Note: This was base on experience with one particular barber, not the entire establishment.
First off, when i seek a barber I expect him to be a good listener and pays attention to detail. Why you might asked? If a barber lacks either skill, they will be going to hack your head into the way they perceive your cut should be instead of how you (the paying customer) requests it to be. This was my experience at American Barber Studios. When i sat down into his chair, i noted to him that before anything i like the length of my sideburns and would like them to be kept at that length. The first thing this guy does is hacks my side burn off, to which i replied DID YOU JUST CUT MY SIDE BURN?! He responds, Yes, it was crooked so i fixed it by hacking an INCH off! And He didn’t apologize for hacking my side burn off. I had my suspicion about him when i stepped in, I never trust a person to cut my hair if they themselves lack the have a crap haircut.

Just got my hair cut at this location earlier today. I’m only in town for a day or so and this was my only chance to get a cut before returning to work.
I work with kids, and hair pulling can be an issue, so shortness of hair is a virtue.
These guys have a great space and are really attentive to detail.
This was the most precise cut I’ve ever had and at a very reasonable price.
Only downside is cash or check only!

Today was the second time I’ve taken my two young sons to American Barber. Each time I have been extremely impressed with both cuts, and the patience of the barbers themselves. I will be returning here with them each time they need a cut, and will make a point to drive here from Epsom for this experience. They are polite, funny and attentive to detail. Our older son, at 3, asks to go and get his hair cut here, and really enjoys his time in the chair. $ 13 for a kid’s cut, very reasonable and worth every penny. You will not be disappointed, this is a high quality place.
