Ohayo Steak & Sushi House

I’ve been there several times. I live right around the corner. However, today I went in a little before 11:30. There was 1 person working… she was cooking… when I walked in she said she’d be right with me… I waited 10 minutes more and still hadn’t had my order taken… so I left. Don’t know if I will be back.

2^nd time here. Food was excellent on first trip. Had the potsticker appetizer and scallop/​chicken combo w/​friend rice and yum yum sauce. Portions were well sized and really good. Scallops were small and nothing special — wouldn’t have them again, but everything else was great.
On my second visit now, getting take out. They told me it’s ready in 20 minutes. I arrive after 30 minutes and I’m sitting here waiting another 20 minutes. Something to keep in mind, but hopefully this is just an exception.
When you dine in the food presentation is excellent. This place is much nicer than other hibachi spots.
Update 11/​21/​2015 — I’ve eaten at the restaurant 2 times since the last review. Service was excellent and the food was great. The owners are always super friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to eating here again soon.

Food was great and the service was even better!!! The atmosphere was really nice as well. The restaurant is small but when I went there were only a few people there. Good came out at a decent time and was fresh. I had the buckeye roll. I definitely plan on going back.

Been looking forward to going here for sometime now however it did not live up to expectations and the other reviews. I ordered the hibachi shrimp with steamed rice and added the vegetable mix. The shrimp was so over cooked it was difficult to chew. WAY too much rice. The vegetables were just OK but not worth $ 3.50. I’d like to say I’d try it again because maybe this ways just a bad day for them but $ 11.75 is too much to risk another so-​so meal that was hard to chew. I most likely will never go back.

I just found this spot its way better than Genji Go and it’s super Fresh ! Love there Ohio Express Rolls I want to try the other flavors soon.

What a find! Thanks, Unilocal!I live in Canal Winchester and very often complain to my husband that there are «no good non-​chain restaurants» except for pub grub or a coffee shop within a reasonable 10 minute drive from our house. How I ended up in the land of chain restaurants I really don’t know. Anyway, I used my handy dandy Unilocal app last weekend and a little gem called Ohayo popped up. We got dressed and went! I had to see what was up, especially after reading the good reviews. WOW!!! This restaurant is connected to the Dairy Queen on Noe Bixby. I honestly had no idea that existed either, but just mentioning it for a point of reference. The restaurant is small and non-​chalant. It looks like a takeout teriyaki joint, but it’s so much more! We decided to eat-​in and glad we did. The menu written on the chalkboard doesn’t do it justice. They had tons of unique specialty roll options including the Sushi Pizza and the Samurai roll. Both were excellent. The Agedashi tofu was also perfect. My husband ordered steak fried rice that came with yum yum sauce and he loved it as well. What a true find. I will be back again to try the hibachi and bento boxes mentioned in the reviews! Also the waitress was so friendly and smiley. I just adored her. Go here!!!

Saw this place had opened up recently. The food was good and cheaper than a lot of similar places. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I’m really glad to see a place like this in the area.

Nice little fast casual joint, puts you in mind of a Genji Go or something similar. Staff is very friendly, prices are very reasonable, food is pretty decent. So far we’ve tried the hibachi steak and chicken, and the bento box. Since it’s pretty close to the house, we’ll be back for sure as culinary options around here are getting boring, so it’s nice to have another option.

I feel that the overall experience with the restaurant was good. The staff was friendly and the service was timely. I was intrigued enough to try it more than once and the second time I brought my significant other. My first trip here was to get the chicken hibachi to go. I enjoyed the fact that it didn’t take long to get it after I ordered. The carrot and bean sprout mix was tasty and I found the chicken and fried rice to my liking. The ginger sauce was my favorite. The second go around my significant other and I ordered the bento box. I went with chicken and she did the tofu. This was a winner in my book. There was a nice verity of food. The crunchy shrimp roll was tasty and she really enjoyed the fried tofu. The chicken was the hibachi style and I enjoyed. This is a restaurant that I will visit again.
