Knights Inn Downtown Columbus

Awful. Overpriced. Very bad neighborhood. Owner is Indian, is an idiot and has a rotten attitude.

This hotel is awful. Our original room lost power and we discovered this at midnight. Very rude clerk switched us to another room that ended up being a junk room. It had broken furniture thrown around the room. When I asked how he could do that in the middle of the night he replied he didn’t work there. Gave us a third room. This one had garbage all over the floor and under the beds. Nearly considered staying when we looked up and saw the roaches. We hightailed it out of there. Nice set for a horror film.

CONS:
–the WiFi here is so spotty, and when asked if they can do something to try to improve it, they tell you to go downtown someplace else that has better WiFi. I don’t think they should say they offer this service since the 2 days we stayed here, the internet wasn’t working…
–the continental breakfast is very limited… just a few donuts, fruit loops, raisin bran, orange juice, and coffee.
–i saw 2 roaches crawling on the walls going into the top board.
PROS:
–cheap as all hell
–pretty consistently empty, vacancies available.
−−24÷7 washing machine (takes quarters) on site
–close walking distance to real food places, close to downtown diners

YUCK! This is by far the worst place I’ve ever been to and their attitude was «what’d you expect for $ 46? «I’m sorry, I’ve stayed in some cheaper motels, but at least they were clean and didn’t have missing door jambs or doors you couldn’t lock! This is just totaly unacceptable in my book.

Do not stay here!
Never stayed in a dirtier hotel. There are no bugs because bugs wouldn’t even stay here! I would be embarrassed to take a street hooker back to this place (if you were into that stuff). Just dirty and old.
The bathroom tile was cracked and some of the tiles felt like they were moving under my feet. The tub /​shower had soap scum on the walls and brown spots on the tub. The bathroom door also had brown spots on it. The entrance door was dirty. The walls looked like they haven’t been cleaned in a while. Stains on the sheets; cigarette burn hole in the comforter, etc.
If you read any of my other reviews for hotels, I will usually say a hotel is a good value. I am forgiving of not having certain amenities depending on the price of the hotel. However, there is no excuse for the condition of this room. Just horrible! The mattress was old and sagging. The shower head was very difficult to move, forcing you to adjust your body to rinse yourself off. Customer service was slow at check in. I will never stay here again! There is also an adjoining Travelodge which appears to be the same types of rooms. Personally, I would be very wary of staying there too.
Overall, it was quiet, even though it wasn’t in the best area. But, that was the only plus! Even the lighting was too dim for my tastes. They do provide free WIFI, but that is even slow! It’s hard to find anything decent about this place other than the price (around $ 45), but I would have paid double to stay somewhere else.
