Dude this place was a breeze (If you MAKE AN APPOINTMENT). I was in and out in one hour. I got to the DMV early, and came PREPARED. I’m from Minnesota, had to pass the written test, and so I passed on the first try. Everyone was so nice to me, professional, and patient. FIVE STARS BABY :)

I had an appointment. I spent a total of 1 ½ hours there. I had to get my car retitled and all of the employees I came across (3 total) were friendly and expeditious enough. I’m glad I had an appointment. The only issue was parking. I had to park on the street.

I had to get my license replaced, so I made an appointment and the Compton DMV was the location that could see me the soonest. I made an appointment for 8:40 in the morning. I arrived at 8:27. There was literally no one in the appointment line. The other line was outside the door and around the building. I was out of there by 8:41. It was a great experience, staff was very courteous, I got in and out and got to hit the rest of the day without a major time loss. I would recommend it as long as you make an early morning appointment. I made an appointment at the Long Beach DMV a few months earlier and I was there for two hours.

These people are so Unprofessional. On today’s visit I seen people with just simple questions and a lady on window 7 seem to be just sitting there not doing anything so I notice how people passing by would just ask her a simple question literally just sitting doing nothing refuse to even look at them and help? I heard them say «I don’t speak Spanish» more than 4xs so why not hire more bilingual people… On top of it all like every time I come here security team are always so friendly and helpful they were the ones helping people out… The people working here always seem so mad at the world, not a welcoming place at all. So if you guys have any questions or need help trust me ask a security near by bcus people in the front working or window people will turn you down. I hope they really fix the whole communicating and being able to speak more than one language part.

Why did I come here??? Cause it was off the 91 freeway and everything with the word «Compton» in it isn’t always bad, but this right here!!! earned me the «Whatchu Dun Gotcho Ass Into Now» Award. Being in here was a cross between being in a Mental Hospital, The County Building and La County Jail. Everything you can imagine. Im not sure why the air conditioner is off, but you gotta be kidding me (Body Odors). The guy at the counter looks at my form and ask what is this for??? I’m like what does it say at the top there… In my mind I’m thinking did he just lose his eye sight after that last customer cause his ass acting special. I left up outta there so dayum fast. I can’t come back here.

Up front: I came here to renew my California ID card. So my experience will be a bit different from folks doing drivers license business. Use the restroom in your home before coming here. If ya gotta go, make sure your shoe laces are tied and pick up your pants unless you don’t mind urine stains… I presume the gals restroom is in better shape.
OK, now that we that out of the way I arrived at about 7:15 AM Friday morning. The line was about 20 people deep. By the time it was 7:50 AM the line was three time longer and growing! The security guard (Hispanic gentleman with thin mustache+goatee and glasses) came around earlier with different requested forms to fill out. That was very helpful!
I did NOT use an appointment.
Doors opened at 8: AM and:
1– Got my ticket and sat down.
2– Got called to window 13.
3– Went to get my mug shot.
4– I was OUT of there by 8:20 AM!
Love it!

Best DMV experience thus far. I was nervous reading these reviews but it wasn’t that bad. The guy on window 22 was nice. The line was a bit confusing because it gets crowed and you can’t find the end or beginning of it. Have to ask people standing there to find out.
Oh yea. I went for the behind the wheel test and paased! I got the Asian instructor she wasn’t as bad as some people on here said. Very nice lady.
The wait time in the car sucked balls though. I advice you to use your phone to listen to music and sing along so you don’t feel as nervous.

Lines are of course always long. Attitude of employees? Well if your a person with NO common sense then attitudes are definitely understandable. The place is of course very disgusting including bathrooms and water fountain. The best thing about this DMV is the self serve kiosk. The line is never that long and the only thing that holds it up from moving fast is of course once again people with no common sense even if they are using the kiosk in their own language, wow pretty pathetic, but it’s the world we live in.

Always always ALWAYS have a problem here. An employee actually made me wait as she took her 20minute break just to come back and tell me she cant help me. Couldn’t you have told me that before your break? Waste of time.

Don’t ever ever ever walk into this place without an appointment. You will wait minimum half a day to get called. I really feel like all the DMVs need some type of system upgrade. Yes they do have online services but that isn’t enough. Three stars because at least the lady that helped me was really nice!

Rude workers waited over 2 hours for my drivers license replacement which I expected coming in on a Monday would be nice if the workers weren’t always so darn rude considering how long you have to wait to be seen

I came to this DMV because Bellflowers DMV line was 4x longer. The wait time here was actually quick. But do beware of the a man that works with the front desk, he bring people front the back that are not even in line to the front and cuts everybody, most likely his owe family or friends. He did it twice while I was standing there. But over all like all DMV, No where to sit, when u do, u are staring at a person ass less then 3Ft away from your face trying to do there paper work. Also bathrooms are crap beware.

I completely understand that the Dmv is never a fun place and it definitely requires patients, but my god the employers here are the worst!
So I’m going to do this based on today’s visit. I’ve been here about three times, 4 with today, and all my previous visits had been fine, but today was seriously the worst.
I needed to go in to turn in some documents, but I didn’t have an app so I knew I had to wait. I made sure I went as early as possible. I was there by 7:25 am and didn’t get called til 9:50.
When it was finally my turn the lady that was suppose to «help» me was so rude! (Big lady in Box 14) I was trying to be polite as possible and she just ignored me. She kept talking to her coworker instead of helping me out. She had such a shitty attitude that it totally messed up my day. When I would ask her something all she would say was «that’s not my problem» Like cmon lady this your job atleast pretend to be happy! She was completely useless and this visit was a waste of my time! I literally left the place in tears because I was just irritated!
These people are so unprofessional! They should really consider firing some people! Unfortunately, it wasn’t just me complaining about an employer.
I suggest you guys make an app somewhere else!

Even with an apointmentyou wait hours. Not to mention every clerk in this office looks like they have an attitude and are so rude. looks like the government went to the projects and just hired ANYBODY. Cuz these people are so ghetto
