Buttercup Grill & Bar

Let me start the review by saying I HATE breakfast, nor do I eat it often. So take that in to consideration when reading the following.
From the moment you walk in, you dont feel rushed, you get the sense everything is moving right along. Then once your seated, the feeling returns. The waitress came probably 8 times during my visit, but at perfectly timed intervals. The food was alright (again, remember i hate breakfast) eggs are eggs anywhere to me, but i really like how you get a little muffin at the end, its one of those things that companies do to win you over, and it works! I really enjoy this spot for breakfast now, they won me over :)

This location is pretty far away from most of these City area is incredibly rural. However let’s talk about the service which was okay. We were greeted immediately by the a host. We were seated properly and in a good location this is a very nice looking restaurant with a full bar and TVs so it can be a technical sport bar for watching game or event. Now for the food I ordered the fish and chips which came out still and rubbery and I could not pull them apart or cut him with my knife. I notified the waitress and she did not believe me so I picked up the fish then try to pull the fish apart with my hands. I’ve been trying to cut the fish with my knife finally she believed me. Then asked what else I would like on the menu I mentioned I will take the chicken fingers meal. He brought out the chicken fingers 35 minutes later my companion was already eating her dinner and was finished. I received the chicken strip dinner with french fries and no side and was charged full price. I received an order of chicken strips and not the dinner. So we were batting zero on my mail. I received my check and the fish was removed but the chicken dinner was full price. I was very upset at the service that I received regarding my meal, service I was given regarding my mail, and the end result of the entire atmosphere was a very unprofessional. The manager made no excuses and the server just said sorry and went around about her business. I felt that I was mistreated in this restaurant and I also felt that they expected me to eat old and bad fish. However I did get a little sick because of the side order I received with my fish with coleslaw and I believe the coleslaw was not fresh or even quality enough to be served. But I was hungry and I trusted them you would be healthy and safe to eat. I gave this business to start with a simple case that it was a beautiful interior location but they need better Cooks, better servers, better hosting, and that’s our problem solving.

Time for an update on Buttercup.
The interior has recently been redecorated. While I agree that the décor needed to be «refreshened,“I am not sure I like the grey tones. The whole feeling is rather cold and not as warm and welcoming as in the past.
Our most recent visit was a weeknight evening around 7:30 PM. We were tired after a long day of air travel and only wanted some «comfort» food. Soup and salad for me and a taco salad for DH.
Only a handful of other customers, but service was quite slow. Our waitress was very chatty with other people which added to the slow service.
My tomato soup was delicious, but I was disappointed with the house salad. It was basically greens, a few shredded carrots, and two croutons. I was assured that was the standard house salad, but the server did bring me some tomatoes and cucumbers as a much-​needed «add on.»
While I realize it is important to keep staff busy on a slow night, I did not particularly like that two servers spent so much time sweeping the floor with what appeared to be very old, dirty brooms. Unappetizing!
We will be back. but perhaps not as frequently as in the past.

This place rocks!!! My main server here is Dallas and she does a whiz bang job. My main item at Buttercup when I order a not sweet item is… THE POTATO SOUP EXTREME SUPER YUMS.
Get that with bread and butter and you will have plenty of food…
Just in case ur hungry for desert the UPSIDE APPLE PIE IS AMAZING. Speaking of work this location just had a major face lift done. Enjoy and when you leave expect to have leftovers.

This is a great place! When we first moved into our house in Concord our neighbor recommended Buttercup Grill when we were looking for a place to grab some dinner with family that was visiting. Our server was super friendly, outgoing, and fun! She really made the experience great and the food tasted great! It wasn’t the typical restaurant flavors, it had a «grandma’s home cookin» type flavor that makes for some good comfort food!

It took forever to get our food and come to find out that the waitress’ order never went through. Then when we got our food and it was cold. The waitress was nice but the food was below expectations. First time there and probably the last time.

Great service, menu and food. I usually sit at the bar in the early morning and order one of their specials as I watch sports on the tv behind the bar while sipping my coffee and eating biscuits and gravy — you can’t go wrong here, it’s a Concord institution.

It was really busy and the service was still good, we sat at the bar so we didn’t have to wait and the bar tender was on top of everything, the food was really good too! Definitely going back

Second time here and I have nothing but positive things about to say. They’re renovating and the interior looks so much more updated. They serve breakfast all day, huge bonus, as well as nice seasonal items. I had the Cinniscuit french toast with blueberry sauce. So good! The portions are huge too so i ended being full before eating my eggs. I highly recommend it as its their own creation and the blueberries compliment it so well. We will definitely be back for more buttercup.

Came back again and as the universe would have it I was sat in the exact same seat as previous.
This waitress however was all over it. Quick service, food was great & all was well.

I like their vegetarian eggs Benedict. I get it every time and the service is good. My only complaint is their utensils and dishes are never fully clean looking… Most of the time there will be dried food on my fork, I have to replace it. I think they need a better washing technique. It’s a real turn off…

I’m a Reuben fanatic. I’ve tried all the Reuben’s around. I was surprised but also very pleased to find out that Buttercup’s is the best. The bread, corned beef (not fatty at al), meat to sour kraut ratio lol it’s all very good. Only suggestion, it should come with a bunch of pickles, not just one lol (I love pickles.)

Buttercup has made some nice updates to their menu during the past year. Service is always friendly, too. A good place for a casual lunch or dinner with the family.

Great service, pleasant atmosphere and vegetarian options that are actually yummy.
I was worried that this place would be like so many of its kind and serve non– meat dishes as if my choice to not eat meat means I don’t care about how my food tastes, but I was very pleasantly surprised! I’ve had experiences like that in many similar places so I usually avoid them. It is so nice to be able to go to a place like this that my husband and kids like where I don’t have to resign myself to something gross.
I had the Avocado melt and I loved it. I did not expect to like it so much, but it had plenty of salad greens and some kind of pesto mayonnaise with jack cheese on grilled sourdough. I had it with the curly fries and ranch dressing instead of fruit. My daughter loved that they had pancakes at 5pm and I couldn’t believe it was open until 10pm on New Year’s Eve!
They actually had some other vegetarian options that I will be trying some other time, but Im not sure about the veggie burger since it is listed under the ‘lite’ section. It makes me wonder what the burger is made from and I would rather have high fat content than low fat fake and/​or plastic stuff.
The service is always really great here. Now that I have seen more than their breakfast menu I will be back more often.

Went for breakfast and ordered the classic breakfast combo and an omelette, both with O’Brien potatoes. Everything, EVERYTHING, was so greasy. I had to take a napkin to wipe off excess grease from my over medium eggs. That being said, the food was just ok. The banana walnut muffin was my fav.
The host/​manager was off-​putting but our waitress was great. After waiting about 20 min for our food (at about noon on a Sunday), part of our order came out wrong but they quickly fixed it.
I won’t be coming back. If I want greasy (but faster) breakfast, I’ll just go to Nations.

What can I say, this place reminds me of Lyons, which was what it was before it became Buttercup. It’s diner style food with a full bar. I only come here when visiting my parents. Not by choice. The service is hit and miss. There is a flamboyant server there who turns me off with her attitude and her super long nails that sometimes dips into the food on the plate she is carrying. I just request not to be seated in her section anymore. I have complained about her several times and nothing has changed.

Manager she was rude and lie when my son open his happy meal from mc donalds, we didn’t got service so we went to Black Angus no problem.

My waffle was okay. Not worth $ 7 but it was ok. Everyone else in my group liked it.
Would definitely come back again.

This restaurant is very casual, clean and the food was very good the breakfast Tbone steak was just rite. I tried there Cinnamon biscuit I loved it. There food is Better than Dennys. The outside looks a bit like old update the paint. The inside is nice.

Being a fan of the Buttercup in WC, I decided to give this one a shot for breakfast one morning.
The place still withholds that somewhat outdated, somewhat 80s façade; and for that reason, I love it all the more. The layout is also quite spacious with plenty of seating arrangements, and they also provide a small bar.
I came in fairly early and was greeted and seated by a warm, cheerful server. They offer a fantastic breakfast menu including a wonderful selection of omelets to choose from. I ended up getting their Chorizo Omelet consisting of: Spicy Mexican beef sausage, tomatoes, onions, Jack & Cheddar cheese and green
chiles. The omelets also come with your choice of toast and hashbrowns. I opted out on the toast and just had the hash. I also ordered coffee.
Coffee was actually pretty decent. Omelet than arrived looking decent in presentation. It turned our pretty good for the most. My only complaint is that the spices didn’t taste as fresh as you should expect, though not horrendous. Overall it was pretty good. Prices are fairly reasonable too.
Overall, friendly warm service, decent hearty food, and reasonable prices. Definitely going to visit again :)
