Is this the same A & Noi that was in downtown Concord and closed. Hope so because I was wondering what happened to them. They are great people and cook wonderful food. I will check this out.

A & Noi’s is an awesome place to eat at. A small fusion restaurant owned by A and Noi, a couple who opened their doors no more than a decade ago. They have some of the tastiest flavours you will find anywhere. They make a tasty seafood chowder meal that is to die for. But if seafood isn’t what’s on your plate then order their delicious Buffalo Burger. But please take advantage of their East and West cuisine. It’s as much a bistro than the french quarter restaurant down the street. They also have oysters on a half shell and and a great wine selection, that they are more than happy to suggest some to go with your meal. The owners are great people and will remember you every time you go. They’re open late and are always welcoming to new guests who come to their bistro. And if you go tell them I sent you… Enjoy!

Oh my god!!! I can’t believe they really closed! I just moved from there a year ago, and we always went there for dinner. I loved the owners because they were always such gracious hosts. They told me the lease was being raised and wouldn’t be cost effective to stay, but we all hoped for the best for them. I am so sad that another such wonderful place wasn’t able to stay open. Although, I am glad their grandkids will get to see them more now! This place was wonderful! I’ll miss Mama Noi and A, and of course, the culinary delights. Worth the money spent.

So me and my girlfriend wanted to take her cousin and her boyfriend out to our favorite restaurant. A & Noi has the best tasting and best looking cuisines known to man. On top of that, their warm customer service is far too superior of any other restaurant out there. We were so excited to share this experience with them until we drove into the parking lot… Lotus Garden??? I’m not sure if that was the name because my eyes couldn’t see through the tears, but that’s not the point. I can’t believe they closed down. If the owners read this, I WILLGIVEYOUONEMORESTARIFYOUJUSTCOMEBACK!!!

I was also sad to hear that this place is closed for good. I was told the owners wanted to spend more time with their grandkids. Lucky kids… I wish my grandparents cooked like theirs! Like we need another Chinese place around here?! A & Noi was definitely one of a kind and such a gem in this area. Their food and service was excellent. The couple that ran the place were so nice. I’m going to miss that lotus root dessert so much. All their desserts were wonderful too. I too really hope they re-open again.

I was just informed this restaurant is closed and is turning in a Chinese place. I am very upset over this. This is my very favorite east bay restaurant! I just walked away from their front(the place is being remodeled) shaking my head and just about crying.

I LOVE this restaurant. The staff is incredibly nice and you can tell they put their heart and soul into every dish. Sure, the décor is not quite there, but you’ll be staring at the food, not the stuff on the walls. Best stuff I’ve had there: warm spinach salad, Napoleon, seared tuna, Pad Thai. Go go go!!!

Had lunch here. This is not really a Fusion restaurant, but more of 2 cuisines in the same restaurant. There is little if any exotic mixing of inventive east-west dishes, at least not for lunch; You have the main menu, mostly Italian inspired, and the Thai menu is on a separate menu completely. «Mama» Noi comes around and shows you the specials in pre-made sample plates. She is nice, warm and friendly. Although I felt like Thai food, looking at the prices, it seemed the continental food was a better choice. I could have ordered a Thai appetizer and main dish, but that would have been pushing $ 20 for the combo. For that price, I could go with the Italian. I had the soup of the day, butternut squash in a cup($ 3.50) and the Gemelli Pasta, with scallops, shrimp, sun dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, arugula and remoulade($ 14.95). The soup was warm, but I know it is hard to heat up that type of soup without burning it over time. My friend makes a better, sweeter version to be honest. The pasta was done well, al dente, with a nice combination of flavors and colors. Still, I guess I would have been happier with Thai, but $ 20 for a Thai lunch seems a bit high to me. I think I would have enjoyed the Italian food more for dinner, with a nice glass of wine. They do have quite a few selections on their wine list. Also, the building is an older cement block construction, and if you sit near the 2 doors, it will be cold and drafty, not cozy. Myself and the other couple in my area all kept our jackets on throughout. I look forward to trying this place again for dinner, or for the Thai dishes.

This was a nice little anomaly in Concord, otherwise a deadzone for higher end food. It’s not exactly fusion(what I expected at first)… there are distinct sections with Thai food and european selections. I had the Thai imperial rolls, a warm pistachio-crusted goat cheese salad with arugula and lavender vinaigrette(yum), and green chicken curry. I enjoyed all of my food a lot, although the curry was nothing unique. The atmosphere is pretty casual and friendly… you have fancy food and heading-toward-fine-dining service(as in, they came and changed our plates like 3 times) and yet the Diet Coke logo on the soda machine is blaring at you on the way in. I don’t mind this at all. My friends didn’t seem to enjoy their food as much, but then again… one guy was kind of weirded out by how raw the seared tuna was. Heh. When Noi realized how little the guy had eaten of the dish, she came by to see if anything was wrong. I get the feeling that the people who work here are really passionate about the food.

My family has been going to this restaurant for years and years. This is quite possibly Concord’s little known best«gem» of delicious dining. If you ever get the chance to talk with Ricardo, you will be dazzled with his passion for food as well as for textures and tastes and smells and the intricate blending of these senses to create something truly magnificent. If you have yet to experience A & Noi Cuisine, you are indubitably missing out and should make haste to pay a visit as soon as possible.

I wanted to try something different from the usual — so when fiancé and I FINALLY went for a night out, we tried to see what we can find in our area. After reading Unilocal reviews, I thought this would be a great place to eat. .. .. . Looks really small /dark from the outside — and when you come in, it’s like«What are they trying to do with this place?» Their a whole bunch of small asian figurines(pigs, roosters, etc) on the ledge As soon as we were seated, we were offered drinks — then our waiter came in with sample dishes to show us how their«today’s special» looks like — a nice touch, if you ask me. I ordered salmon — but no salmon was given. Salmon is only fish I can eat — everything else is just way to fishy.. I was given something else =(I was so hungry that I didn’t want to complain, but I only ended up eating ¼ of my plate. Fiancé got steak — he especially loved the mushrooms on it. Dessert: We ordered their crème brûlée — I thought it was cool w/banana, but when I started eating it, it was a bit TOO chilled.. . and it wasn’t the melt in your mouth feeling I was hoping for. All in all — 4 stars, but probably wont ever go here again.

One of my favorite dining spots in the Bay Area. The food is considered fusion, hence the name of the restaurant. It is a blend of Thai and Italian, and a little bit of everything else. I used to be a regular there when I lived in Concord. And I still go there whenever I get a chance to be in the neighborhood. So far, everything I tried on the menu is great… and the price is very reasonable too! So don’t let its nondescript exterior and casual interior fool you. The taste of its wonderful dishes and the friendliness of everyone there, including the chef(if you want to personally thank him for his magic touch) are what make this place a dining experience worth going back time and again!

We have been to A & Noi several times and always have a wonderful dining experience. From the outside it’s not very impressive but once you taste the food you quickly forget your surroundings. They have very helpful wait staff and they always make wonderful suggestions on wine and food choices. The food is always delicious.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had! We went based on the great reviews we saw here, and we weren’t disappointed. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are in Thailand, the service is great, and the food was outstanding. The Thom-Ka soup was superb. I usually find that Thai soups are good but overpowering… this one wasn’t. It was the perfect blend of coconut and broth with a hint of spiciness. The shrimp I had with mine was the perfect addition. We had a stir-fry with yellow bean sauce, eggplant and sweet basil, and it was perfectly done(I don’t remember the name…). It’s hard to find… but it’s directly across from the park behind a Starbucks and a Chinese restaurant. It’s on of those hidden gems… you will love it.

A & Noi is an anomoly. It is a really high-cuisine place hiding in a rather low key, low budget environment directly across the street from Todos Santos Square. It is located on the ground floor(in the back) of a 2-story building across the street from B of A. Other tenants include Starbucks(on the corner), a lack luster Chinese restaurant, a Japanese sushi place and a very good Italian restaurant, Luna. A is the husband and Noi is the wife. They have a young chef with Mediterranean roots. They are an excellent team. A takes care of the dining room and Noi oversees everything. They are of Thai origin and they have a Thai menu as well as their Western menu. They use the freshest of local ingredients and know how to prepare and serve it. Their fresh fish of the day is always outstanding. Noi will bring tomatoes and other produce from her own garden at home for use in salads and dishes on the menu. I organize monthly dinners for a group of retired Seniors on a monthly basis. This is the only place that we have repeated 3 times over the last 2 years! This was done by popular demand. Oh yeah, did I mention that their prices are well below market fare for this level of quality? Yup! So this makes it a real bargain. And, A & Noi are the most gracious hosts you will ever find, anywhere. I believe it is in the Thai ethnic genes! I almost hate to write this for fear of having too many folks«discover» this place that would make it harder for us to get in without advance reservations. Jim

At first glance, this place doesn’t inspire confidence. Located on the ground floor of a 2-story office building, one just sees a door with a menu. Step inside A & Noi, however, and find yourself served my an amazingly friendly staff and have food prepared by an incredibly talented chef. My mouth waters recalling the food I ate there. The prices are quite reasonable and I highly recommend you go there soon, because once word of mouth seriously kicks in and this restaurant decides to hire an interior designer(the décor is only so-so) and someone to market them, they’re going to blow into the stratosphere and I anticipate they’ll quickly change setting and probably jack up their prices. That of course, is just me speculating… We started with appetizers including seared duck foie gras and warm goat cheese salad. Both of these were absolutely perfect. The seared foie gras literally melted on your tongue, while the salad proved a tangy refreshing courseWe then finished with a beautiful Oso Bucco with the meat, juicy and falling off the bone. Check out A&Noi… you will not be disappointed!
