I’ve decided to review One of our only grocery stores in Columbus. I wish we had more grocery store selections, but alas we do not. Thank goodness Kroger has at least stepped up its game recently. They renovated the store, added a fresh seafood station, a live sushi chef, and an aisle for nuts and grains. The organic/vegan selection is also must better than before. Hopefully the healthy eating options will continue to increase.

I’ve upgraded this Kroger from the single star it would have gotten this time last year to two. Although the selection has gotten loads better — better produce, a seafood department, and sushi — nothing can make up for the terrible service here. The workers never seem to know what the heck I am looking for and where I can find it. I was looking for Tahini. Tahini. Not that unusual of an ingredient. Never heard of it. I found it myself eventually. Multiple times I’ve asked where things were only to get a blank stare. I realize someone who eats a primarily vegan diet may be out of place in a small town, but is there someone you could ASK? Or is it just easier to stare at me and say no? Worst of all, they constantly have things mispriced. This is infuriating and I have heard from many people who have had this experience. You go ring up, and notice something doesn’t ring up at the price marked(especially true for sales items). They don’t give it to you free. They don’t call anyone to check the price. They don’t apologize. They don’t take your word for it. They look at you. You look at them. They ask you if you still want it and you say hell no and cry inside because this is the only grocery store in town that’s safe to go to after dark.
