Ohana Bros Island Style Snack Company

I get that they have the «Bros Promise» but there’s nothing «island style» about this spot besides their «shaved ice» which you can also buy from Ice N Tea.
PICTURES DON’T LIE, THE MENU IS COMFORT BAR FOOD. If you have ever been to Hawaii, you wouldn’t find any of these items on a menu trying to pass off as «island style snacks» Where’s the spam? Where’s the poke? Where’s the garlic shrimp? Where’s the malasadas?
I tried all flavors of their chips and they were delicious! Flavor was definitely there! Shaved Ice with pineapple & coconut flavor tasted chalky and was just ok. Nothing else appealed to me since nothing about this joint is truly «island style» for shame!

Those fries are FIRE!!! This place is my new addiction/​cheat meal. The staff is super nice it felt like I was in Hawaii while in the little store. Very delicious!

Working in Pleasant Hill one day, I was looking on Unilocal and seeing what was close by that had good ratings and came across this place. I was immediately attracted to snack aspect of this place, especially when I saw they made their own maui onion chips!
After shopping at the mall one day, my best buddy and I decided to come here after we were done for lunch before leaving the mall. I tried a sample of the maui onion chip before ordering and knew I had to get something with that in it. We decided to share some chili cheese maui onion chips and an order of buffalo bacon bleu cheese fries. They were both absolutely delicious! The maui onion chips and fries were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of toppings and seasonings on each one. The buffalo fries were a little spicy, but thats definitely expected with anything buffalo flavored. The chili cheese chips were served with bamboo tongs to eat with which added a cute little aspect to our snack.
Next time I come to this mall I will definitely be eating here again! You can also get some chips in a bag to take home which i’ll definitely be taking advantage of! 5 stars for sure!

Love this place! I love shaved ice and I have had a hard time finding it out here where I live. Someone told me about this place and I am hooked. I’ve had their homemade chips before, but I usually get loaded fries and shaved ice.

We love this place.
We order the baked potatoes style with BBQ chips and extra cheese. Very delicious!
My son enjoyed the ring toss game they have on the side. It’s very challenging but he likes it.
The staff is usually nice.
Oh and the shaved ice is perfect for summer time! Esp if they’re generous with the amount of syrup/​flavors.

For starters, i did come while doing my holiday shopping & as expected, there was a long line. They provide excellent customer service, the gentleman who took my order was super friendly. We ordered the buffalo bacon ranch fries and a keiki size of caramel popcorn.
There were 5 people working, but they were all running back and forth doing different things. They definitely need to work on that. We waited about 10 – 15 mins, but it was delicious!

We’ve been here twice before and really enjoyed their shave ice and rio habanero chips.
Today, we showed up at around noon and the place was pretty busy being that it’s a Saturday and a week before Christmas.
The workers are friendly and try their best to keep the line moving, while still being attentive at answering all your questions.
We decided to go with the huge bag of rio habanero chips and a large shave ice (coconut and pineapple with snow cap). My son and I decided to share the shave ice since neither of us would be able to finish one on our own. We also ordered a keiki size of the caramel popcorn, which was pretty good as well.
They don’t have any extra toppings like mochi or azuki beans for their shave ice, which would definitely make it even better… but when you’re not in Hawaii, I guess beggars can’t be choosers.

A good place for freshly fried chips of 4 varieties. Their popcorn and kettle corn doesn’t seem that fresh. They have 3 sizes to serve their chips in. Also, have topping options if you want to pay extra.
The price is little bit on the high side for chips. However since their main business is chips maybe they have no other choice. Will visit again for taste but not too often as once u get used to the taste the price will look even more crazy.

We don’t live close by, but I’ve had this place bookmarked forever. Finally had the chance to try it and I can’t say I was very impressed. The service was slow and by the time I had gotten to the register to place my order, the gal told me they were out of chips. They should have posted a sign in their display. I ended up with a Shaka Dog. I held out hope but that poor hot dog was drenched in passion fruit mustard and mango sauce, it was so overwhelming. Whoever prepared it was way too heavy handed. Not to mention the hotdog itself was lukewarm.
I love everything Hawaii and about the only thing island about this place was the name, the music playing and the shave ice. I didn’t bother trying the shave ice — didn’t seem to be an authentic Hawaiian spot. How is popcorn and fries Hawaiian anyway? Lol. Would have been cool if they found a really nice way to tie in local flavors with their products, but they just didn’t deliver.
What a waste of a trip into the mall. Would have loved to love it, but it was simply a disappointing experience.

I’ve been wanting to try this place out for a LONG TIME, and my friend and I finally came! I really loved their bbq chip, it was warm and fresh, almost addicting. We got the fries with buffalo blue cheese topping. At first the food was okay… it then became gross after eating it for awhile. It was too heavy and we kind of got sick. I think a small snack size is good, so I would go for regular. I want to try their garlic fries if I can. The staff is great and the manager is awesome. She let’s you sample anything and definitely worth trying. For me, this place is one of those okay I’ve tried it once and that’s it kind of thing.

I love love love this place. I came in yesterday, walked clear across the mall before I was about to leave I remembered how much I loved the Rio Habanero chips that Ohana Bros had.
Not only do they have amazing snacks and food, their staff is incredible. A younger man and a younger girl were working and they were super friendly. The kind gentleman offered me a fresh out of the pot maui onion chip and it was amazing. The girl was more than happy to answer any questions /​offer a few samples. I was in and out of there with a smile!

Could do better by not just adding all the goodies in the top, but also in the bottom. I was left with a bunch of fries in the end with no cheese or anything left to savor :(

Such a bomb ass place! Just went there today. Their food is awesome and was worth the wait! (Keep in mind, the wait is only 10 minutes. It’s worth it. Especially how BOMB the food is.)
And ohhhh my lord, the lady that was working was super sweet and very upbeat. I had no issues.
This is a place I will definitely come by and try again. And I suggest you try it, too.

The past couple times I have been here I have had to wait a bit… It might have been because it is a Friday night or rush hour, but usually does not take as long.
I ended up this time with a snow capped coconut shaved ice! They finally have the cups that mimic the ones they have in Hawaii, but it seems like the size of the actual serving has become smaller… The taste was great, and it melted in my mouth perfectly, but since it is in a smaller cup with a handle, by the time I am half way done, most of it is already melted into a soup like substance, wish they could make it into giant spheres.

Came here with my family to take Easter photos for the kiddos. When we arrived, there was a loooong line for photos. I remembered this place was located in the mall. Ohana Bros. is located on the lower level floor close to the JC Penny side I think… Walked in and was greeted by the owner AND anuhea was playing so definitely felt that island vibe. I ordered their loaded potato fries in a large cause I knew my sister and hubby was going to try some. To be honest, I’m not sure how these loaded potato fries are from the islands? I get the chips and shaved ice but loaded potatoes fries? If they added Kalua pig to them fries then I would totally get it. Anyways the loaded potato fries was delicious. Almost had the right amount of cheese, bacon, sour cream and green onions until I got to the bottom where it was just fries.

…They say first impressions are always the best ones. If that really be the case, then Ohana Bro’s defiantly succeeded! Thanks to another Unilocaler, and that persons pictures and review now I get to write my own. I’ll try not to make it too long okay!
Here we go, I was in the Sunvalley Mall today just browsing and window shopping, the usual things I do after getting paid, my pockets burning to spend. I realized my tummy was on «E» no bueno! So I needed something to munch on. Me the first thing I do is turn to Unilocal to see what’s good to eat in here, while they are still renovating the food court. But then I remembered one of my Unilocal homies review of this place I’m currently reviewing and looked at his pics to sike myself out and pay it a visit. And here is why I’m glad I did.
Great prompt service with a smile! Of course being my first time there of course I had a few questions, gladly the girl at the counter answered them for me. They have gourmet popcorn, chips, french fries and shaved ice here from what I seen and all of it looked delicious, but my review is about the fries. These things were «Da Bomb» Boom! Yea I said it. My tummy is on «Full» as I type this review. They have Chilli Cheese, Buffalo Ranch, and Loaded Potato as the flavor options, of course you can order the fries «steelo» (Urban Dictionary: Steelo — Solo) with a flavored salt option. I went with the Large Loaded Potato option this visit, and the girl at the counter mentioned it was the popular option.
The Loaded Potato is like a take on a baked potato, and with the natural cut fries… It Works! Toppings on this delicious delight are Green Onion, Sour Cream, Cheese Sauce and… Bacon! Give a round of applause for Bacon here. I scarfed these things down and didn’t feel bad about it at all. My only cons about this place is that the Large wasn’t big enough for my appetite: D
In closing, if you’re in Concord, drop by the mall and review this place yourself. And if you love or hate it… Take a pic and Unilocal about it.

I drove 20 miles to try this place. I have been craving Hawaiian shaved ice for months. I ordered the Shaved Ice with vanilla ice cream, pineapple (they make their own juice), coconut flakes and coconut cream on top. It was fabulous. I ordered a large which I did not need but I ate every morsel. The ice was creamy and you could tell the pineapple flavor I chose was real fruit and not a bottled fake syrup. The employees are nice, knowledgeable and gave good suggestions.
I did not try anything else there but they also serve freshly made popcorn, potato chips and fries. Lots of out of the ordinary flavor choices.
Definitely recommend.

I love this place. Everything I’ve tried has been yummy. My personal favorites are the Monkey Brains Shave Ice, the Hurricane Popcorn, and the Loaded fries.
BUT, my main reason for this post is to review their catering. Recently threw a Hawaiian themed birthday party for my daughter and we hired them to serve shave ice. It was a huge hit.
They allowed me to make a special flavor for her (I love monkey brains so I just asked that they make that «Aria’s Special») They were efficient, professional, and delicious. My guest were coming back for seconds and thirds!
Would definitely recommend them if you have a little extra to spend and want something special for your party!

I love this place.
Yummy, yummy selection, just about everything on the menu is great. The service is friendly, though they get a little frustrated when it gets busy.
Things I have tried:
All the Chips with the dry seasoning, BBQ, Mango Chili Lime, Habanero, Maui Onion (the best).
Cheese popcorn: nothing like fresh popcorn with cheese powder.
Just about all the island fries: The Bacon Chili Cheese is extra awesome.
Things I still have to try:
Shave ice: super sad face, haven’t had a chance to try this yet.

Standing room only, with the little swinging game inside, you barely have room to order without something hitting you with the metal ring.
Slow and disorganize: S L O W: the service is very friendly, but the staff seems to work at a snails pace, maybe it’s the whole island effect. No one seems to know where the line was, including the staff. People are just standing around, maybe they ordered, maybe not?

Absolutely one of my favoritest snack shops in the world. It’s a shame this is the only one in existence! If I could, I would shrink this store, shove it in my pocket, and bring it everywhere I go because the food and service here is TOP-​NOTCH (like my belt size)!
They specialize in three of my favorite things: popcorn, potato chips, and FRENCH FRIES! CARBALICIOUS!!! They even have the option to top the chips and fries with yummy gunk like cheese and bacon — literally my dream come true!
When I feel like being a good girl, I get the Maui Onion/​Mango Chili Lime + Jalepeño Popper dip. When I’m feeling naughty, I treat my bad self to some Loaded Potato stuff with either chips or french fries. You can’t go wrong with either! Actually, you absolutely just can’t go wrong with anything here. The people here are also super friendly. If you’re confused and don’t know what flavor chip to get, don’t hesitate in asking for a sample!
I KNOW you’re planning on expanding and taking over the world, Ohana Bros. Until then, I will continue on working out hard at the 24 Hour Fitness upstairs just to enjoy your carbtastic goodness!
