We’ve been coming to this place for at least 25 years. When out of towners came in and my in laws lived in Huntington we’d all meet here for some damn good deli. Just to point out, Pastrami N Friends makes a killer Matzoh ball soup. Flavorful and the matzoh balls aren’t too dense, the soup is just crazy good. I met my wife for dinner here the other night. She hasn’t had a good stuffed cabbage in a long time and you don’t have to twist my arm. We sit down and our nice waitress brings out a bowl of pickles and a bowl of cole slaw. «Anything to drink?» Now you can be watching what you eat but watching what you drink? Stop it. A round of Dr. Browns please, one black cherry soda and one diet BC soda thankyouverymuch. I tell this story and people are in shock. When I joined the military after high school, I never in my life had pastrami. I was a little Italian kid from Brooklyn that ate hot dogs and knishes. the first time I had pastrami was in Norfolk VA. We all ordered from this deli that delivered and this girl ordered a hot pastrami club sandwich with sweet peppers and onions. I asked, when you get it can I have a bite? I bit and one bite I was hooked. Pastrami N Friends has a special located in the middle of the menu, ½ sandwich and ½ soup. Sold! Wifee ordered stuffed cabbage. The soup I said earlier was crazy good. The half sammy? Good but not as good as VA Beach. Oh well, I think I have to make it at home to recreated this masterpiece. Wife’s stuffed cabbage? Wowsa. Cooked perfectly, this was a nice treat. Here’s the issue, everyone has moved away and/or passed away. We don’t have the opportunity to come here with family anymore. We know that Pastrami N Friends fed in laws and grandparents for decades. It’s nice to know its still open and serving great dishes.

Kosher deli. Pastrami, corned beef, brisket. You know what to expect. This is why Jews get heart attacks, but it is so worth it. Gets an extra star for putting bowls of cole slaw and pickles on the table(rather than rationing it out). Also reasonable prices. The Second Ave Deli(NYC) charges $ 18 per sandwich. Here that buys the sandwich and derma, fries, and half a loaf of bread(#99 platter). Will return when I’m in the neighborhood.

Had Pastrami sandwich. Wife had beef and barley soup and frank. We shared derma. Sandwich was skimpy and tasted like supermarket pastrami. Wife like the soup. The Derma was OK. Had much better at Zans. Our take the trip to Pastrami King in Merrick. BTW, was seated quickly, but had to wait 20 minutes for a waitress to come by. Then no service after that. Will not be coming back. Very disappointed.

Ronni & Ernie have kept that place going as long as I can remember. My parents would always take us there once a month as a treat. Now my wife & I bring our kids there at least once a month for dinner cuz we love«Jewish soul food»!

Amazing corned beef sandwich! The meat melts in your mouth, so so tasty. I got half brisket half corned beef on rye, both were great but I preferred the corned beef. We got matzoh ball soup and cole slaw as well. Soup was very good, much better than Ben’s Deli in my opinion. Plus they are open till 9pm on Satudays which is a bonus! We did takeout but there is a Iittle restaurant part.

Not a Katz’s deli, but the only kosher restaurant I know of and they made a decent pastrami sandwich. They pack the meat and for 10 bucks it is worth the price. They use Hebrew national, which is a top quality brand. The place has an antique look which I like, even though it needs an update it still makes me feel like I went back in time 40 years. A cool place, hope they can stay in business…

Oh my God! My husband and I finally got to visit this eatery and boy were we extremely happy! From the friendly service(Paula), the fresh Cole slaw, crispy tasty pickles to the hot pastrami on rye and potato pancakes everything was fantastic! Outrageously delicious. We will be back often for sure. Telling all our friends and families too…

OK, what did I miss. Coming from Brooklyn, I really was seeking out a «real Jewish deli». I read the reviews, this place is near the house, couldn’t wait to go. Coming from the city, 15.00 sandwiches are not shocking, so 12.00 for a pastrami was fine. Actually, not, both my wife and I had a pastrami sandwich, I had a kasha knish, she had a potato knish. The sandwiches were cold cut grade I suspect microwaved, they were dry and disappointing. Knishes tasted like they have been left in the fridge for sometime. Over all, I found the experience disappointing. Guess I will be driving to Brooklyn.

Great food and great service. The kosher pickles were out of this world. And they kept them coming! Then the corn beef sandwich was tender and melted in your mouth. And the Matzah ball soup was excellent. If your looking for a great kosher deli on the island look no further.

Man this place is so good. I love me a good Kosher food joint and this is one of them. Lately I’ve been just hankering and I mean hankering for Stuffed Derma. A couple of weeks ago I got it from Zan’s in Lake Grove(sorry almost forgot to review — coming soon I promise!) and now I got it from Pastrami n Friends. Both serve up pickles and coleslaw when you sit down. Both you can get Dr. Brown’s cream soda. Do it! If you’re not an avid soda drinker and drink water basically 24⁄7 like me just go for it man! Do the DB! Regular. Screw you diet crap! Ha ha. So off to the races… I got Stuffed Derma with gravy on the side. Man I can’t tell you who’s Derma I like better at this point whether it’s PnF or Z. One part of me loves it here because of 2 things. No skin wrapped around it and it’s served with barley. Yes I’ve been on a barley kick and I LOVE it. The other guy’s gravy is much more robust and flavorful if you will. But other guy doesn’t give me barley. So the verdict is still out. I think we’ll have a hung jury for best Derma for now. Oh such is life. Potato Pancakes are definitely the solid winner here as they are crispy yet light on the inside so no belly bombs. Applesauce is nice too. Not too overly sweet which is great. Next time I’ll get the Matzo Ball soup or a knish or a hot dog with my favorite fixings(sauerkraut and spicy brown baby!). My mom swears the brisket here is phenomenal yet the Corned Beef is better in Lake Grove. I think so too cause I tried each piece. She also says rye is better and nicer here too. Music is another nice touch here cause it’s all doo-wop. You know Dion & the Belmonts kinda style. Service is always quick, pleasant and with a bright smile. So will I be back? You bet your bottom dollar that I will. But I think maybe if you dig Kosher food you should come here and check it out.

I don’t have to go to the city anymore for a great kosher deli sandwich! Nope — All I have to do is come here and my craving is satisfied in a very tasty way and I couldn’t be happier to find this place and live relatively close-by! Let’s start with the pickles, since everyone knows a great pickle makes or breaks ya in the world of kosher delis — SCORE!!! Dead on, tons of garlic and tang and YUM!!! Next up, the sandwich itself, GOBS of tender meat that just melted in your mouth!!! and wash it all down with a Dr. Browns soda and VOILA — Kosher Deli craving has been met to full expectations! Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers for pointing great establishment out to me — I’ll be back real soon!

40 years of slinging pastrami, corned beef, hot dogs and other evilly delicious food this place has it down perfect. Cole slaw and pickles on the table, thick meaty sandwiches and pleasant waitresses. Not fancy, tables chairs great food and crunchy hot dogs. You don’t need anything else.

This is so far the best kosher deli I have tried and the prices are right. The décor is nothing fancy and that does not matter because the food is awesome. We had the potato pancakes and a knish. They both came out extremely hot. I think the potato pancakes are the greatest! We split corned beef on rye with Russian dressing and we agreed that it was fabulous. Oh and the pickles were super sour, just the way I like them. The cole slaw was sweet. What a great combination! The other thing besides the food that makes this place stand out was our waitress. She was by far one of the nicest people I have ever met. A big smile, warm and genuine. Answered all of our questions and was always around at the right time. I will be back for sure!

When we get a hankerun’ for something we really want, we use our trusty Unilocal app. Such was the case this past weekend when the mad Russian wanted some pastrami. Next thing you know, we were headed toward Commack. When we entered, we were seated right away and given a delicious bowl of pickles and some home made cole slaw that was to die for. Bonus points for excellent pickles. She had been really craving a straight pastrami sandwich and I like to live dangerously, and hence ordered a pastrami and egg sandwich. Add a little of their spicy mustard and you are in for a treat. The service was good. We were never rushed and made to feel at home. Pastrami N Friends is a great place for something you know you are craving with service to boot. When you have good food you don’t worry about the price, right? Well, not to fear, they won’t break the bank– a very solid and stand-up place. Plenty of parking in the lot or on the side street. Well done! We will be back and… Soon!

Went back to my «roots» this weekend… Well, if my roots are bowls of fresh dill pickles, flavorful cole slaw, mile-high deli meat sandwiches, and a softball-sized matzo ball sitting in a delicate, non salty soup, stuffed derma(just look it up…) and a whole front window full of take-out choices that will add another 10lbs just by looking at them as you waddle out the door! Truthfully, kosher deli wouldn’t normally be my FIRST choice, but I was home for my Yiddeshe mama’s 89th b-day/early Mother’s Day celebration, and she loves this stuff. Yeah, there’s a little sticker shock, but the service is quick and attentive, the variety is great(I think even a ‘misguided’ veggie can find SOMETHING here in this house of MEAT…)the portions are enough for 2+ meals, and though there’s some generic 70’s-80’s pop music playing in the background, I challenge you to not have a random tune from«Fiddler on the Roof» playing in your head as you NOSH here! This may not be your choice for«every day» comfort food, but every once in a while, you’ve just gotta quit being Mr./Ms. «Fancy Pants,» and go for«TRADITION!!!» Oh, and if you plan to use one of their cute little coupons, smarty-pants, bring cash, because SURPRISE, discount on CASHORDERS only, not w/credit cards…
