This hotel was kind of a joke, with one major redeeming quality(IF you have kids, that is). First of all, it’s enormous and has no elevators that we could find. Or they do have them and they’re nowhere near the guest rooms. It was a little much schlepping luggage for a family of five and three little kids up the stairs. We also couldn’t locate any kind of tornado map or anything in the room, so we kind of just had to wander around until we found things. Again, the hotel is huge. Our room was nice, it seemed recently remodeled. If you book a king room(all that was available because of a baseball tournament), don’t expect any kind of sofa or pullout or even a comfy chair that might accommodate a child or two. I’m not docking them for that in my review, I’m just warning anyone who might be like me(we always look for a room with a king bed and sofa bed for the little kids instead of two doubles, because I don’t want to pay to sleep in a bed that’s smaller than my bed at home, ya know) that a king bed is all you get. The room also lacked the usual binder with info about the hotel, room service, amenities, nearby restaurants, etc. The buffet breakfast is apparently open to the public if they want to pay $ 9.95 a person, so they have bouncers at the door verifying that diners are actual hotel guests. They claimed that I wasn’t on their list. I’m not sure why they thought we would actually throw our small children in their pajamas and drag them to a hotel to eat a mediocre breakfast if we weren’t guests of that hotel… but one of the girls finally checked with the front desk and confirmed that we were allowed to eat. By that time, all of the tablecloths were filthy. The breakfast was just okay, but mostly gross. The pool was the most awesome part of the whole stay. It has a pirate theme, and a zero-entry kiddie area with a pirate ship that’s separate from the regular pool. Our two and three year olds don’t normally venture past the pool steps when we stay in hotels so it was great that they were actually able to enjoy this pool. We could have stayed all day, I wish more hotels would follow suit. All of my stars are pretty much for the pool alone!

Hotel is under construction and renovation but our room was very nice. Fridge, microwave, coffee pot in the room. Bed was very comfortable and I loved all the comfy pillows. Restaurant/bar area has shuffle board and 2 pool tables. The live band was great! Fun pool area with a mini pirate ship:) The only downside is you can easily hear anyone in the hallway.

Room: Brand new room was nice if the maids actually cleaned it after the previous guests. Left a note for them regarding popcorn on the floor and dirty mirrors but apparently they don’t read English since the issues remained the next day. That same day they didn’t clean, they also did not leave fresh coffee for the next day. Continental breakfast: The fresh fruit for breakfast was horrible. The bananas were green and would possibly be edible 3 days from when they were placed on the buffet. The oranges were bruised and green and brown in color. The eggs looked bad in that they were from the day before or they were being burnt as they sat in the warmer. Brown chunks in yellow scrambled eggs is not appetizing. Older lady that was keeping breakfast tables supplied was heard swearing at the lid she couldn’t get open on the coffee pot. She left her nasty clean-up rag on the table with food items. It looked filthy! I am not sure why but the clean plate storage was on the floor and next to a garbage can. The plates were in plastic but why there??? I advised the front desk of this and to my surprise the plates were replaced with the clean cups the next day. Two stacks of clean cups were on the floor next to the garbage can.
