I have visited many public libraries. Never, ever have I experienced one where loud obnoxious behavior is allowed, kids jumping on furnuture, people talking on cell phones. Once at a library in Edgartown, MA, I was sternly warned that I would have to leave if I couldn’t stop laughing(which I was in my arm, like a containing a sneeze) OK, I was amused by my sister who had a long piece of toilet tissue trailing behind her. It appears that the homeless citizens come in to charge their cellphones, use the restrooms or to get a little rest. I got up to get a a 2 pg. Doc from printer, 10 feet away & when I returned the mouse & pad were gone. :) This is the worst public library I have experienced !!!

This review is mainly for their study rooms. Similar to my last review on a public library. I also came to this public library to use the group study room. Unfortunately, they only have 2 of them. But at least its a REAL study room and not a phone-booth like the Lynwood location. For the study rooms/conference rooms, you do need to sign-in at the service counter in order to use them(they are locked). You cannot reserve the study rooms in advance over the phone, its a first-come-first-serve basis. Time limitations on the study rooms is 1 hour, if nobody is waiting after you then you may continue to use it. The reason for 2 stars 1) Lack of study rooms: seriously, only two… You should at least have 3 – 4. 2) Dirty Restroom: the restroom is gross… similar to the Lynwood Library, you have to ask the Librarians to buzz you in(otherwise its locked). The restroom has been kept in poor condition, every time I go in (2 – 3 occasions) there’s murky/dark puddles of water on the floor and the inside smells bad! 3) limited library hours: they are closed on monday, friday, and sundays. Saturday they open early, but also close early. 4) the surrounding area is a bit ghetto and old… Pros for this place: 1) staffs seems to be friendly 2) parking is easy: there’s a underground parking structure. Small, but usually this place isn’t crowded. Haven’t had a hard time finding parking yet. 3) Popeye’s fried chicken is right across the street !!(and everybody loves fried chicken, right?)
