a few different places in the east bay and we LOVE Rockin Robbies! Their staff is amazing! Robyn is wonderful and has a gift for working with children. We are so grateful to have been referred to her store!

Whenever I have a musical need, I just go the store that is the closest to the errand I run that day. So today looking for some specific stuff went to two other stores, before making the special trip to Rockin Robbies/East Bay Music. Not only did they have them, but she knew she had them before even looking. When I wasn’t sure of one book, she played it on the piano for me to make sure it was the right one! No only was the a shoot and score, it was a 3 pointer that was all net! From now on this will be the first stop I make for my music needs!
