Ask for Joseph. He is a friend and a handy one at that. He doesn’t take advantage of single women looking for a great price on their mechanical needs. I was referred to him and he was honest, sweet, and told me exactly what needed to be done and what he could do for me. I was told my thermostat needed to be changed many times, but he assured me that it was only the sensor. I’ve never been one to price drop, but he changed my thermostat, thermostat sensor, front brakes, and front rotors for $ 150. One heck of a deal compared to what local Charlotte mechanics were charging. I’m so grateful to have met an awesome mechanic and I’ll definitely be returning for future service. I am so glad to have found this small-​town, approachable mechanic. As a woman, I have felt intimidated and taken advantage of by auto shops before, but I have never had a bad experience with Melvin’s. In fact, a female associate recommended them to me. They are straight-​forward, well-​priced, and locally owned. I like taking my vehicle here and have been for over a year now for routine service and inspections. Plus, their timing and turn-​around can’t be beat, and they make sure to give you a call immediately to let you know when your vehicle is ready to be picked up. A great bunch of people here – I would drive a little farther to have continuously reliable and trustworthy service like this.
