Now go on, Babe… do that Voodoo you do! Great shop stop for anyone hanging in the Short North and looking for some style with a mega dose of edge. Men and Women alike will find heaps of hot denim, leather, plunging deep v tees, sexy dresses, skinny leggings, skull ‘n crossbones button downs… basically anything you could see Tommy Lee and his younger cohorts sporting on a typical day in Los Angeles. Loved the vibe here with the dark décor, pool tables and sexy staff… very lounge lizard goes to Hollywood. It’s a honest representation of the branding — think Prvcy, William Rast, Hudson, Sky, Splendid, House of Gods, Salvage and a little American Apparel thrown in for good measure — and is clearly working at keeping Columbus sexy and hip as can be. What you’ll also find at Voodoo that doesn’t quite match the groovin’ aesthetic is a boatload of cute and fun Ohio State gear. Shirts, hoodies and the like all sporting cheeky tag lines like«Brutus is my Boyfriend» and«Kiss My Buckeye» greet you as you walk in and may quite viably be the bread and butter of Voodoo in this devout scarlet and gray territory. I know I wanted one! Don’t be swayed by the collegiate repping here if all you’re looking to do is get your cool on. There’s enough swagger in here for you, your heavy rock posse and then some. Good denim. Great staff. Gotta love the Voodoo!

The Short North seems to be in constant flux lately. Norka Futon closes, and in the same space, Voodoo Denim Lounge opens. I saw it was open at the last gallery hop but it was packed! So, CK and I decided to drop in this past Friday and check out the place. We were greeted by Kevin(one of the guys behind the former Dr. Mojoe) who CK and I decided is just one of the most friendly guys in Columbus! He must have talked to us for a good 10 minutes about anything and everything! I was really excited to check out the clothes after being disappointed at National Jean Company down the street. They had a good selection of jeans and t-shirts. Their tees were funny and had some great designs on them… one of which dissolved CK and I into unstoppable giggles! They had an amazing selection of maxi dresses, and their prices, whilst still on the higher side of things, were much more reasonable than National Jean Company. Since this is a new store, I would love to see how their selection progresses over the seasons and how they grow in their selection. I will definitely be back(and hopefully able to afford something!)
