After going to this shop once, I’ve been back many times to refill my homeopathic medicine cabinet. The mother and daughter team that run the shop are very friendly and helpful. For my first visit I was really sick with a horrible head cold and the woman fixed me up with some great homeopathic remedies. I was better in no time. The must get product that I can’t find anywhere else is their Tei Fu, it comes in a small container and it helps with headaches, stomach aches, bug bites, stuffy nose, etc. This is not your everyday store and they have unusual hours but it’s worth the trip.

This is a very endearing little vitamin and herbal supplement shack on Mohawk in German Village. I run by it often but never went in because I buy all of this stuff at Vitamin Shoppe and have been a happy customer for years. I hiked up there last night and they did not have liquid chlorophyll in stock, a staple in my medicine chest. I walked into the little one room apothecary and was greeted by the owner’s daughter who runs the place on weekends. It’s clear they are a distributor of Nature’s Sunshine products as this is pretty much all that they sell. but they have it all packed into this little place. I asked for chlorophyll and she offered either liquid or capsule. I prefer liquid but never tried the brand they hock here which I mentioned. She promptly ran in the back and poured a tall glass of the stuff, which I found surprising since my nutritionist tells me to only take 2 tablespoons a day. I obliged liked it and dropped 12 bucks on the stuff. While I was checking out people were coming in and out asking for all kinds of stuff that she quickly pointed out while writing my first name on the slip, explaining they like to make each purchase personal. As I turned to leave she also announced that they like to hug every customer unless it offends. I accepted then got the hell out of there! The owner is also a trained iridologist and only charges 20 bucks a session. Although there is no research to support the efficacy of this treatment I visited one back in NYC that really helped me learn alot about my body and got me on a good plan of supplements. That was years ago and it cost $ 80 for an initial consultation and $ 60 there after. If you’re into it or looking to try one this is a good price but I can’t recommend the service since I have not tried this particular iridologist but I bet you dollars to donuts there is hugging involved.
