Rude, slow service. Food was ok, nothing special. Cash only place in 2016– enough said.

If you don’t mind rude service the food is good and it’s cute. I’ve been quite a few times hoping for a change and it never happens. We had a young sever who was couldn’t be bothered saying hello asked if that was all we were ordering and took our money without saying thank you. She was clearly annoyed and ready for us to leave when my friend forgot it was cash only and tried to pay with her credit card.

Prices are good. Staff is sweet. Food is what you’d expect from a diner, but because it is Concord, I’d expect a little bit higher quality.

Love it here! I eat here frequently because the food is good, the workers are always nice, and it is pretty close to where I live. It is a pretty small space and usually pretty crowded, so it can be really crammed and loud, but it is a nice place to grab food, for all three meals of the day! Five stars might be a little much for just the food and service, but I have come here almost too many times to count and I have never been disappointed, so that is why this is getting five stars. As a side note, I recommend the apple and turkey panini and the baja burger.

Went for breakfast. One waitress was friendly and was as efficient as one could expect. Home fries were hot, but my egg was cold. Bacon tasted microwaved. OJ tasted like it was from one of those machines in a cafeteria. You pay the same amount if you ask for 1 egg instead of 2, but ordering everything a la carte with 1 egg would cost more than the special with 2 eggs. This was the most expensive restaurant breakfast I’ve eaten in any of the surrounding towns, including Concord itself. Cash only.

I eat here a fair amount with family and friends, and can really just sum up my Helen’s experience with one word: average. Okay, maybe slightly above average. The Frappé’s, especially the chocolate, are very good. However, the food is fairly standard American. I am always a little annoyed that Helen’s ONLYTAKESCASH, requiring me to stop at a bank first if I’m out of cash. That said, the Helen’s is casual, a nice spot to meet a friend for a bite out, good for groups, and good for kids.

We love going to Helen’s for Sunday breakfast and on Friday nights. They have the usual American Café classics like burgers, sandwiches and salads. What we really like are the specials which are not the usual fare; Cuban Sandwiches, tacos, breakfast burritos, etc. Helen’s offers consistent good food and the waitstaff are super nice.

First time at Helen’s, a great café location in Concord Center. The staff was great and attentive. The«ABLT» sandwich on toasted wheat bread was large, moist and very delicious. Their Sweet Potato Fries were light and crispy. Honestly, it was much better than I’d expected. I look forward to trying their breakfast offerings.

GREAT solid classic weekend breakfast! Got the corn beef hash with eggs. Came out hot and plentiful. Our group also share a bowl of fruit which was very fresh and delish. Our waitress was very friendly and came by to check on us frequently with a hot pot of coffee in her hands. I can’t wait to come back again and try their lunch/dinner. Only downfall to this place is that they only take cash. So come prepared.

Came here on a Tuesday night at 4:45 and the booths were completely empty. We sat down in whichever booth we wanted. There was only one waitress and she came over to talk to us right away. My sister got the Helens special burger with sweet potato fries. This girl is tiny but she said it was so good that she basically licked the plate! I got the Spanish rice bowl, which was okay. The brown rice was hard and the dish was bland overall. The avocados on top were brown. My mom got the mango salsa salmon, which came with a garden salad with balsamic. She said the dish was okay, would not get it again. Remember this place is cash only! You go up to the register with your receipt and leave the cash tip on the table. It seemed there were a few regulars because the waitress kept on asking how work, kids, life was.

My family has been eating here for 15 years and it has been consistently great. Top quality ingredients(Iggy’s bread) cooked in an open kitchen by friendly people at good value prices. My kids are just about grown now so it’s harder to drag them over to Helen’s. Oh well, my wife and I go alone now.

Be forewarned, this place only takes cash. It is 2015, people. Who doesn’t take credit in this day and age? It is fairly expensive for a smaller town. $ 4 for a lemonade? Never again. I ordered a Turkey Reuben and was served a soggy tasteless sandwich with a heap of cole slaw on it and no cheese. Where is it that cole slaw is part of the recipe for a Reuben and no cheese? Typically, when the order includes a slice of pickle, you expect a quarter of a dill, this must have been an 8th of a pickle. The chips that come with it were so thick and stale, I could not eat them. Disgusting. The servers spent more time jawing behind the counter than they did serving customers. It took me over 10 minutes to try to flag one of them down for refills on my drink. Ridiculous. I should have gone to the Italian restaurant half a block down the street. No, I don’t live there, but if all works out, I will be in town 3 days a week for the better of two months and I will never go back there again.

This place is the physical manifestation of a warm hug. Its selection of dishes caters to everyone and it’s the perfect hole in the wall joint for every occasion. Reading a book and dining alone– perfect. Bringing friends for a quick lunch– even better. I try something new every time I go and I’m never disappointing. Some people complain about it being cash only… shouldn’t you have cash on you always anyway? I feel like that’s just a cardinal rule of adulthood. You should be fine!

We often grab lunch or an early dinner at Helen’s before we walk some of the local trails, or stroll around Walden. The food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly. I recently tried their chocolate milkshake and was blown away. It was soooooo good!

Cash only? It’s 2015, figure it out already. Buffalo chicken wrap is good though, try it with bacon and cheddar.

Neighborhood diner serving bland food. Particularly disappointed by the straight-out-of-the-can beans, not even warmed up.

Nice local small town kind of restaurant serving up fairly basic diner type food right in the middle of Concord, Mass. I arrived here with a party of four at about 1PM on a Tuesday and there were no tables available and the place was packed. However, they are very fast and efficient about getting tables cleared and even with a few people in front of us we waited no more than five minutes for a table. Menu is pretty basic. They have a wide variety of different wraps, sandwiches, and salads to choose from. I went with a shrimp po wrap and fries. Everything was good and food comes out pretty fast. I was spending the day doing sightseeing in the Concord and Lexington area so I was looking for a basic place for food and some quick midday relaxation before getting back out for more sightseeing. The restaurant has that old town restaurant feel to it. In addition to booths and tables they have a counter you can sit at. I really liked this place because the waitresses are all very efficient and fast at what they do, food still maintains quality even though it hits the table pretty quick, and when you eat here you truly feel like your getting some local flavor. Prices aren’t super cheap but not bad either. If you are looking for a sit down restaurant that has a bit of variety and can get you in and out relatively quick then this is your place.

Helen’s is a cute little deli/sandwich type restaurant in Concord. It was a Wednesday night and was busy for the time so I figured it must be good. They had a lot of sandwiches and burgers. I goe their philly cheese steak which was sooo goooood I would drive back there for another. The bread they said they get from Iggy’s and was so nice and soft which just added to the cheesiness of the sandwich. The coleslaw was also pretty good.

That lobster BLTA though… A stands for Avocado. Really just an amazing sandwich, for a great price. it may seem expensive at 18 dollars, but it is HUGE. Three of us split two of these sandwiches and a salad, and we were quite full. MMM delicious. The ambiance is much more of a diner than we expected, but it was cute and small-towny, given that we were in Concord, MA. Perfect place to grab lunch before seeing Walden Pond!
