I moved here from north Alabama wasn’t able to find a place that knew how to do barbeque. O bless you pop’s

The secret to good BBQ is not the sauce, it’s the meat. If it’s not good, no amount of sauce will help. Pop’s meat, smoky and ‘porky’, is so flavorful that you will only want to use a minimum of sauce. I had the large sandwich and ended up just eating the meat… it was so good… with only a dab of the spicy sauce. Excellent BBQ and well worth the visit.

Wife loved the brisket and I loved the catfish. Will add to places of favorites. Only problem is they are high priced when compared to other similar restaurants. Would rate higher if not for the price.

This is a great little BBQ joint. I would venture to say they have the best brisket I have ever eaten and that would include a few places that I’ve eaten brisket in Texas! There ribs are also good they are very tender and moist but they don’t season them to much they let you do that with there variety of sauces. There sides are not bad. The slaw lacked flavor but you can’t go wrong with the fries or potato salad. All in all I would recommend if you are in the mood for BBQ!

This year for my annual trip back to Pennsylvania I brought some of the south back with me. 10 racks of ribs, 8 lbs of pulled pork, 2 trays of beans and half a case of assorted sauces to feed a big family gathering of 22 people. With homemade coleslaw and bakery fresh bread it was an amazing feast that everyone totally enjoyed. Pop’s got a lot of kudo’s on this meal. Wasn’t much in the way of leftovers except for some sauce. They froze the ribs, pork and beans for the two day trip in igloo coolers and it worked out perfectly. Pop’s provided some«au jus» to keep it all moist during reheat. Not only is the BBQ top notch but so is the service.

This BBQ joint is what you expect to get in MS. This place came highly recommended from the locals which usually means good eats. The location is convenient if you live on the base and they have a friendly staff but their food is another story. While the pulled pork is moist it lacks in porky flavor. I wasn’t a fan of the potato salad but all in all the food was pleasant but when down the street is hank’s BBQ I expected more of a competition. I prefer hanks quality and quantity over pops but this is the second best alternative if they are closed.
