McKinley Field

This park seemed to have more parking space than it did green space. The playground did feature some newer jungle gyms which were nice. There is also a covered shelter area that you can rent for events, as well as indoor restroom facilites. I don’t see much reason to go back aside from the uncrowded factor. But maybe it’s right for you!

What? No Unilocalers go to this park. There really isn’t much to this park so I can see why few people go here.
Here is what the park has: One Basketball court, a small playground area, a large field that use to have two baseball/​softball diamonds in it. The backstops are still there but weeds have taken over the infield. The field is nice and flat but the grass is sketchy with clumps of brown, weeds, and a few nice area of grass to sit down on. They also have a small shelter with no tables. The shelter looks like it use to have bathrooms but it is all locked up and looks unused. They do have a few trees in the front of the park but other than that shade is at a premium.
I come here for Kickball and it is nice because no one else is really here but a few kids. The field is ok for Kickball but it could be rolled once in awhile to make the ground more even. I wouldn’t plan a picnic or a day at the park here.
