Mike’s Barber Shop

Very nice place to get a haircut. The Owner Mike is the only one who works here and has been in business at this location for 40+ years he told me. Mike is a very nice guy and has reasonable prices. He’s just an old-​fashioned barber with old-​fashioned prices. It only cost me $ 10 for a haircut and beard trim, you can’t beat that. This was my first time coming here and most certainly won’t be my last…

Made my first visit here today for a haircut and it definitely not be my last. As some of the previous reviews have already said, just a good old fashioned shop that gives great haircuts. Nice conversation and great haircut.

Just a regular old barber shop. No appointments, no pretentious 20 year olds in tank tops, no frills. Just a great hair cut and a good sense of humor for a ridiculously low price. Make has been a barber for 49 years and it shows. Parking in the back.

Mike’s is great. Another reviewer said cash only, he takes cards now but if you want to tip, tell him before he runs the card. Maybe it’s a girl thing, I always tip. Why a girl at Mike’s Barbershop? I take my toddler there to get his haircut. He’s probably had 4 – 5 cuts at Mike’s and while still slightly nervous about it, he stays still and talks about it before and after. Mike has a little chair with a steering wheel that my son LOVES and gives him a lollipop after. There are a bunch of toys in the front so my other kids can play for the ten minutes max it takes for the haircut. My husband also gets his hair cut here and likes it.
I will say, this isn’t a salon. It’s a place where a guy named Mike chats with his buddies while he cuts hair for absurdly cheap prices. Seriously, he could charge double and I’d still think it was cheap. So no frills, but it’s rarely crowded, he’s good with my son, my husband likes him, we will probably go there until he dies.

FNALLY! after 6 months of searching in Columbus for a competent barber, I’ve finally found one. Now, just for the record, I ask the same question to every barber I encounter– «can you do a flattop?» Most are honest enough to ruefully shake their heads. Some, like Georges, Mug&Brush, etc. lie and disfigure me. Others, like the Old Familiar, find a reason not to make the attempt. Mike said, «Yep» and proceeded to prove himself with alacrity, skill, and a great attitude. Oh, and 8 BUCKS! Yeah, you heard me 8 Frickin Bucks!!!
Mike has a new regular.

For the guy who just wants a straight forward look, this is the quickest and cheapest place you’ll ever find. Good quality as well.

Just to let you know – he only accepts cash (no cards). I’ve had him cut my hair so many times and he does a good job. Plus he charges very little for what he does. I highly recommend other guys going to him. You won’t regret it.

Before I began shaving my head, I got my hair cut at Mike’s for years. The owner is the only barber. He is very friendly, fun to talk to, and just a good guy. He also gives the fastest haircuts I’ve ever seen. He does a good job, and for an excellent price.
If you want a good haircut fast and cheap (and who doesn’t?), give Mike’s a try. And don’t be concerned if there are 4 or 5 people in front of you. It won’t take long.
