A hole in the wall that has been a family favorite for close to a decade. They have nightly specials that are great deals. Everything that we’ve had there is good. I will say that the ja jhang myun is noticeably better than any other place we’ve tried. The soups are also well spiced and flavorful. Plus they are opened very late which is a huge bonus.

The food is good but the service is horrible. the servers don’t care about the customers, always have an attitude and the place is dirty. The food is good however, the service is slow. For example, I ordered a stir fried noodles dish and my friend order a sashimi platter. My came out first and 20 minutes later the sashimi came out when I was 1⁄3 way finished my food. The servers never apologized and or came out to inform us how long the food will take… At the end, we asked to separate the checks because they never asked us. they just assumed everything were in one check. we asked them politely but the lady gave us an attitude like it was my fault that I didn’t tell them to separate the checks.

The food was just ok. The service was horrible. The waitress didn’t even come check to see if everything was ok. Our drinks never got refilled. Will definitely not coming back.

This place was great! It is definitely tucked back in the plaza, so if you think you missed it, keep looking! Service was nice and attentive, they have a good beer/wine/soju selections if you are looking to drink a bit with your delicious meal. They serve the normal banchan(small dishes of kimchi, pickled veggies, seasoned tofu, etc.) that comes standard with most sit-down Korean fare, and theirs are great! We had a spicy pickled daikon that was particularly delightful. My dining partner had the chicken bulgogi, which he said was the perfect level of spice. I went with the kalbi, which was perfectly seasoned, tender, and delicious. Definitely will be back here!

I’ve been here a couple of times and they’ve been pretty busy. The service is a bit weird, but the food is good. I like the bulgogi, the pajeon, and my wife loves the jajangmyeon. I like all the pickled side dishes. I don’t know what most of them are, but they are nice bursts of flavor to complement the main entrees.

Pretty good Korean food. Though knocking off a star for inconsistent service and kinda shabby décor. Most recently we were seated in a corner that had some kind of gross splatters all over the wall, the seat had frayed, etc. Ordered hot tea to drink and were told it was not quite ready yet, so «how about just hot water». Huh??? We said we’d wait until it was ready, so the waitress comes back with tea a few minutes later and says«it’s kind if weak, I hope that’s OK». Huh? The food is not bad though, and they seem to have pretty good daily specials, so maybe we’ll just do takeout next time.

Best kept secret! I kid you not! The sushi was the best surprise. Really fresh really good taste and texture. They serve an entire selection of appetizers that will make you feel like you are in a party. The potatoes were my favorite. The cod soup was smelly, but the taste was nice and spicy. The fried chicken was the best I ever had: super tender inside, well cooked and juicy inside and crunchy on the outside. The fried rice and the white rice were nicely cooked. Overall it was a nice experience and I will definitely be back. They also have specials some nights of the week and that is an extra plus! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :)

Korean run establishment with a huge menus of Korean goodies. The staff were friendly and pretty helpful. We had the seafood pancake and the galbi(bbq short ribs) to share, along with your assortment of Korean side dishes that come with every meal. The pancake and side dishes were pretty good, but I was disappointed with the galbi. They didn’t give you very much and the beef looked sad… it was glistening or sizzling or calling my name as it often does… In fact, it was kinda cold and reminded me of the galbi I have as leftovers the day before. It was really disappointing. I don’t think it was a $ 40 meal at all…

I LOVE an impromptu, internet found dinner! This is such a hidden gem… they are a Korean restaurant that has a full menu — including sushi — until 2AM —what?! We ordered Friend J Roll(shrimp tempura, cream cheese, and avocado), Lovely L Roll(crab, cream cheese, and Tuna — deep fried), Dolsot bibimbap, and Yakisoba. The rolls were excellent — to be compared to a much higher end restaurant. The tempera used was perfect… it wasn’t too thick leaving grease dripping down your chin, but enough to all full flavor… I use shrimp tempera rolls to judge a restaurant, but I would have to say that the Lovely L Roll may have to be my new favorite. My bibimbap with banchan was really good, but the rolls were SO good and SO filling that next time I will get a light appetizer and stick with rolls as my main meal. The rice was a little bit gummy and didn’t crisp up easily, but still flavorful — not the best I have ever had. The Yakisoba was excellent as well — very satisfying. They have several offerings for vegetarians which is a PLUS! And the service is great. they are very patient with you as you narrow down your options from the extensive menu. They only complaint that I have is that their soft drinks are from cans — this isn’t an actual issue, but I tend to prefer fountain drinks. This is definitely a revisit!

I would give this place 1 star except they have a daily special for $ 8, which is pretty cheap for a Korean restaurant. This place wouldn’t be a first choice, but I’d be at least willing to give it another try for that special(specifically for the bibimbap) Otherwise… Came on a Friday, got the seafood tofu soup. It was utter disappointment and the worst I’ve ever had. Out of our group of 5, 4 people got it, and all 4 soups were very sub-par. None of the broths were flavored. Mine had barely any seasoning, my gf didn’t even finish hers nor want to take it home. Instead of a red/orange broth, all of ours were pretty clear, mine probably being the most colored. No spice, no saltiness, etc. In addition, the service was suuuuper slow and lacking. We got tea initially, and had all finished them before our food came out. We were all trying to get a waitress to come over to ask for refills, but they never came. During the meal, no one came over to see if we needed anything. Not just our teas, but the side dishes were sitting empty for a while and we had tried to get their attention multiple times for refills. It didn’t just feel like they were oblivious to us, it felt like they straight up ignored us.

My friend took me to this restaurant. I actually am not a fan of Korean food, but to be fair their food was much better than I thought, especially the Bibimbap tasted good. The food was a little bit expensive but they offered more than enough in one plate which could be shared by 2 people. I reduced two stars for the service.

When you are very hungry at midnight, Silla is the place to go! I get used to hanging out with friends at late night in my hometown, but there are no many restaurants open late(pubs are not restaurants, right?). I particularly like its location: walk inside a narrow ally, then you find the entry :)

I love this place! One of the best Korean restaurants in Columbus and they have great weekly special for only $ 7.95! Dol Sot Bibimbap is the best! They close late every night so great for late night cravings! If you want something healthier after a long night, come to Silla! Healthy food and so tasty! Food is great and such a friendly staff! The owners are the sweetest too!

We went yesterday for my birthday. The waitress we got was obviously over whelmed. The one the people next to us got was attentive and friendly. Which we could have used because we could have used some more information on ordering. Theres big pots of food that are rather pricey but most people share them so i guess that works out. We wanted to try a few things so we didn’t order that way. We tried beef with vermicelli and onions. Which was very good. A spicy beef soup which my fiancé loved. And i had the bibimbap the one in the hot bowl. I already have had bibibop. And i know thats probably not as authentic. But i like it better. The one i had here didn’t have as much flavor. But i think thats personal taste. All of the sides are delicious. I will for sure come back. Next time i will know what i’m ordering before i come in.

This is such a cool little place tucked away in a not-so-cool strip mall off Henderson Road. I have maybe passed by this spot to check out other restaurants a thousand times, so when I saw on here where it was, I was a bit surprised. The girlfriend and I went on a Thursday night, and it wasn’t all that busy, and we were seated immediately. I love the fact that the entrance to this place is hidden down an alley, and the inside is surprisingly cozy. The menu is rather large, so beware; it can be a little intimidating. Luckily, I had asked for the help of Alicia R, who recommended the Ja Jhang Myun, and I went with that. This is a dish I probably would have skipped over if not for the suggestion, and I’m really glad I gave it a shot, because the black bean paste sauce on it mixed with the pasta and variety of meats(beef, shrimp, etc.) was really tasty. I’m not a big shrimp person, but I actually enjoyed these, so kudos to you Alicia. P. S. That dish comes out PIPINGHOT. One thing I didn’t know was how filling that dish alone would be, and we ended up getting pot stickers and a few sushi rolls. I really loved the pot stickers, and the sushi was pretty great as well. I don’t know if it’s my favorite in town, but I’m just glad it’s there, so my girlfriend can order it, while I try new things! The service was so-so, and it’s probably why I’m only giving it a four star review. After our server brought out the pot stickers, we barely saw her again. Another girl delivered our food, and we were out of drinks for awhile even though they weren’t that busy. Either way, it’s not going to deter me from coming, so it’s all good. If you’re looking for great korean, or just some great food, I highly recommend this place. There’s a large menu to discover, so I’m glad I was able to begin making my way through it. I’ll definitely try to make it back often.

The food is always good. But the service is terrible this time. The server was impatient and offensive. What made me out of mind is that, I wrote lower tips than normal times because of poor service. They charged more than what I’ve wrote down!!! So horrible!!!

Very good, I’ve been here twice. It may seem petty but I always look forward to their tea. The small dish samplers are wonderful! I always go for extra of the potatoes. I have had the Bipmbap special which was delicious and enough for two meals. I have also had the Udon noodles, also fantastic. The restaurant entrance is a bit hard to find but once inside it is just the right lighting, not too bright or dim. It is comfortable and well spaced. I would certainly reccomend this to friends.

Love this place for lunch. Great specials and delicious Korean food. My go-to meals are the jjajungmyun, ddubokki(LOVE how they add the ramen noodles and fishcake), bulgogi, and sundubu(preferably all at once to share… or not). The only thing is, it’s tricky to find. The entrance is not located at the front. Park in the main lot, and walk down the little corridor where you see the sign.

The servers were so nice and gave us tons of the potatoes we liked and the meal was delicious and we got a great bday ice cream treat! The only thing that was a little off was the TVs because they were very staticky but nobody really watches it anyway! All I’m all this was a great place and I would recommend this to many people!

I spent about two months scrounging Columbus for a good Korean restaurant, and while this place doesn’t even begin to compare with LA’s Koreatown, it’s probably the best Korean place you’ll find in Columbus. I usually come here for their $ 8 dolsot bibimbap special on Wednesday nights. Normally, it’s $ 13, but that portion is way too much for a single meal, and the smaller size of the $ 8 special is just perfect for me. The bibimbap also actually came out sizzling hot, although I wish the pot were slightly hotter so that it could properly crisp the rice at the bottom of the pot. I love crispy rice, and while this place doesn’t get it perfect, they do a good enough job. Plus, they’re very generous with their side dishes(I always end up asking for 3 – 4 refills of potatoes), but the variety isn’t too impressive. I’ve also tried their spicy scallop hand roll, which was pretty solid for sushi in a place that is nowhere near an ocean, although I’m sure most of the credit goes to the spicy sauce. Still, for $ 6, it’s not bad. Their Futo Maki was okay, but the pieces were extremely small and not really worth the price. In conclusion, nothing amazing, but as good as you’ll get around here.

Saturday, 27 December 2014 I went here for lunch today. Location — Easy place to drive too and it isn’t too far from OSU’s campus. Entering the restaurant is a bit tricky. I started to walk in to the front entrance but realized that it was the entrance to Spud’s bar & grill. The actual entrance is towards the side of the restaurant on a small alley way. So finding the front of the restaurant was strange especially since I walked in from the front rather than the right hand side of the restaurant. Service — Great. Servers were nice and friendly. Waitress brought hot tea to the table for everyone before we place our order. If you want water, you can get a glass of water too instead of tea. There was no extra charge for the tea. Food — I had the Zazong Myun off the lunch specials menu. The menu describes this dish as «thick noodles with pork, seafood and vegetables in black pasted sauce.» I wasn’t too keen on ordering this dish because I didn’t think I would like the sauce since I’ve never tried the sauce before. I thought my food tasted okay. I didn’t like the sauce but that’s just my own personal preference. I also hate onions and the whole meal was covered in onions, again, this isn’t the restaurant’s fault. I didn’t know my meal will have onions. The menu mentioned the dish having vegetables but I hardly saw any on my plate. Overall, my food tasted okay and I think it could have had more flavour. My friends seemed to enjoy what they ordered so next time, I will order something else. Cost — I paid $ 6.95 for my dish. Overall, this was a reasonable place but I will probably order something else next time. I’ll stick to a traditional fried rice or something similar next time.

This Korean restaurant is probably as close to a true«hole in the wall» as you can find in Columbus. It’s located in a strip mall off of Henderson Rd next to the Sears Hardware store, and you actually have to go down an alley off on the side of the Sears Hardware store to access the entryway. The interior décor of this restaurant will not blow you away in any way. It feels like a more run down version of Akai Hana down the street. They have no windows, so it may be depressing to eat here on a warm sunny summer day. But with that said, the Korean food here are solid and the service is probably the best out of the Korean restaurants in town in my experience. While I’ve never done a side by side comparison of the prices, they seem competitive in that regard as well. From what I can tell however, they don’t have BBQ grills at the tables for Korean BBQ like Kaya and San-Su does. That’s an unfortunate downside. They do have a sushi menu, but I’ve never tried it so I can’t comment. I’ve also never done karaōke here, so I can’t comment on that either.

I come here a lot, especially to satisfy my late night cravings since they open late. Their food is OK, but I love their dduk bogi since it has ramen in it. I heard from my Korean friends that’s the legit way of cooking it(never been to Korea, so I don’t know). They also have sushi, but for the price, you don’t get much. Whenever I eat here it’s always well after 10pm, so I’ve never experienced bad service since there aren’t many people eating.

Since they open late, it’s a good place for a late dinner or hanging out with friends. Their food is not bad but not great, it’s average Koean food I think. Their yogurt soju is ridiculously OVERPRICED! total rip off, I can make it for a fraction of that price! Buy some soju and add yakult yogurt drink. TADA! I think the service is fine, haven’t had a bad experience from the many times I’ve been there. The«karaōke» part though, it’s public karaōke. Out of all the times I’ve been haven’t heard anyone sing. Too unfortunate but who wants to sing for the whole restaurant anyways. Awkward!
