Waited over 30 minutes for someone to come and take my order. Had to get my own menu. Complete mess. Food is ok.

Salmon had a funny taste not in a good way(spicy salmon roll) also I’m always one to say more is better but in this case too much salmon packed in couldn’t enjoy the other flavors. Super friendly service though :/might try again.

While on the voyage to my home town, I was pretty excited to see a sushi place had popped up just a few miles away from my family’s house. My partner and I made a mental note to drive back for dinner. The inside of the restaurant felt cheap, but the sushi was not, that would have been fine because good sushi trumps all. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the sushi was anything special. Most of the rolls sounded pretty bizarre. I had a hard time choosing something I thought I would like. My partner’s rolls came out wrong. One had lettuce and the other had mayo when they shouldn’t have. The single server/host came over, because he could tell we were confused, they didn’t acknowledge the mistakes to us, but walked a few feet over to the sushi bar and told the employee who made the roll that there isn’t supposed to be lettuce on it and then they walked back to the host stand. He even watched my partner pick out all of the lettuce which caused his roll to fall apart, but did nothing about it. When you’re paying that much for a meal, you expect it to be right or corrected. Sad sauce.

–didn’t give change after transaction… intentionally. –gave wrong food and wrong spice lvl on each visit. Seriously every time it’s been wrong(3 times, won’t be a 4th). –had attitude when I pointed out I was given wrong order, like I did something wrong. I wanted to like them, but it’s too much work on my part and not enough on theirs. I’m done with Tokyo sushi.

Sushi rolls were big and delicious and served with free hot tea. Price was more than going to One World Market in novi but they were what was nearby when leaving the beach. Go to one world if you want to try something better.

Awful Thai food. Ordered pineapple fried rice with chicken. Rice was swimming in oil with uncooked stringy onions, no cashews, no chicken. Got spring rolls that were also soaked in oil. The area is limited on Asian food selections but it’s better to go without than eat just plain bad food.

Best sushi I have EVER had. I’ve been eating it for 20 years… But apparently I’ve been eating it from the wrong place! Did a carry out with coworkers today. Their Pad Thai, Yaki Soba, dumplings, etc were likewise excellent!

I get take out here on desperate occasion and while it is not bad, it is also not the best. A negative experience I have had here is the woman that bagged my food was taking sunflower seeds out from her mouth. Big time health violation however I was hungry and she only touched my bag. I eat with chopsticks and I give it 3 stars because it has never made me sick and I was in there once during a health inspection and they passed. Another added bouns… But if you want the best Thai in Michigan go to the Rice Paddy in Marquette.

Watch for bones in the sushi from here! They also didn’t give any wasabi or ginger with our sushi take out. Our Las Vegas roll was over cooked and cold. I am very disappointed with Tokyo sushi.

We eat at of get carry out form Tokyo Sushi almost every week. It is a small cozy strip mall restaurant with a very friendly staff. I can really only rate the sushi, as this is mostly what we get from here. We have gotten the Pad Thai a few times and it is good as well. The sushi rolls are consistently good and the service is pretty quick. They have a standard menu and add a few different rolls just often enough to keep it interesting. When you order the spicy tuna, be assured that it is spicy. My wife says a little too spicy, but I say it is just right! As with most sushi, the price is more than your average carry out dinner, but it is worth it. Your choices for sushi are limited this far up in Commerce Township, but this is an excellent option.

Bad service, took 30 min longer then they told me it would take for 2 rolls. Decent sushi, I would say Kroger definitely has better sushi.

I am happy to report that Tokeyo Sushi has improved on their dishes. I have gone back and ordered our usual dishes and the sauces are now back to where they should be according to thickness and flavor. I have been back half a dozen times and I am satisfied with the dishes we have ordered.

The sushi is better at Kroger up the street and it’s less expensive. Thai food is not very good the last time we ate here about a week ago the noodles tasted like they were sitting around all day.

The sushi was okay, but not great. I also tried the Thai food here as well, and it is terrible. They should probably just stick to making Japanese and Sushi. Overall, I wasn’t impressed. I thought the prices were a bit too high as well for what you get.

Good food. Other stuff, not so much. We walked in with a Living Social deal so I imagine they’ve had it with poor tips and money-losing promotions. Service was extremely slow. Somehow, someone ordered an extra sushi roll for us — don’t know if it was the restaurant trying to recoup losses on a promotion or someone ticking on the sheet and not erasing it. Our fault as well for not noticing but we were hungry! Sushi was great. Good shrimp tempura roll. I liked the Hyundai roll, although it was supposed to have kimchee in it, I didn’t get that spicy! hit from it. Not a fan of soft drinks from the can. Why am I paying $ 1.50 when you are sitting next to the cooler with the cans in it? I can serve myself. Might go back, who knows.

I was really looking forward to trying this place with the great views. After my experience at Tokyo Sushi, I had to put in my two cents. Bottom Line: Don’t Bother They have a good selection on the menu, but the sushi and sashimi prices were outrageous! $ 20 for 10 pieces in the small sashimi combo. This place was WAYOVERPRICED for a stipmall sushi joint with three tables. It looked more like a take out place than dine in. I asked a friend to meet me there for lunch. We stayed to make the best of it and tried not to spend $ 40 each for lunch in a stripmall. I resigned to order Sashimi appetizer @ $ 8 for 6 pieces, I was expecting to at least get a good taste of sashimi before the Thai food. Two of the 6 pieces was the sweet egg custard stuff. That is so annoying, but more so was that we got our meals before the appetizers. Then the waitress came back to say the cook forgot my friend’s soup appetizer. The Thai food was far from outstanding and barely edible. My friend had to pick the chicken out of the mush of vegetables just to eat something. Their version of Thai basil brown sauce was a watery brown puddle with floating oil. The soup, that arrived late, was simply gross. Oil floating on a clear brown broth. I guess this place doesn’t use coconut milk in their Thai food and doesn’t understand how to use basil. I was prepared for the slow service, and the waitress was very nice, but we told her we would like our food medium and asked if medium was hot enough to make your nose run. I know now that«Oh yes» is a standard response to any question. Medium spice was the equivilant heat to a bratwurst. The two bites of salmon and tuna from the appetizer was pretty good. Still wound up spending $ 20. Guess I should have ordered the small sashimi combo and had a sandwich when I got home. Would probably have been much less disappointed.

Sometimes you don’t know whether to laugh or cry & such was my adventure with Tokyo Sushi in commerce Twp. By Default when i go to a new place i kind of start off expecting a 3 star review. Well we went to Tokyo Sushi you might be surprised to learn to eat Sushi… But upon entering the place which was empty except for a very happy smiley Thai lady we were asked«what you want to eat?». Well we hadn’t sat down or got a menu yet so we were a bit non-plussed but before i could formulate a response we were told«got no Sushi yet, but can cook you Thai food» Until that second i didn’t know they had Thai Food but what the heck i didn’t need my arm twisting, but still I’m now thinking 2 star. We sat down & after looking thru the extensive menu we ordered seafood crazy noodles which was listed as shrimp, scallop, squid with egg noodles also we ordered Pad Ped a spicy red curry with chicken cooked together with Green peppers Eggplant & Onions. Soon we heard the noise of cooking emanating form the back Kitchen. A Gentleman & his young daughter entered, sat at the sushi counter & proceeded to fill out a sushi card, they Waited & waited & Waited. Finally after about 10 mins he took his daughter to the toilet & at that moment the waitress came out & said to us, sorry for seafood noodle we don’t have Scallops & We don’t have Squid… Now this was officially 1 star. OK we said Hunger pangs winning the day. Back to the kitchen & a Couple of minutes later the first dish arrived. Seafood Crazy Noodles, minus Scallops & Squid & from what we could see & Taste minus Egg Noodles & Replaced with Rice Noodles, just after everyone disappeared into the kitchen again the man & his daughter emerged from the toilet. i Could see him never getting served here. We are now in Zero Stars territory. But then a strange thing happened. Dang the food was really good, tasty noodles, fresh scallions, bean sprouts,(Fresh cut Chile in fish sauce was provided for the side). Back to 1 star. Then My Red Curry with Chicken, Green Peppers, Onions & Eggplant arrived & low & behold also very very good. We shared both meals & i would say after Thai Taste in Troy this was the best Thai food i have eaten in Michigan. Much Better than Novi Siam Spicy the other day. now they are up to 2 star. Finally the patient gentleman & his daughter were served & the whole Thai Family, Father, mother, auntie & Daughter were serving, laughing & Super friendly. For this they cannot be less than 3 Star. At the end of the day food is everything & Even though we went for Sushi. Even though everything was not perfect. The food was very good & put me on a beach in Krabi, the sun setting over the Andaman sea & a Few Ice Cold Chang beers &this food well i’d be in heaven. Sadly i fully expect this place to be closed in 6 months. Now i know Tokyo Sushi is a chain & i cant promise good Thai food at all of them, but in Commerce Twp, don’t bother about the Sushi. come for the Thai!!!

As a local chain, you can expect quality & affordability, and hospitality all rolled into one yummy maki roll. I always went to the one in Auburn Hills, where the atmosphere reminded me of a down-home sushi bar/grill in Japan [yes I lived in Tokyo for 6 months], without being pretentious or kitschy. So when Tokyo Sushi opened up in Commerce near my BF’s we had to go. Needless to say, it’s become a favorite spot, again. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated their veggies rolls, the Thai menu, and the fact that they don’t skimp on avocados!
