Gus has serviced Columbus for years. The food has always been great. As a student that attended a once school across the street where wall mart has taken its place I hope Gus remains in business many more years.

Burger was just good, bread probably was old though. I paid 12 and idk what for. I got a large cheese burger(5.99) added a drink and fries(which was a small thing of fries-2.29) and added bacon. Now idk how much the bacon was but I’m sure not $ 3 so I was trying to figure out where the extra $ 3 – 4 came from when I got back to work. I also got a side of sauce but still not adding up. The service was good.

Gus’s was great! I went in a little earlier than opening time. The gentleman greeting me kindly and asked me to wait a few minutes. Then he said… «What can I get you Baby Doll?» Haha Most folks around here say«mam». It was a fun and interesting change from the normal greeting. We didn’t stay to eat. But some travel site mentioned that Gus’s was number 7 out of ten places in all of Georgia for the best place for Peach Pie! So when in Georgia! We had to indulge!!! We didn’t want to miss the chance as Gus’s is located next to National Infantry Museum. I ordered hush puppies(our after graduation appetizer), two peach cobblers and sweet potato pie to go. We went and had lunch somewhere else. Once we got back to the hotel we had our dessert with some ice cream from Bruster’s(see that review)

Well I can go back to being a kid and remember loving the steak sandwich. Not so much anymore whatever has changed leaves a bad taste in my mouth(Probably the steak on the sandwich). Mine was burnt to a crisp and even left that nasty charcoal taste in my mouth. My mom has been wanting to go back so I tried before she could make the mistake. No mom do not go here please. Sorry Guys you coulda done so much better!

Small, old, and in need a face lift deceiving diner. However, it’s not the looks that are important when you are in search of some delicious and greasy happiness! The burgers are spot on and perfect in size! The fries are well seasoned to go with but could’ve been given a slightly larger portion. The sweat tea? Take some to go because you’ll want to! The buffalo wings were good too but could’ve been left in the fryer for just a bit longer to cook off a little more of the fat. This will be one of those«go to» places for the rest of our time here in GA!

Love this place! Everything is delicious and I highly recommend you try it. Last time I came here I had the catfish platter and as always it did not disappoint. The owner and all his employees are polite and welcoming.

Stopped at the end of a long road trip with zero expectations. Got wings, banana pudding and a catfish po’boy. The wings were passable and the banana pudding was very good BUTTHECATFISHPO’BOYCHANGEDMYLIFE. That is all.

I’ve eaten here a lot since being stationed here two years ago. However I won’t be back again. The last time I was there I thought it looked dirtier than usual and I noticed a small mouse running around while I was waiting for my order. I still ate my chicken wings, but will never go back. This was a few months ago so… I felt like I should leave this review. First time leaving one.

I love buffalo wings but here you get fried chicken with hot sauce on the site. The food is your typical fried food but don’t advertise them as buffalo wings. Could be more appealing if they cleaned the place up and make it look like your food might have some bug parts in it.

This place was definitely a «dive». The food was pretty good, the greens were a little too salty. The dining room could use a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. I will probably come back

Decent Cat on the bone. Gizzards were way to greasy as were fries. Quick enough delivery but not less than 45 minutes. Delivered on post is great!

The food is ok. They do deliver on Ft Benning, which is nice. The food tends to be very heavy and greasy though.

My husband grabbed a gyro combo to-go and it was just… sad. I got to the car, excited to see what I hoped to be a huge platter, only to find a sad, tiny paper bag with a teeny bag of fries and sorry excuse for a gyro. The gyro had 4 pieces of meat, was very light on tzatziki sauce, and limp vegetables. There were approximately 15 French fries in the bag and it was just disappointing. I’m giving one extra star because my husband said the man who took the order was really nice. If we by some chance happen to go to Gus’s again, it will NOT be for the gyros!

While in Columbus GA on business, an associate recommended Gus’s for home style Southern cuisine. We got a chance to stop by for lunch. Gus’s has a military discount– already one plus there. They had several daily«meat and three(sides)» specials, but I knew if I ate one of those I would be in no condition to go back to work. I settled on a fried pork chop sandwich with fries with a fried chicken drumstick on the side. Very reasonable, less than $ 9. The order took a long time. It probably didn’t help that we upset their routine by ordering first at the take out window, then sitting down in their 10 table air-conditioned dine-in restaurant. We had a hour for lunch and nearly didn’t make it to our 1 pm appointment. When the food did come, it was fresh, hot, and tasty! The fried pork chop was huge! I cut out the bone and had to split it in half to fit on the sandwich bun! I look forward to trying more southern comfort food the next time business takes me to Columbus, just need to take a long lunch and eat in the restaurant!

We moved to ft Benning GA about a year ago and gus has become a comfort food for us! We have had just about everything on the menu, no complaints. The gyro, lemon pepper wings and famous steak sandwich are a must!

Cool little local joint. Anthony the owner actually came out and talked me through the menu my first time there. I ordered the gyro, Fried pickles, and on Anthony’s recommendation the banana pudding. Being a Detroiter I know good gyro’s and how to pronounce it right! Their gyro was right on point. Second visit I got the double burger with bacon and cheese as well as the fried green tomatoes. I shouldn’t not have ordered both because that’s A LOT of food. I ended up having to take them tomatoes home. The entire meal was awesome. If you’re here TDY make sure you make a visit!
