Back in August, I had the misfortune of driving on the highway and having a car in front of me lose its tire, which then flew directly into my car. When I say into, I actually mean INTO. It got wedged in the spaces between my grill and broke a bunch of pieces.(Side note: if you were driving on 270W in late August and somehow lost a tire [??], please pay for my car to get fixed? Thanks!) So I get to my destination and kind of forget about it. I assume that there’s nothing I can do about it except fork over some hard-earned cash and fix it. Later, I’m reading about how accidents like this might be covered under your insurance. I quickly filed an online claim with Progressive and decided to see how it works out. I get a call the same day from an agent who discusses the incident with me and collects some details; pretty typical for a conversation with an agent post-accident. He then schedules an appointment at this Progressive service center for the following Monday at 7 pm. First, I appreciated that I was able to get in so quickly. Second, the hours are super convenient. I could have probably arranged an appointment during my lunch break, but it was much more convenient to go after work. Once we got there, my appointment, that was supposed to take about 45 minutes, took maybe 15. The agent looked at my car, took lots of pictures, and quoted the damage on my vehicle that he could see. He stressed that there was probably more damage, but he could only do an estimate on what he could prove. He also gave me a quick estimate of what it would cost to get an unrelated repair done, which was definitely going above and beyond. The whole time we were there, we felt really welcome. Even though we were the last appointment of the night and it would have been very easy to treat us as such, everyone was extremely enthusiastic and happy to help us out. We had food and beverages offered to us no less than 5 times, I’d say. Am I going to get my car fixed? Probably not. I have my car for a couple more years and I don’t really see a point in paying the deductible to get it fixed now when it could have more damage later(queue me reading this 2 years from now and kicking myself for not getting it fixed now…) But if I were to, I would have absolutely no qualms about getting it fixed here. Our whole experience was pretty great, and I would definitely recommend this service center to anyone in a similar, unfortunate situation.
