We’ve had the opportunity to contribute to the Bay Area Crisis Nursery and get to know many of their staff and volunteers. It is an incredible organization that provides essential services to parents with young children that are in need of help.

Good to know our non used formula will go to someone who needs it. I just hope they aren’t charging for it.

I am excited to begin volunteering here and playing with the kids(and hopefully holding babies). I have yet to start, but from my tour of the facility, all I can say is wow! The building was remodeled in 2005 or 2006 and it used to be a house that a nun, Sister Anne bought. Sister Anne started the nursery 30 years ago and it is fully funded by donations, not the government. The building is really nice and beautiful inside; there are cute animal paintings and everything is the right level for kids. The backyard is large with a playground, sandpit, and a cement loop for the children to ride their tricycles around and around. Everything is extremely well organized, which impressed me the most! To correct the review below, children can stay up to 30 days, and must stay at least 24 hours when dropped off during a crisis. The nursery also HIGHLY encourages parental interaction during the child’s stay, whether via phone, or coming by to visit. I encourage you to volunteer! What you sign up for is only one, 3 hour shift per week, and the staff wants you to try to keep that same shift week after week, but they are so nice and understandable.
