The best delicatessen in the Bay Area. Currently known as «Ted’s Delikatessen.» Happy that they showcase Elizabeth’s Flowers here.

This isn’t an American deli where you go to get a sandwich at lunch. This is where you go to buy Polish /European food, beer and wine to bring home and enjoy. And enjoy you will! I lived around the corner from this place for over two years and, sadly, rarely patronized it because I focused my cooking on new cuisines at the time. Now I’ve turned around and am exploring the food and culture of my youth. I only remember a handful of words in Polish and never could read it so I can’t tell you how amazing this place is like a native but, trust me, it is great. Why? A large selection of European beers and wine you won’t find at Bev Mo. Grab some Staropramen beer and experiment with their apple wine. Don’t be a wine snob, please. Enjoy it for what it is. A large selection of Polish sausasages, pâté, deli meat like HEADCHEESE! Oh ya! They have braunschwager with black truffles! OMG! I can’t wait to break in to my package! Look for fresh piroshki and pirogi, too. Packaged cookies, cakes and candies that I can’t pronounce but all taste great. Jellies a gorumet shop would be proud of. I highly recommend the povidla(Ignore my spelling — it’s plum butter.). Try it on top of buttered, toasted bread. My only complaint is that their fresh baked goods section is far, far to small and doesn’t include sweets. Nice staff, too, but you may have a bit of a line on a weekend. Bring your wallet!

Polish & European Delikateski is the posted name of this store. it’s a deli selling all kinds of sliced meats and cheeses but they don’t make sammies here. though they also sell bread. beers on the back shelf are not priced and they all seem to be lager types. many canned groceries, some chocolate cakes(kuchen),. frozen sausages, pierogies(mashed potaoe, meat dumplings)…etc. many canned items for home cooking. almost nothing ready to eat. except for cookies and chocoates. eats: –milka gefullte alpenmilch schokalade erdbeer-joghurt(1.95) milk chocolate bar made in germany, rich in sugar and strawberry cream essence .made by kraft foods. addictive foodnotes: –3.5 stars for novelty and uniqueness. assume priciness since pricing is absent sometimes. –friendly service when possible.

This shop is super cute! The staff are friendly, and the store is packed with interesting European products. There’s a deli counter with various cuts of meats and cheeses, a fridge/freezer section stocked with Polish delights like handmade perogies and pirozhki, pantry shelves filled with chocolates, crackers, jams, etc, and surprisingly, an ample European beer section! Seriously, the beer section is almost half of the shop! They also have taramosalata, which is one of my favorite new found treats! This is one of the only shops I have ever seen it in. This store is a delight to browse! The prices are slightly high, but it’s a specialty food shop, so it’s expected. I usually buy the taramosalata, perogies and pirozhki. I’ve also purchased some hard to find beers here for fun as well. I want to try some of the interesting cheeses sometime. Fun shop!

The store is stocked well enough — they didnt have«Slodka chwila», and their Kisiel selection was somewhat disappointing. They also didnt carry ZUBR beer which is one of the most popular in Poland. i bought some kielbasa and polish cheeses — the kielbasa tasted great, but the farmers cheese has like a mold aftertaste — so I’m guessing is not that fresh:/ I also bought«Torcik Wedlowski» which tasted stale as well. The whole store smelled like«old ppl» and bleach combined — gross! Prices — I have to say overpriced — since you can find polish okocim beer at Grocery Outlets now, and as far of sweets — have somebody send them from poland — they will be at least fresh!

This place is more of a store than a deli. But the meat selection is pretty good. The owner is kind and helpful. I love Ukrainian food and the stuff they carry is pretty good for around here.

WONDERFUL! So many different meats, sausages and cheeses in the deli. Polish bread, jams & jellies, candy, cookies, frozen treats. PEROGI !!! meat, cheese, saurkraut, and sweet perogi. We picked up jarred goodies, I got beet salad and my mom chose pickled celery root, we also got meat and cheese perogi, fresh bread, cookies and sausage. Next time I am there I will take more time to look at the awesome BEER selection. The man who helped us(I’m pretty sure he is the owner) was so friendly, we are having a party and needed perogi, he asked if we were Polish and we informed him no, but we are foodies, we all had a very nice conversation, it was closing time so we didn’t want to hold him, he assured us next time we can try anything in the case we would like. I will go back anytime I am looking for something new and exciting to try, or I want a good sandwich. Love it Love it Love it. So happy I found this little jewel.

This is by far The BESTPLACE in East Bay and San Francisco Area where you can find anything your Parents /Grandparents used to cook and bake. We were extremely pleased with the friendly staff and the quality of products sold in this small grocery store. Highly recommended to anyone who loves European Markets. By the way — try their«Authentic European Head Cheese». A. & P.*

This Delikateski has everything you need from the great meats, imported beers, and tasty sweets. I used to drive from Tracy, CA to Concord, CA with my Polish girlfriend, just to go to this Delikateski and pick up some Polish staples for her parents and ourselves. It was hard not to eat up all the meat on the drive home. There are also informative european newspapers there to keep up on current events over the pond.

if you love finding neat finds in european food, this is the place. Besides having a great Deli Counter they have great canned/jarred foods,(James, Jellies, Preserved Fruit, Kraut, Salads) Wine, Baking Products and Beer. I love this place. It’s fun to just walk around there. I always get my Christmas Candy and baking stuff here. I love it! They also have a great selection of Frozen Peroshki When it’s busy you may have a bit of a wait to get Rung up. This is not a restraunt,. it’s a deli that does not serve food. Just to be clear. They used to have a good bread selection, today they did not. Wierd.

This store reminds me of Poland and Europe. I am there when I want the best(black forest like) ham, real pickles, hearings, kabanosy, pickled wild mushrooms, etc. For sure I am there when I am homesick or when I feel like having a great beer! I am Very happy this place is here.

This place is now called Ted’s Delikateski, and it’s great. I was captivated by the selection crammed into this tiny shop. We made a delicious meal that night of Nuremberg sausages, soft pretzel sticks, pickled veggies, and beer — all from Ted’s!

Now, that I live closer to this place, I can eat all the good food this place offers. It is pricey, thus why lost one star, but quality of products is very good. Nice and very helpful owners. I do recommend this place highly.

This place is under new ownership and is stocked to the ceiling with all kinds of nice fresh Polish and Eastern European products. The pierogi is fabulous as well as the cabanos, kielbasa and other selections of meats. We thought they were going out of business last summer as the shelves were empty but a recent trip was full of delightful surprises. We went crazy and bought all kinds of sausages, spices, soup mixes, mustard, candy, borscht concentrate… etc, etc. Highly recommend!!!

OMG! I finally caught this place when it was open, I spoke with the owner and usually during the summer they close early, which is why everytime I came, there were closed. Oh, how happy I was to be driving by one night to see it open!!! I was running low on my Vegeta and we all know any Polish cook can’t survive without their Vegeta! Also, this was the night before Christmas eve I went in and they had oplatky! I was able to buy oplatky and share them with the family on Christmas Eve! This place is well stocked, the owner is so friendly and during hte holiday season they stay open until 10pm! I couldn’t ask for anything more! Score!

The review before this gave this place onle 1 star because they had German rye bread instead of Polish. However, the name of the place is Polish &EUROPEAN Delikateski… hence German rye bread. And the owner gets his stuff from sources within the united states in order to keep costs down and to be able to privide this authentic Polish fare at all in the East Bay area. They have a large variety if deli meats, some fish, cheese, and many cookies, candies, spices, and other frozen and baked goods including Pierogi(which is already plural… no such thing as Pierogies!!!). I am Polish, born in Warsaw(Warszawa to authentic Poles). I’m so sorry that the 94 year old Polish Babcia argued with the clerk. If you’ve ever been to Poland, customer service is not their specialty. It’s not like it is here where excellent service is demanded. People are people, they are real, honest, and don’t put on the«salesperson» act pretending to be your best friend. If they were out of pierogi, tough… come back when there’s more. That’s just the way it is. Trust that she wasn’t expecting a tip either. Anywho, this place is great and we are fortunate to have it in the East Bay… especially since the only Polish restaurant I know of(Old Krakow on Sloat in SF) closed down not too long ago. I If anyone knows of any new Polish restaurants opening up let me know. I’m sure my mom is getting sick of having to cook for my friends all the time. hehehe

The selection was limited in my opinion, but it had some hard to find items which were mostly Russian or German. I bought«Makowiec» and some«Kabanosy». Plum pierogies were very tasty also but make sure to check for the expiration dates. I will not go back for anything soon since it is way too far for me. Next time I am going directly to SF: Seakor Delicateski

Great place. Good selection of food, especially meats. The lady behind the counter was very nice. It was nice to get some quality kielbasa reminiscent of the old country… Chicago. I’ll be back.

Great Selection of German and and Central European food items. There are lots of soups, spices, pickles, sweets, beer, wine, and meats. The décor ain’t the greatest, but a nice assortment of products.
