Ripoff! took in two laptops at two different times, paid for estimates only to be told the whole motherboard needed to be replaced. Had them evaluated and fixed at Laptop Rescuer in Santa Clara. One of them had a damaged I/O controller, the other a damaged audio jack. They say they do component-level repair, but that is either not true, or they just are not good at it, since they suggested new motherboards. It took them a week to give me an estimate too, despite paying them for it. Laptop Rescuer gave me a FREE estimate on the very next business day. Horrible service geared at duping people into forking more money over than necessary

I stopped by this place today and it was closed for good. I used it a long time ago 2 times. It was great service. Too bad they are out of business.

*I met the owner, and because he was so great to deal with I added another star to my review* My Toshiba laptop needed to be repaired, and as desperate as I was I went here first(instead of getting all of the recommended businesses from the tech and then Unilocaling each one to read the reviews). I called before coming in and Justin(the guy that took my call) said that my repairs would be done within 3 – 5 business days. The same day I made the phone call I dropped off my laptop and after receiving a grunt for a greeting(how hard is it to provide CUSTOMERSERVICE?) Justin tells me that I’ll hear from a tech within 3 – 5 business days. After my first check in call on January 14(8 calendar days after my drop off) I tried to be patient and wait. I reached my breaking point and called on January 29 and Justin says«your laptop has been fixed since January 15 — the tech didn’t call you?» Obviously he didn’t — who takes pleasure in not knowing what’s going on with their expensive electronic equipment? I walk in to pick up my beloved laptop and I received the same crappy greeting as with my first visit, and didn’t get an apology for the lack of communication regarding my repair. I will never come here again. If I have to drive to Pittsburg, Oakland, or even San Francisco for better service I will do so.

I had kind of a bad feeling when I brought my pc in; the guy who took it from me had a bit of a «yeah so what» attitude, but, I thought, well, he’s a techie, techies are not always known for their social skills, and those aren’t the skills I’m interested in anyway.(He was not the guy Tiffany described; I met him later, and he was very friendly) So, I paid my $ 50 for diagnosis, was told a couple of days. When I finally took my pc back after almost a month of waiting punctuated by stalling phone calls(for example, being told we need to get a basic part to diagnose what was wrong — which I learned later had absolutely nothing to do with the type of problem I’d had, and furthermore anyone who knew anything would know that…), I’d been told nothing could be saved, it was toast, they could build a new one for a lot of money, blah blah. The guy I took it to after that, who DID fix it, not only managed to diagnose what was wrong in about ten minutes, without any special parts, but managed to save most of the memory, too. Hmmm.

This place fixed my husbands old Toshiba laptop a few months ago. I liked the service but it took about a month to get the laptop back. I dropped off my desktop computer here today. They require a $ 50 diagnostic fee. The guy behind the desk is always super helpful and cheerful. Got my desktop computer back in about a month again. They added a new hard drive to replace the one that died, and a new dvd drive which was nice. They only charged me for 1 hour of labor, and parts and a new operating system were about $ 300. Also did a data recovery on the old hard drive too. Service is good but be sure to explain everything you want done to the guy who is servicing your laptop.
