This restaurant just became my favorite Persian one. The food and service A+. Keep up the good food and service! The koobideh was to die for!

I’ve come here every year for the last four years for my birthday. They are always 100% amazing about accommodating our large group. Sue is an amazing server, super kind and on the ball. The food is incredible. The kebabs are great. The pomegranate-walnut stew on crispy rice is life changing. The vegetarian appetizers, especially the spicy picked vegetables, are beyond good. If I didn’t live so far away in Berkeley, I would eat here all of the time. As it is, I look forward to it every year.

I have been looking for a good Persian restaurant but this was prob my worst restaurant experience where we ordered Lamb Chops and a combination plate. The lady took the order and brought the food. To our surprise the food was wrong and she stated that they are of out of Lamb Chops!!! And said why don’t you try lamb chunks… I was like wtf… But since it took 40 mins to bring the food with only three tables occupied… We took it. Then for desert they served crunchy noodles with ice cream called Faloodey… Most amazing BS when the man came from kitchen to explain to me that falooda is supposed to be crunchy… Never going back… Shitty experience overall.

This restaurant is AWESOME! Do not read the negative comments because those persians are all STUCKUP, and writing their experience from 1 visit. They think they are food critics, well your not! I have been coming here for more than 5 years, the food is exceptional and the service is professional and welcoming. I came here on my birthday once and received tea, persian ice cream, and ghorme sabzi(my favorite) for FREE because the lady is super nice. I love this place, and the people. Its a classy joint as well.

Yesterday was a very special day for me and my special need son, it was our birthday. Didar Persian Cuisine catered the most awesome party for us. The owners were the most professional, kind, generous and welcoming to us and our guests. There were 25 people in our party everyone was pleased and served in great timely manner, loved the food, atmosphere, the lovely people serving and the entertainment . Most of all making it possible and memorable for my son and all the guests. I highly recommend Didar Cousin for all your parties and social events. Thank you everyone for making the happiest birthday possible for us.

I have been coming here for years. My entire family loves this place. The owner’s wife Sue is always willing to spend a little time with customers whether it’s to explain items on the menu or just spend time with the people, very personable. Great place, great atmosphere, and wonderful food. Never a bad experience. Keep up the great work.

We decided to give it a try at this place because it’s got good reviews on Unilocal and also there’s a Groupon available. But our experience was disappointing. The food was mediocre and overpriced and their service was ridiculously slow and inattentive. There seems to be some attitude when we were there, too. We were there for lunch and asked if we could use the Groupon. The waitress told us that there are lot of rules and restrictionists. it’s only for dinner menu and it REQUIRES a reservation. So no, we couldn’t use it. I could understand if it’s for dinner menu only, but at the time(lunch hour), there were total of 4 tables. Reservation required? Ha ha. The service was the worst part of the experience. When we walked in there were only three tables, with one finishing up. After standing around for almost 10 minutes, we were seated with the dinner menu. We sat there for another 15 minutes without water or drinks, and finally I had to flag the waitress down to take our order. The waitress asked us if we want any appetizers, so I asked to leave a menu so we could pick something. With six appetizer choices and most of them are with eggplant ingredients, the waitress came back and told us the one we ordered was out. So finally being the last table of the 4, we got our food 40 minutes after we ordered. Overall it just seems they are very understaffed and unprepared.

Please read all the negative comments before going there. We saw the worst attitude ever. After our food was done we told the wife of the owner in a friendly way that the attitude is missing in their service and she got extremely defensive.(there were no one in the restaurant) She said everyone loves me and I mentioned the few negative reviews on Unilocal. She continued saying that I must have written them. I showed her the review from 2 months and 4 months ago. She started yelling and calling us names and asked us to leave. She also said she can refuse service to anyone she wants too. She called our guest stupid… I am extremely embarrassed for her. As Persians we are always proud of our friendly mannerism and loving attitude towards others. Unfortunately she is the worst example of an Iranian. The food was not good, over priced and very small portions. We paid for the food and left. I wish Unilocal had negative points too!!!

Went there with another couple. We ordered two appetizers and salad to start. Comes with flat bread. Then all of us ordered different kabobs which came with delicious basmati rice. The wine was inexpensive. The staff were very personable and efficient. The food was great and worthy of a return visit. We all wound up taking home doggy bags because the servings were generous.

Honestly, this place is a hidden gem. I’m so fearful they will close because they are not busy during the week nights. Ok on to the food… This place has the best koubideh and chicken kabob that I’ve ever had. So many of their dishes are so damn good! The fesenjan on top of tahdig is so amazing! The baby Lima been with dill and garlic is to die for! Add some lemon to that dish and it really pops!!! I’ve had a lot of middle eastern food not just Persian. This honestly is the best… Service can be slow at times but I’ll excuse that because the food is that good. The only place that can one up Didar is lavash only for its desert and salad… The proteins at Didar is unmatched anywhere!!!

I called at around 11:15am for a to-go order. The lady on the phone said it would take an hour. I told her to forget it, so she switched to 20 mins. Um Ok… weird. Got the koobideh, and thought it was really tender and tasty. Some might find it a tad under seasoned, but I prefer my food on the less salty side so it was perfect for me. They provided plenty of rice with the order. Serving portion was fair for the price(around $ 10). I’d come back.

A nice family run restaurant that serves a juicy lamb kabob(shishlak) with perfectly cooked and fragrant rice. The service is friendly and the décor inviting and relaxing, a real find in Concord.

Wonderful place! I’ve never had Persian food, but love trying new foods and decided to give it a try. EXCELLENT food and even better service. The staff was very friendly and informative… I like to learn so I had a lot of questions! Our server brought us lavash with a tomato and cucumber salad and cheese… It was so fresh and delicious. For our main meal, we each had the shish kabobs(filet mignon) with ½ rice and ½ veggies… again, delicious! For dessert we had the baklava and ice cream. Both were equally delicious. The server was so sweet and genuinely wanted to tell us about their food. It was much appreciated, considering we were new to all of it. It’s safe to say we will definitely be visiting this establishment again!

What a wonderful discovery! I’ve been everywhere in the Middle East with the exceptions of Persia itself and the Levant and have always been head over heels for the food. The Persian food in Bahrain and Kuwait set a very high bar indeed. I must objectively say that Didar belongs in the same basket. Didar has a diverse menu and does an exceptionally good job of delivering a lot of value for the money. Didar delivers the goods. What I love about Persian food is the freshness and originality of the flavors and the clean clarity of the presentation. Didar gets this equation exactly right. We had a wonderful lunch and are planning a quick return. Granted, we just popped in for a quick lunch and the ideal way to dine on a mezze-type menu is to have dinner in a loud boisterous group, open a couple bottles of wine with plates passing up and down the table over a couple hours. We’ll have to dial that up next time.

disappointed at the belly dancing. I was looking forward to the belly dancing with dinner. The belly dancing isn’t exactly real belly dancing, if you have seen one before. One single dancer, was there for maybe 30 minutes, and gone. Food was OK, portions small.

SF and east bay is all about trendy food — new and customizable and innovative, but this is the opposite. It feels very homey and authentic, without trying too hard to be anything else. The pricetag is high, esepcially if you’re thinking about how cheap the halalguys back home in NY is, but the flavor is definitely there. The yellow rice is done extra fluffy, the veggies are well roasted, and the meat chunks are supurb. I also tried a walnut pomegranate curry, over rice, so delicious. Sweet and nutty, but every so softly. I wish it came with more besides the sauce though. One of their roasted eggplant garlic spread is to die for… but I don’t know which one. I could eat that with pita all day. Its family run I believe, and they make a great effort to connect with their guests. They came around an introduced us the proper way to drink the tea, with the sugar cube on the side. Belly dancing on friday evenings? Too bad we had to leave before the show started…

I called at 3PM for a 4PM dinner reservation. When I got there at 4:04PM, two glasses of ice water was placed at our table waiting for us. The hostess asked me if I had called and took me to our table. We ordered the lamb chop(24 dollars) with saffron rice and two broiled tomatoes. Six cute lamb chops were charred nicely along with a giant plate of super fluffy saffron and two nice large broiled tomatoes. We also ordered the baked chicken with Lima bean and dill rice. The chicken was so tender that it was falling off the bone. Not much flavor but there was a Persian grape spice on the table and it went perfectly with the baked chicken. Portions were huge. I think I got half a chicken and lots of Lima bean rice and it was 15.95. Overall, it was a nice experience as the dining room was very pretty and adorned with Persian art with beautiful women and red dining tables. Pricey but certainly a nice place to eat if you like Persian food and you’re hungry. Great place to bring a date!
