I second what others have said about management. This place is poorly run. I ordered a grinder online for lunch on labor day. The order went through online and there were no issues. I showed up to pick up the grinder at 1PM. The store was closed. No big deal, right? Except that my credit card was still charged for the order that was never received… I called the owner and asked for a refund. He refused and said he has no way of refunding me and told me to contact the company that runs the online ordering. This is strange since the charge on my card only lists W.G. Grinders as the beneficiary of the charge.

I come here all the time. I love the food. But the service sucks. My cashier is usually some older bald man. I think he’s in charge which is even worse because his always rude and never smiles. The place is never busy so I can’t ever imagine why he’s always an asshole. I’m rating it a 3 and it’s only a 3 because of the food. If it was biased of service I’d give it a 0.

Don’t bother eating here. How in the world is this place rated 4 stars you’ve got to be joking. Ordered the 10 inch club today and almost threw up! Bland ingredients, the chicken taste like rubbery gum, and don’t get started with that sour dough bread that taste like rat poison. Don’t eat here the food quality has gone downhill BIG time!

The food here has always been fantastic and mostly fresh. I’ve been ordering from here for a few years and I’ve only had one sort of bad experience. I usually go in and get their 10″ sicilian meat and cheese only. The italian is pretty good too, just it has ham instead of sausage. I’ve also ordered their meatball, chicken parm, their stromboli, and a few others. My only bad experience was when a guy(who I’m 99% sure doesn’t work there anymore because I go here all the time and haven’t seen him in a while) recommended the beef and cheddar to me. It was one of the most disgusting sandwich combinations I’ve had. Go here, just don’t get the beef and cheddar.

It’s no wonder all the Grinder’s are closing. There are none close to my home so I was close to this one and decided it would be dinner on a whim. I ordered a large house salad I remembered it had pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes sun mixed greens, they were the first to do this kind of salad in Columbus fast food market. I got it to go and since I live clear on the other side of town you can imagine how disappointed I was when I opened the salad to brown shredded lettuce a couple of slices tomatoes with a bit of red onion. and carrots, less than a ½ teaspoon of gorgonzola cheese. And no pine nuts to be seen. I could live with the rest of it but the brown slimy lettuce turned my stomach. I gave them two stars because when I called the shop Philip said come back next week and get another one. Wow, how kind… The white pizza sub I got was ok. Not what I remembered taste wise. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that as I’m sure my tastes have changed since then too.

I have been eating at this location for almost 10 years. I always order the same dish 10 inch pizza grinder with the pepperoni on the outside of the cheese. I placed the same order with the cashier today. He typed it in and began to tell the employee about my order. The employee making the sandwich immediately rolled his eyes and began to argue that it couldn’t be done.(Older gentleman than the cashier. He may have been bald) I immediately left and will never return to that location. There are to many places to eat for lunch to have to deal with an employee’s nonsense over pepperoni on the cheese.

I used to be obsessed with the cheddar mac, but it’s changed the last few times I’ve been here!:(I used to come here and order just the cheddar mac. There are less cheddar pieces and it’s not as creamy and flavorful as it used to be. I also used to love their chicken salad sub, but the last time I ordered it, I was disappointed. It seemed like there was less chicken and too much bread! There’s so much crunchy bread that it ends up cutting my gums! No bueno.

I’ve only had the buffalo chicken, chicken parm, and hot Italian sub but I’ve loved them all! The service is always polite and speedy. Telephone orders are always ready by the time we get there(we live about 5 – 10 minutes away depending on traffic. We really love this place. Fresh and delicious

Was happily surprised by the taste of my Reuben sandwich. The place could use a deep cleaning, but overall it wasn’t any different from the cleanliness standards of a McDonalds. For the price you can’t beat it.

I’ve been a loyal Grinders customer for years, and found it necessary I leave a review. My typical go to sandwich is and always has been the Spicy Chicken — fully loaded of course. I’m not sure if the recipe has changed recently, but I find the chicken lacking in the spices that I originally fell in love with. Oh well, still a good sandwich. The one item I was very discouraged with was the«famous» Cheddar Mac. The portion was decent but I found it to be very dry and not as creamy as I remembered. Also, the amount of the cheddar cheese cubes has drastically plummeted. I had to savor each morsel of cheese like it was the last one I’d ever see. The chip selection is above average, if that’s your thing. I have also noticed the staff has a high turn over ratio. It seems like every time I go there I meet someone new — which isn’t uncommon in the food industry. The one rock that has always been there is a guy by the name of Kyle. He’s a portly gentleman who knows his sandwiches. Never shy to make a recommendation or a tip to try something new. Sometimes he might appear flustered, but hey, he gets the job done when it counts. He always mans the music selection within the restaurant as well. Some days it’s spot on, but other times it could use a little help. Overall you get what you pay for. Sure, Grinders beats Subway and Quiznos, but I’m not sure if they have what I consistently remember from back in the day. I will be returning and ordering another sandwich and will keep you updated with the progress. Until next time! — RS

This is one of my favorite lunch locations. And as other reviewers have said, Grinder’s is a much better alternative to all the other sub options out there. The sides are better(salad options AND chips AND desserts available? Sign me up). A 6 inch turkey grinder just FEELS like it could feed an army, even though it doesn’t SOUND like a whole lot. It’s always fast, clean, and easy. It’s a solid pick that you should be proud of.

This place doesn’t need anymore reviews. The two(including mine) at the time are fine. One of the best places to get a sub/sandwich in the city. Beats the hell out of Subway, Jersey Mike’s, or Quizno’s. My favorites are the Buffalo Chicken, the Turkey… they have wonderful Cheddar Macaroni Salad… and if you’re feeling guilty, don’t pass up a heath bar cookie. To die for.

After 4 unsucessful stops searching for internet, I was SO happily surprised to find easy wireless access at my neighborhood Grinder’s. I was off and surfing in no time and enjoyed a BLT on whole grain with Cole Slaw and Ice Tea with free refills. I also enjoyed the music playing overhead. It was an online oasis after a frustrating mis-adventure in downtown Columbus. It is so nice when I find a place that speaks my language.
