UnKommen

Just like all people, I was nervous about finding a new hair salon when we moved. I decided to call Unkommen due to the reviews. Will was my stylist and has been ever since. Will as well as everyone at Unkommen care about what they do. If I come up with a idea, Will will be honest with me on if it will work or not. I was surprised on how much Will knew on color theory, as that has been my career in the ink industry for 11 years. I highly recommend Will or anyone at Unkommen. I’ve personally never had any other hair salon go above and beyond as much as they do!

When I called to ask if anyone could do razor cuts and texturizing for short thick hair. Will said that he could give me what I wanted, so I scheduled an appointment. I took pictures of the cut that I wanted. He assured me he could give me that cut. He did use a razor to cut my hair but he did not thin it out as much as I requested. He told me I could come back if I didn’t like it. Well I live over 30 minutes away, so why do I want to make another unnecessary trip? Why wouldn’t you cut my hair right the first time? Plus, he did not even bother to shape it around my face. The price he charged is ridiculous for the haircut I got.
The next stylist I went to said that I had gotten a really bad haircut. She said that I had one really short layer underneath the entire top layer. I would not go back here for a another cut. To add insult to injury, he kept telling me he could do a better job on my hair color. I do a great job on my own hair color and I had just recently colored it, so it looked nice. Plus, complete strangers compliment me on my hair color! What would make him think that he give me the color I want when he can’t give me the cut I want?
Why not spend some of that energy on learning how to do a razor cut? Or better still, why not be honest with people and tell them you don’t know how to do a razor cut?
I don’t know about any of the other stylist at this location. This review is for Will.

My husband and I both started seeing Will at UnKommen. He is fantastic! He suggested a new style for my husband that gets lots of compliments — updated and professional, but still fits his personality. I was nervous to switch myself since finding someone in Columbus has been very challenging — I’m so glad I did and now wish I had a long time ago. He gave great suggestions when I knew I wanted something different but just didn’t know what it was. He did lowlights and highlights that look great and gave me a great cut. And he was able to easily show me how to style it at home. I’m so glad I switched to UnKommen — and highly recommend Will for both men and women clients!

Kasey Conner is a great hairstylist! I moved to Columbus 4 years ago and spent 2.5 years bouncing from salon to salon, stylist to stylist. I finally found my stylist in Kasey! She is a real professional who takes pride in the quality of her work. She always listens carefully to what I want and then talks me through how she can adapt my ideas to my actual hair (which is very thick & straight). She explains the techniques she uses while she’s doing them, and she is VERY meticulous. She also gave me a beautiful updo for my wedding. Highly recommended!

Georgina has been cutting my hair for years. She is absolutely the best! Having my curly hair butchered at many a salon, I always know I can trust Georgina to listen to my wishes and give me a good cut that lasts for a couple of months. She is also AWESOME with color and I get lots of compliments on the mixture of highlights and lowlights that she does for me. The atmosphere here is relaxed and upbeat, everyone is super friendly, and the salon is clean and tidy. I highly recommend Unkommen!

Freakin’ awesome! OMG, Kasey is absolutely the best! She heard what I wanted, saw my vision, got her vision, and made it happen. She is phenomenal and extremely talented and personable. The «boss man» (as she calls him) is also very personable and knowledgeable. Great service, great atmosphere, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT if you are in or near Columbus GA!
