Hallways reek of some moldy stench. Only working elevator is reminiscent of the Disney ride when it unexpectedly drops and groans under the load of one person. At least the towels were clean.

Stayed here for 4 days with my 2 sons. Very nice hotel and I’m not exaggerating when I say that they had some of the coolest staff I’ve dealt with at any hotel ever. In door pool and the price was exceptional. Will definitely stay again.

We booked this sort of last minute for a friend’s wedding through a 3rd party( ), and when we arrived at the hotel, our dates were wrong. The lady at the desk(Joy) was extremely helpful and understanding and got helped us correct the dates as well as phone . She loves her guests, the indoor pool and grill/patio outside is nice, the king bed was extra comfy and the room smelled great. We had everything we needed at this stay despite the minor bad luck at the beginning. Stay here!

Hotel is great, room was nice, staff was not friendly during reservations, check in and check out. Like what the crap ??? I think they need a raise because a smile should be free… but if they need money to smile than throw it because for some reason it was like going inside a funeral with their depressing azzes. The housekeepers smiled more than the people at the front desk. Oh and please don’t call the hotel because they will put u on hold to only help the ghost in front of them. It don’t be that damn busy there especially not in Columbus, Ms

Now there comes a very pleasant surprise after trying the crappy Holiday Inn with its freaky night club next door(another place, another story, another review, another time: D) I shot for this location perfectly randomly as a desperate attempt to make my business trips a bit less painful the«charming» city(town?) of Columbus, MS … Regardless, my choice went there for the simple fact that it is decently cheap. So my reasoning was: if I’m gonna have another crappy night in a crappy hotel, might as well make it cheap … Makes sense, right? Well what do you know! In a few words: the place is somewhat isolated from the trafficky areas, but off of the highway; facing a small but convenient shopping area(where you can find among other things a very decent steakhouse, a Subway for the subs fan, and an ice-cream place). It is only three stories high and looks pretty regular. But that totally changes inside. Sure the front desk is your regular desk, sure the breakfast area is also a regular area; but the hotel offers a decent amount of information(through fliers) about Columbus in general; it has a very decent spa/jaccuzzi room on the first floor, right next door to a fitness center that is well furnished. The clerk was very courteous and efficient, got my paperwork signed up and room keys promptly. Now there is one small little(shocking) detail that made me think twice when I was going to my room — that earns them one star less of the rating! — … Hum … How shall I say that: their elevator kinda(actually totally) stinks like you have no idea O_O Some indescribable horrendous mix of stinky old feet with rotten garbage double by a during put in the middle … Or something close … Well, needless to say you kinda want to hold your breath in that elevator while thinking«Oh boy … Where am I going? T_T « And then you step out of the elevator, and you’re in another world … Literally stepping on the cushiest carpet you’ve ever stepped on in your life, daring you to play the astronaut on the moon … You know what I mean: jumping in the air in slo mo’ humming some Vangelis track or something close … Hum! Anyways! Now to the room: very pleasant surprise: mine was a king size bed with study area: well furnished, cushy carpet again, nicely organized in a breathy sort of way that puts you at ease in the room. The furniture is nice and smart at the same time in the sense that the bed side tables are very original, for once you don’t have a mirror above the desk so that you don’t have to watch yourself working(… Yeah, I know, I have a thing against mirrors above a desk … duh!) Beyond that, I really liked the fact that the flat screen TV was located on a low wooden piece of furniture that serves as a nice drawer chest where you can actually put a lot of stuffs. The chairs are very comfortable(too comfortable! I was falling asleep at the desk while working … Damn it!) The furniture are completed by a fridge that is perfectly silent and a small microwave oven. The bathroom is somewhat small but again very conveniently organized with all the necessary amenities. Kudos to the AC system also that is a unit on the floor, close to the window, with an electronic dashboard allowing you to set the temperature exactly how you want it – Very silent unit as well! Loved it: o) Breakfast is your regular continental breakfast, although they have a lot of choice on cereals coming in individual boxes: that I liked a lot. The wireless is free and perfectly reliable. I was VPN’ed in my office and I had no trouble transferring files. For 74 $ a night, king size room with desk area … I don’t think you can beat either the price or the quality folks! Suck it up for the elevator of doom and you’ll be just fine ;o)
