Very poor Indian food. We were a group of 7 and ordered many different items on the menu and not even one was above average. Chicken tikka — no flavor and no marination. Why the heck do they even call it chicken tikka? Maybe they need to google up the recipe. Fire up google my friend and maybe a couple of you tube videos. Dal Makhani — This was not Dal Makhani at all. No makhan(butter) in dal makhani. Otherwise, it was an average attempt at mixed dal masala but it was not Dal Makhani. Chicken Patiala: This was perhaps the better ones among the whole list of pretty poor and low effort cooking. It had a few things going for it– nothing to blow you out of the water but at least perfectly edible. Chicken Kadai: Again was tolerable though pretty much average fare. The gravy seemed like it had some color(hopefully edible!) Shahi Paneer: Very poor preparation and was only better the chicken tikka(a very low bar indeed) Naan and Roti: The breads were the best thing they were able to get out of the kitchen. Vegetable Pakora: very bad. It was not cooked completely. The besan flour inside was still raw paste(instead of cooked)

Food is good. Not great. We get better food at many other Indian restaurants in NH and MA. Service is TERRIBLE. We always get either the owner(?) or his daughter(?) and they are both very rude. They forget about us for long periods and then try to rush us when they are ready. We order food and it doesn’t come because WE ordered it from the wrong person(who asked if we wanted to order anything). Tired of giving money to people who absolutely don’t appreciate getting business. Next time instead of walking to dinner we will drive to a better restaurant with(at a minimum) decent customer service.

Best Indian food around! My family has been coming here for take out regularly for as long as I can remember. We always get vegetable samosas, onion naan, chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, and chana masala. The veggie samosas are AMAZING! Best thing they have in my opinion. Chicken tikka is usually really good although sometimes the sauce is a little watery. The chicken korma is really good and more mild which is good for kids. Onion naan is really good and great for dipping in the tikka masala sauce. Can’t really comment on the service because we always order take out. Overall everything is pretty good, but sometimes the sauces are a little watery.

Great food and service! Food is very flavorful but not overly spicy. Our 18 month old loves the vegetable samosas!

Centrally located, clean with good upkeep. I didn’t have to wait long to be attended to or get my food. The Meat Samosas and the Chicken Tikka Masala were very tasty and flavorful, although there wasn’t much spice in them at all… At least not to my liking. All-in-all, good food!

This place was recommended to us by a hostess at an overly busy place nearby. It was just what we needed. Quiet. Lovely service. Very good food. A bit mild so ask for medium.

No Indian food compares to House of India. Best chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had! The staff is also so nice and accommodating!

My boyfriend talked up this restaurant, but I was sorely disappointed when we brought a friend for lunch. Décor– This place is very casual. The dining area is split into two rooms. The entry room is mildly cluttered with miscellanea and a make shift office. It was very quiet for a Saturday during lunch hour. Food-We started off lunch with garlic naan, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. When lunch came, I found the kind of peas/carrots/corn/lima beans you buy frozen in bags in my vegetarian curry. What a disappointment. The rice served with our lunches was more stellar than the dishes themselves. My boyfriend’s serving of chicken tikka masala was more sauce than chicken. The chicken was tender at least. I was disappointed in the lack of flavor in my less-than-fresh curry. The prices do not match the quality of the food. Service-Our waiter was unfriendly and spoke in a monotone, which was unpleasant. Besides that? Service was decent and food came out of the kitchen quickly. Our water glasses never got empty, but it was like being served by a robot still in beta testing.

I have eaten Indian food from Atlanta Chicago New York all the way to Montréal and this was by far the worst food I’ve had in the worst service I have had it any Indian restaurant in 30 years. I had the lamb vindaloo nan and rita. The vindaloo was appropriately spicy but way to tomatoey without much meat or vegetable it was all sauce. I could’ve gotten that Italian restaurant in the rita was way too watery and way too bland and the vegetables were too chunky. The service was horrible after I was seated by a very nice young lady the young college kid waiter was rude and when I asked for it to go container that wouldn’t leak the manager or owner was also extremely rude about providing such a container I will not be eating here again

Well do you want to have the experience of a lifetime and feel like a complete moron and loser by visiting the most ridiculously obnoxious restaurant? Well then you have House of India. A shame and disgrace to «India» that is both the home for respect and tasty foods, this restaurant is the opposite of both. The food tastes very bad. They don’t know how to even prepare proper Chicken Curry or the least, Aloo Mutter(potato gravy). I can prepare better food than these morons. The only people who will appreciate this shitty food are the Americans who are trying Indian food for the first time. These morons can only dupe the Americans with their sub-standard piece of shit that they call food. Next comes respect and the way to treat customers and to listen to constructive suggestions. The manager(or the son of a bitch who runs/manages this place) appears to have his mouth and his asshole interchanged during birth. That’s the reason he talks shit and is very very rude. I thought I was the only one ill-treated, but reading the other comments, looks like they have earned themselves quite a reputation for insulting customers. If you don’t want to spoil your day and to save yourselves from a miserable insult and bad shitty food, avoid visiting this restaurant.

Delicious food, really. Absolutely the worst service I have experienced to date — not the best in customer service here, I waited well over ten minutes before I had to ask someone to take my order.

Note how every reviewer on here is white and none are Indian nor Middle Eastern? I know Indian food. This is average, at best, with subpar quantities. You get Bangalore food at Taj Mahal prices. Ridiculous; I only buy because I am in the area. $ 8.00+ for a decent sized portion of kheer? Oh my gods.

We have been looking for a good Indian Restaurant for a while. This place has good food and great service. Be warned, they take spicy seriously. If you can’t handle spicy, stick with mild only.

I have read some really mixed reviews of this restaurant but after my experience, I’m a fan. The service was good, the server was a young man but very polite and helpful… especially when it came to helping a table of indecisive people. He gave us recommendations and the food was GREAT! The four of us eating all shared plates and gave tastes of each dish. None of them was a disappointment. The atmosphere was OK, but I’m really there for the food so wasn’t a huge issue for me. It was priced accordingly.

This restaurant is the best Indian you can get in the area. I ordered the eggplant dish called bhindi bhagain(?) and a lamb special dish that was lamb, chicken, and shrimp in a spinach purée. Both dishes were very good. They were overpriced given the amount. The garlic naan was very good. It was a great complement to our 2 dishes. The rice that came with the dishes was very much less than impressive so I didn’t even touch it. I gave this 4 stars because it’s the best in the Concord area. This would get 3 stars if the restaurant were in NYC

Guys, never visit this place. The man, who I think is the Manager, is very ill mannered and talks in a very rudely. I literally walked out of the restaurant. And to add, food sucks. Last but never the least, the music is awful. It’s not even single star worth. I request the owner of the restaurant to respond and would really want to share my feedback.

I’ve been to House of India several times since moving to the area, and have had decent food and probably the worst service in a restaurant ever, each time. More on the service later. First, the food. The vegetable samosas are excellent. One time they seemed a little cool, like they may have been sitting for a few minutes before they brought them out, but they were still tasty. The tamarind sauce that comes with it is ok, but not great. It’s a little thin, and I like mine with more of a bite. I’m used to getting chutneys and sauces on the table for an Indian food meal, and they don’t bring anything out that you don’t specifically ask for, and they didn’t have mint chutney when I asked once. I don’t know if they were out of it, or just don’t ever have it, but I thought it was odd. I’ve had three different entrees there: Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Curry. All were good. Not the best I’ve had, but not the worst. The Vindaloo was nice and hot, but not blow-your-socks-off hot, and I was ok with that. Sometimes I do like it over the top, but I can’t blame them for keeping it reasonable in New Hampshire. Folk here aren’t that keen on spicy, for the most part. The rice is great. Simple, well-cooked, and tasty. Most Indian food places will give you a choice of rice or naan with a meal, but this is rice only, and naan is an extra charge. Speaking of naan, if you decide to try House of Inda, treat yourself to the garlic naan. It is fantastic. Trust me on that one. However, I don’t actually recommend this place for dining in. The service is simply awful. I’ve had the same man seat and serve me every time, and I must say I’ve ever met someone less qualified for his job. He’s not friendly, not accommodating, not fast, and has been consistently rude. I assume he’s the owner, as he seems to be there every time, and handles it all himself. If you read this, House of India, take some advice and hire a friendly, qualified server. You will get a four star review, if you do. For now, I’ll do take-out or make the drive to Manchester. A lunch buffet would be nice, as the food is good enough that I’d like to try some different dishes all at once, instead of having to go back and try them one at a time. Also, I wouldn’t have to deal with the waiter as much that way. It’s the only Indian food restaurant in Concord, so there’s no other choice if you’re in the area and want something close. But take some friendly advice, and do take-out.
