We purchased the home warranty with our home. Shortly after moving in the a/c system stopped working. To make a long story short: –They sent out a inexperienced a/c guy –He diagnosed rodent damage –It was not rodent damage it was an abandoned wire that had weed eater damage and had nothing to with the a/c –He originally told us that he couldn’t tell us what was wring with the a/c he had to tell fidelity. –The warranty was denied so we complained –Another a/c guy comes out @ $ 65 and«resets the a/c –It was winter we tested it once –A bit over 30 days later we tested it and it didnt work –Another $ 65 dollar fee!!! –Still no resolution They strive not to pay any repairs. They are shady and should be avoided!!!

Yes our home warranty covered our furnace, but no, it wasn’t easy getting the work done. About 2 hours after we moved into our new home, the thermostat went blank and cool air started coming out the vents. I called Fidelity and within 24 hours I got a call from a plumbing/heating contractor. His schedule was booked solid and it took a week or so before he was able to come out. When he came out, he thought the problem was a simple fix, and to his credit the heat did run for about a day before it died again. I called Fidelity again and they had the same plumber call me back and again he was booked solid, so we had to wait another week. This time when he came out, he said the furnace was damaged and needed to be replaced. He said he’d get permission to do the work from Fidelity. I got a call from Fidelity the next day saying they were denying the claim. I emailed them a copy of our home inspection showing everything in working order before we moved in. After some phone calls, Fidelity said the work was a 2-person job and the 1st plumber was just a 1-man operation. So, a different plumber called me to schedule. His availability was much better. When he showed up alone, I told him I was expecting 2 people because it was going to be a 2-person job. He explained that was just a story Fidelity tells customers when actually they send out a different company when the first company thinks a replacement is in order because they want to get a second opinion. This plumbers opinion was that yes, parts of the furnace had been warped by heat and a replacement was needed. Fidelity said the report they read was that the furnace was rusted, and since rust is something that takes years to become a problem, it was a pre-existing condition. I told them that didn’t make sense because the copy of the report didn’t mention rust at all. I asked them to look at the copy of the home inspection I sent and they could see for themselves it wasn’t pre-existing. After some pleading, they agreed to cover most of the replacement. A month later(it was a pretty cold and damp January), our heat is working again. It cost us $ 2,000 out-of-pocket, but that’s better than the full cost of parts and labor. I’m glad we had an insurance policy and an inner sense of empowerment because Fidelity really makes you work for it.

I will never use this company again. My water heater broke and was cover by the insurance but they charged me separate to connect it? to the toon of $ 400.00! How does that work? This isn’t the first time either so they are NOT going to be used in the future.

My water heater had a leak on a Friday and I contacted Fidelity to arrange for a contractor to get it fixed. Everyone I talked to was professional and helpful. Authorizations were obtained somewhat promptly and by the following Monday, there was hot water in the house again. So I must be one of the luckier ones.

Try to get someone in the phone. There’s one number, 18 gazillion departments, and at least a 25 Minute wait each time you call. And you will call repeatedly because they can’t seem to get anything right at first. Still waiting for a check that was due two months ago. AND My heater broke. They won’t pay for 70% of the costs because they are excluded costs. They cover the heater, but not anything related to making the heater work, like thermostat, hooking up to the gas line, etc. so a $ 2100 job they are giving me $ 800.

We have pool, spa and equipment insurance with fidelity, let me tell you this, THEBIGGESTSCAMEVER !!! DONOTTRUSTTHEM, a part of my pool equipment broke down and needed to be replaced and they denied the replacement and service under the excuse that: ITWASCONSIDEREDLUXURY? ??? when in the world a jacuzzi and pool has been a necessity? Besides they charge you 65 dollars. I have heard from several sources as well that they will try to fight and denied as much as they can. Not worth doing business with this company.

Worst insurance company I have ever worked with. We bought our home in November and after moving in discovered there was no hot water flowing from the bath tub and the shower was temperamental at best. Fidelity sent out two different technicians that were incompetent, unprofessional and rude. We put up with their shenanigans because we have two young children that take baths every night. Fidelity made us pay $ 600 out of pocket to replace a tankless water heater that didn’t need to be replaced. My Dad finally figured out it was a clogged pipe and forced the idiot technician to check it; low and behold we have hot water after clearing out the pipe! Now we’re trying to recoup that $ 600 and Fidelity is refusing to refund us. Oh, and to add insult to injury the tech broke one of my nice lamps. Stay far away from this company!

Owned our home now for 3 months. Three attempts at using our fabulous home warranty and three times turned down. This company is a complete joke! This is the only review you need to read: STAYAWAYFROMFIDELITYNATIONALHOMEWARRANTY! I am surprised that the California Department of Consumer Affairs has not done something about them! How does a company with 367 Negative Reviews in the last three years have an A rating with BBB? That alone should tell you something isn’t right with this company!
